The extra price for the King suite was not worth it :(. We requested a non-smoking room, the first room smelled of smoke. We were moved to another room with no hastle. However the additional bedding for the suite was not in the room. We requested the King suite hoping for extra room for the kids to play but we were dissapointed with the layout. Pool and spa are small (spa has max cap of 4!). They had a hard time keeping up with towels at pool and never did get towels for room we requested. Nothing special, but quiet and clean.

Glad that our rooms were NOT on the pool side of the hotel - very noisy. Realize it was Thanksgiving weekend, but parents really need to start supervising their children. Perhaps some sound absorption can be installed in the atrium to tone down the level. We were on the third floor.

The hotel is some what isolated from the surrounding neighborhood making the surrounding area irrelevant. If you want to walk anywhere from here you may be better suited elsewhere. I was about a 5 minute drive to my daughters sorority house down Lincoln. However, I never felt unsafe as we all know you can in many parts of Champaign/Urbana. Hotel was nice and clean. A bit pricey. My room did not have room darkening shades and the morning sun woke us up too early!! I later noticed that some of the rooms did have the shades. Wish I had noticed this when I checked in, but we were on our way to a wedding. The pool was nice but the hot tub was broken.

Toilet did not flush, told to hold handle down. Radio didn't work - no response from maintenance, they agreed, didn't work... Shower made irritating noise. Wallpaper in poor condition. Ceiling was disgusting to look at. Poor air conditioning. Will not return to this hotel.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet, despite being nearly full. The only downside to this stay was breakfast buffet. It was relatively cheap ($8.95?) but the food was sub-par.

We were in Champaign/Urbana for graduation weekend. We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Killarney. The hotel catered to all guests by offering complimentary champaign and appetizers in the lobby each afternoon/evening. The staff working the breakfast buffet in the mornings were wonderful, especially Kim who really took good care of us. Room looked old, toilet didn't work unless you held handle down and seat had cracks in it. Seal along bathtub looked old and dirty! No extra blankets, no safe, no refigerator, no microwave; no complmentary breakfast- had to buy your breakfast at the hotels overpriced resturant or go out for breakfast. The employees were very pleasant and accommodating.The pool was in the air-conditioned back end of the lobby. Cold 4 swimming and always out of towels. Our room was on the 4th floor front end and faced the lobby and the top of the front outside windows. When looking out you could clearly see all sorts of spider webs at the top the outside windows. The hotel was without bugs so it was acceptable. When I entered the room, it appeared clean but there was a smell of unwashed bodies. I checked the sheets and bathroom and all seemed to be clean. I had to go out to get a room freshener. I could not open a window. I do not know if the body odor could have been something that remained from a hard working […] cleaning person but tried to think the best. Most importantnly, there were no bugs. This Holiday Inn was very clean and comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms were clean which is a huge plus. Complimentary washer and dryer was a nice benefit as I did need to do one load of laundry during my stay. Although not a big deal, we did need to request more towels since they were not replenished when the room was cleaned by housekeeping. the staff was wonderful....but there were issues with the hotel. The Air conditioning went out in our room...so very uncomfortable. I paid extra to have the full breakfast but during our stay, the CAFE was not open and the hotel was offering a very unsatisfactory breakfast buffet. The occupants next to us were VERY loud and kept us up all night. I finally […] contacted the front desk at 4:40 AM to complain, but the noise continued for at least another hour. After no sleep and a long day, we returned in the afternoon wanting to have a nice cup of coffee, but the hotel doesn't offer any coffee service in the afternoon. I like a firm mattress, but this felt like a slab of concrete with a couple inches of padding on top. I actually got up in the middle of the night and took the covers apart so I could fold up the comforter and use it as a pillowtop underneath me.
