This was our first trip to Chicago & this was a great choice for oue hotel. We only had an over night but this HJ would be perfect for a shopping trip or whatever. The room was very large & clean & although the bathroom was small, it was clean too. The decor could really stand updating but it was OK. We would stay here again.

After reading the reviews I was very nervous about what the hotel was going to be like. It was surprisingly not that bad. On the outside, it looks extremely run down, but once we got to our room, it looked like they recently did some updates to the room. Not a full room makeover, but new bed linens, sinks, and fixtures. We only stayed one night, and […] it was perfect because parking was free (on a first come, first serve basis though), and we were able to park before we checked in, and then just walked everywhere. You're a little ways from Navy Pier, but it was a nice day and we were able to walk the distance. You're very close to downtown, as well as Michigan Ave, bars, Second City, etc. We walked everywhere and felt very safe (even after dark). I was very disappointed in this hotel. The room was stark, smelled terrible, and I was scared. I did not sleep well as every time someone would come through the security door, it would shake my bedroom door (sounding like someone was at my door). Were paying for the location. The hotel itself is alright. But they have to change the address, the gps is pointing us to a different location, we needed to call the hotel after 3x searching for the address. The hotel floors are uneven, needs upgrade.

Very friendly staff, very convenient downtown location if you are sight seeing &/or shopping. LOVED that parking was included. Clean, but REALLY needs some up-dating and maintenance- especially the bathroom.

While I am use to staying at the Marriot, Hilton etc., this hotel served its purpose. I had to attend a week long class, all the other hotels in the area prices where ABSOLUTELY outrageous for my budget. The best features of this hotel is the free parking and the great customer service from the staff - they where very pleasant.

It was scary in the area, but I'm from a small town. I felt safe inside my room. It expensive for me, but great value for Chicago I'm sure. I wish the restaurant was open later than 4:30 pm. Had to eat dinner at McDonald's. Sure wanted a regular meal after driving all day.

First, don't bother with the pictures- you are seeing the best angles the hotel (motel) has to offer. The rooms are comfortable, but only surface clean (don't look between the shower and sink, scary!). Can't see through the windows and there is a peculiar smell in the rooms and hallways. For free parking and free wi-fi, you can't beat the price. Yeah it's not a "luxury" hotel but the rooms are clean, fairly spacious, comfortable beds and the staff was very helpful when we had questions. It's so close to everything we very much enjoyed our stay. We were there 3 nights and had no problems. We will return to this hotel in the future.

Enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the on site cafe which had excellent breakfast options. The free parking was a big bonus especially since there was a snow storm the first night of the stay. Rates extremely reasonable for a basic motel downtown which includes parking. However, the parking spaces are only for compact cars. You Won't get a Van, Avalanche, or medium truck into the spots. We read all the reviews before booking and were a little nervous, but were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Our king suite was up to date and very clean. The outside is deceiving, it looks run down, but the rooms were nice and the workers were very friendly. The free parking and decent rate will be making this our go to spot in the city.

We had an 8 hour drive so saving money seemed like the perfect idea, but after the stay I would have much rather paid twice the price. The price was very reasonable for one night. A $9 cab ride to downtown and surrounding area. The room was small but worked really well for sleeping. Service was great and security on 3rd shift made us girls feel safe coming back late at night. Free parking too!!! I'd stay again :)

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The hotel could use updating, but personally I was quite content. It has the basics of what one would need for a long weekend. I stayed over New Years and the hotel was booked on the 31st, every parking space taken, but the other days I was there, there was plenty of parking. The hotel […] staff was fine. The front desk person would not allow me to check in before the chek in time of 3, but I was able to park the car and get a spece before 3. The room was nothing special. no microwave or mini fridge, but there was free wireless and the tv was decent. The room was clean enough.
