This was our second stay at this hotel. We had a great time. Staff is friendly and efficient. Hotel is charming and rooms are a decent size. The location is unbeatable for Michigan Ave. Valet parking cost is high, but I understand in line with the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
Wonderful! Love the location! Simple but elegant. Really enjoyed the upstairs bar, look forward to coming back.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel, clean with historic atmosphere. Friendly staff, comfy bed, nice shower, small bathroom. Didn't appreciate the $6.00 bottle of water. One complimentary bottle of water isn't too much to ask. I usually stay at Hampton Inn downtown, though this rate was discounted and considerably less than the Hampton's standard, A free continental breakfast […] would go a long way toward making this a great place to stay. "The little hotel that tries"
Location was great. Room was small and our view was of an inside Court with dumpsters that were emptied very early every morning. Beds were very comfy The staff and service was excellent. Only two elevators and they were small....no way around it, it is an old building and it shows. The hotel lobby is very small and always crowded with people and huge […] amts. of luggage clogging the way to the elevators. "Parking a joke"
We got there late, and the garage would not take our car. Then we tried to valet and it took a while. The next morning it took half an hour to get the car and I was late for work. Front desk had attitude. No one else was waiting so not sure what the issue was. Also parking was more than I have ever paid, even in New York.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Raffaello Hotel Thank you for your review! I am happy to know you enjoyed your stay with us. Please return again soon.
The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was in an excellent location for us to be able to walk to great food and shopping. We will stay here again when going to ChicagoGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel with great location!"
First time to visit Chicago. Hotel was in a great location to explore all of the city's highlights! Nice and helpful staff. Good coffee and donut shop in the lobby.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location/great staff"
We had a very nice time. The Raffaello hotel was very good with helpful staff and a nice room. Our only complaint was that the room was very warm the first night but the staff was able to rectify the problem and it was comfortable for the remainder of our stay. Very close to shopping and near the navy pier ( a short walk along the lakeshore). Located […] Near public transportation to the sights. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Had to use the stairs several times because the elevators were full. Your elevators are slow and small, they aren't always going in the right direction either. Not sure if I would recommend this place or not bit I had to check something!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great for In-Town weekend getaway!"
Excellent Choice! We live in Chicago, but like to do in-town getaways. This was an excellent choice. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The room was comfortable and it felt like a real getaway even though we were about 15min from home. The rooftop bar (Drumbar) was an excellent extra! Will definitely stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I were given one of the smallest rooms in the hotel. After completely unpacking we asked the next morning if we could move and was told that if a room became available we could but we had to be at the hotel to move ourselves. When I inquired about an approximate time they couldn't give me one, so I wasn't going to give up one of my vacation […] days to sit around the hotel hoping we could move our things. When I gave Expedia a disappointed text/review, I suddenly got a text from another employee at the front desk asking me how stay was going and I told her. She then said we could move the next day and if we would have all our stuff ready, the hotel staff would move us to our new room. After that was done and handled nicely, the room was probably twice as big and much more comfortable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This was our 1st stay in downtown Chicago. The hotel location was perfect ! We spent hours walking around Chicago...wonderful to have this hotel go to and relax.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Awesome hotel!! Great location... Had a blast, will come back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A fun hotel. Loved the architecture, and the nicks and scars were only a reminder that the old lady has class. Price was reasonable (comparatively speaking), and the service was excellent. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cramped and damp"
We were given a room with soaking wet carpets and had to endure wet feet or wear shoes and breathe in the humid perfumed air all night. The tiny room barely had room for one person and one suitcase. We were told no other rooms were available and that all the rooms had had carpets cleaned that day. After a miserable night, the manager re-assigned us […] to a lovely, dry, spacious room. As nice as the second room was, putting us in a wet room was unacceptable. I would not recommend or return to this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel even texted me to make sure I was happy. Very nice place. Door to door great service.Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect location just off Michigan, so it was quiet, but still in the heart of everything. Staff was amazing! Room was large and the bed was so comfortable! No complaints - perfect stay at the Raffaello!Genuine Expedia guest review

It was lovely placement and great local food near by. Easy walking distance entertainment.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean towels left on toilet"
Shower drain was clogged. Room was not very cool (AC did not work well). Room wasn't cleaned during our 2 night stay. Housekeeping manager was VERY RUDE. Water pooled in bottom of refrigerator causing very musty/foul smell in the room. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. Not sure how it has a 4 star rating.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Raffaello Hotel I am so sorry to hear of your negative experience at the Raffaello. It is our goal to ensure that every guest receives a quality experience and it is disappointing to hear that we did not deliver such to you. I have asked our maintenance and housekeeping team to follow up on the issues you have mentioned and attend to them immediately. I hope you return again soon to find better circumstances.
"Nice older hotel with class"
The room was nicely decorated and recently updated. The staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions with ease. My wife and I were in Chicago for just a getaway and were supposed to checkout by 11 but they kept our luggage and car until we were back from our tour at no additional costs. It is right next to the John Hancock Tower on the "magnificent […] mile" where all of the shopping is (which made my wife happy) and a block from Lake Shore Dr, about a mile from Navy Pier. "Great location - easy walk Michigan Ave and beach"
Room was spacious and very clean. Comfy beds. Shower had good water pressure (a definite plus in my book). Overall bathroom was very small and literally no counter space for toiletries! That would be my only complaint. Front desk people were nice. Parking not too inconvenient. I have to give high praise to the doormen! They were very helpful on our […] arrival, kept our bags while we self-parked. Very friendly every time we came in or left. Helped load our bags in the car when we left. They were great! "Charming Old World hotel convenient to everything"
Let me start by saying the Raffaello is a massive, massive bargain. Beautiful classic architecture, with a subtle blend of modern decor. Our room (mid-suite) was more spacious than anticipated, almost qualified as a 1br condo. Tastefully decorated, quality furnishings & fixtures throughout. The only minor downside was the carpet was worn and mildly […] stained, but no big deal to me. The staff were top-notch, and the building is in one of the most elite blocks of downtown (Jerry Springer lives next door; visiting sports teams stay at the hotel across the street). GQ Magazine`s "Best Whiskey Bar In America" , the Drumbar, is located on the roof. As well, there are rooftop patios, one for the bar, one for hotel guests only. A popular donut & coffe shop in the lobby. A small grocery is 200ft from the door, world-class dining, shopping, the lake, parks, and famous landmarks all within walking distance. Nearby bike rental, local and tour bus routes at the corner. The neighborhood is vibrant & alive with a blend of travelers and locals, very friendly & completely safe, even late at night. The Raffaello is definitely now my only place to stay in Chicago. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"nice hotel in great location downtown near beach"
Rooms are large, quiet, and comfortable. Location is close to everything. Roof top bar was fun. Beware: parking charge is 61 per day and room service is also overpriced. Elevators are small and slow. Mostly it is great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Last minute getaway."
With our Expedia Rewards, got a complimentary upgrade! That was a treat. Fantastic location at the top end of the Miracle Mile. Elevators a tiny bit slow, and it was surprising to find a very hip bar on the roof! So a line outside the door as they are only allowed in 1 elevator full at a time. Over 200 scotches in the bar! I opted for the artfully […] made Old Fashioned. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great boutique hotel"
This is a gorgeous boutique hotel located right off the Michigan Mile. Great location, fabulous service. The first room we got was not what we expected, but the staff quickly changed our room to a beautiful suite with lots of character and charm. We would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything about this hotel was great. Clean, comfortable, excellent location. Easy walk to Oak St. Beach and Magnificent Mile. Beautiful rooftop bar. Nicely appointed rooms. Only issues were with concierge, who had to go ask someone else about our questions, and difficulty connecting to the internet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny Rooms Lousy View"
Book a room for a quick stay-cation. Room was clean, well equipped but very small. Room had microwave, fridge, and Keurig Coffee machine. Television was nice as well. If you need a firm mattress, this is not a hotel for you. Desk staff was friendly yet unaccommodating. Requested a room with a view. Was told "all our rooms have city views". I got a city […] wall view with a Side of parking garage. Elevators extremely slow. Not a bad place per se, but there are better options in Chicago. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

So convenient to the Magnificent Mile! Great location close to the water and shopping. Service was great but getting through to the desk on the phone is a nightmare!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I have been eying this hotel for the last few years but have always stayed at the Drake or Millennium but this time took a leap of faith since the price was right and I really wanted to stay close to Hancock. Everything about this hotel is great except it can be more customer friendly and let them check in may be an hour before the 4 pm check in time. […] However they did keep our luggage while we had a late lunch at Signature lounge. This hotel or atleast our room had the best bathroom I have seen in any hotel in Chicago and that includes Palmerhouse, Drake, Hyatt and Millennium. The beds were comfy and the room interior was cozy. I wish they had better ac system since our room was still bit warm in the night. The valet parking is 60 bucks while the self-parking is 30 - WOAH! I will stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I'm not sure what type of hotel this is exactly: chic, boutique, trendy, classic, modern, ... a bit of all the above; definitely on the higher end of the scale. That said, very comfortable spacious room, great bathroom, noisy air conditioner with poor temperature controls, average in-room entertainment. Decent location to tool around the city. "Amazing location, fantastic hotel"
The room is spacious and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and nice. The best thing of this hotel is that it's 1 block away from the Magnificent Mile, water tower and the Hancock observatory. There are lots of things to do around.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent value, not an upscale experience"
Great location, good value but not an upscale experience. Rooms are not cared for properly and newly refurbished rooms were done cheaply and not very attractive. Recommended only for the mid category traveler.Genuine Expedia guest review
"GREAT LOCATION! We walked to many great places."
I will say that the bell hop was friendly but the concierge hardly made an attempt to welcome us. I also was not blown over by the person at the sign-in desk. I am sued to friendly people at many Ritzes and Marriotts!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Love this hotel but this last stay was average"
I have stayed here 3 or 4 times when I stay downtown Chicago. I love it's location and that it is small and cosy. However, it seemed a little worse for wear this time. My room was clean, but smelled musty. Just wasn't the same. I will give it another chance.Genuine Expedia guest review
A great location and access to everything that we wanted to do in Chicago. The smallness of the elevators was a concern initially butn they proved not to be a problem. Our second stay here and would repeat it againGenuine Hotels.com guest review

good location. generally clean& spacious. bathroom size was a little smaller than I expected. accessibility to all city attractions is great.Genuine Expedia guest review
Mold in our room. Had to change rooms. No one from management contacted us about this. No discounted rate for the moldy room or inconvenience. Got a response from the manager about 5 days after we checked out. Very dissatisfied. Would not recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location - big bang for the buck!"
Raffaello is a super location and has excellent old world charm. The beds were great; the bathroom fantastic. Cleanliness superb! Close to shopping, bus stops, and variety of eating choices.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was a good size. Beds were small (doubles) and both dipped in the middle making them slightly uncomfortable. The bathroom had no fan and needed at least one other towel rack. The fridge was stocked too full with their expensive items - making it nearly unuseable for our personal food/drink stocks. The service was thorough and considerate. The […] staff was friendly and responsive. I would prefer a non-business option without a desk and with a small couch/loveseat. But overall the location was fantastic - two blocks from the L-train, Magnificant Mile and a few blocks from Navy Pier. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
