For an older hotel rooms were clean and well kept up. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was better than expected. Location hidden but quiet and off the road. Excellant wifi!

Loved the location, friendliness of the evening staff and cleanliness of the place! It is not the newest or glitziest of locations, but terrific for us! Quiet too! We will be back!

"Stop and sleep point"

I only gave this stay 3 stars because it is a 3 star hotel. It isn't a renaissance or even a holiday inn. "bad first, second, and third impression"
the only thing good about the hotel was the price and the location of the property. The condition of the hotel was not impressive. The management and staff didn't seem to concerned about the appearance of the hotel. The workers where friendly, but the management team was not to friendly. They didn't make us feel welcome at all. The big problem was that my 8 month old was black head to toe from the hotel room floor, You would think the cleaning staff's shoes would be black by the end of the day and realize there was a problem. While clean there were stains on the carpet and furniture. For two people, one bar of soap at lavatory, one in bath area and only one shampoo. The accommodations were adequate for our needs. The hotel was clean and comfortable, but needs an update. The location was fifteen minutes away from the Hiddenite Emerald Mine, which was our destination. There were also many places to eat a short distance away. "Horrible experience!"
Very loud traffic. Felt as if we were sleeping on the freeway. Towel rack held in place by one screw. Flood lights on all night feeling like the sun was coming through the window all night. The air conditioning/heating unit was unbearably loud all night, competing only with the traffic noise through the front door. We were on a stop over going to Atlanta; the hotel was very easy to find right off the Interstate. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The experience with the front desk was quite ordinary. The condition of the room was horrible. A strong smell of disinfectant was evident as soon as the door was opened. My husband & I enjoyed our 3 day stay. Our room was clean & comfortable & the staff courteous. Of course it wasn't luxury nor did we expect it to be, but for the money we were very pleased & would not hesitate to stay there again. Our one complaint is the tricky location. You can not see the motel from the main road. It is hidden down what appears […] to be an exit to the freeway. Also there is an entrance through a parking lot that has a furniture store & doctor's office, someplace you just wouldn't think to turn in to. If we had not already paid for a reservation we would have given up & just stayed at one of the many other very accessible hotels along the main road. "Clean enough for a night or 2 stay"
We just stayed the night to visit the Hiddenite mine the next day about 13 miles away. Room was clean enough. Beds were a little hard, but my daughters room had more comfortble beds.
