I have been eying this hotel for the last few years but have always stayed at the Drake or Millennium but this time took a leap of faith since the price was right and I really wanted to stay close to Hancock. Everything about this hotel is great except it can be more customer friendly and let them check in may be an hour before the 4 pm check in time. This hotel or atleast our room had the best bathroom I have seen in any hotel in Chicago and that includes Palmerhouse, Drake, Hyatt and Millennium. I've stayed at the Raffaello before, and always had a great experience. This trip got off to a bit of a rough start...very loud ac in the room, and I had been placed next to an elevator. However, kudos to management. They were extremely helpful, and immediately moved me to a better location. The rooms are equipped with a mini-fridge, which is very conveinent. […] I did order bfast for room service one morning and the omelette showed up within 10 min...perfect! Great location walking distance to the lake. If you have chemical sensitivities, be sure to recommend housekeeping doesn't spray your room with fragrance before you arrive...my eyes immediately turned red when I got to my room. "My Birthday in the Windy City!!!!"
Fri 18th-Monday 22nd.This hotel experience was great, it provided all the amenities needed and the location was perfect!. The Drum Bar was dimly lit, the music was great and the so were the drinks! I even had the pleasure of meeting the bartender's mom as well!! The staff was EXTREMELY pleasant. I had the pleasure of attending the Mike Epps show Sat […] night where I was assisted in purchasing the tickets by a sweetheart (who is expecting a baby, congrats again!!! ) at the front office. She also suggested I have breakfast across the street at the Hilton ( boy, did I need it!hungover.com) . The (older) gentleman at the Front Door was GREAT!!! He allowed me to use his jacket when I went to breakfast so I wouldnt have to go back to my room. Sunday night when I returned to the hotel ( after clubbing around 2am) , I was greeted by two of the warmest and funniest staff ever!!!!
