If youʻre looking for the comfort and relative luxury of most mid-priced hotel chains, this is not it. More like a Days Inn. The rooms are absolutely no frills, except mine did have a minifridge and microwave. No iron. Coffee maker came with two packets of instant. No pay-per-view movies on the telly. Basic. basic, basic. Room was tiny! Lamp didn't even have a bulb in it. The lighting was awful for getting ready and doing makeup. The best part was the awesome bar around the corner; the Redwood... That place was great.

I wasn't very pleased at all. I was charged $22.00 for parking when I arrived which I agreed to pay, then the morning employee tried to charge me again, when I said I paid he said prove it, where's your receipt? I said can't you check your computer and see if I paid he said no and that it was my responsibility to get a receipt. For the price I thought it a good value, for downtown LA. It was not the Biltmore but it was overall a good experience. Staff were just the best, friendly, helpful and effective. It could benefit greatly with better lighting in the lobby. Too much fluorescent....needs some different bulbs...OTHER GUESTS were a bit noisy in the hallway at midnight speaking […] on cell phones with speakerphone! I would stay there again. Very Small room. Kitchenette do not have utensils. Suitable if you are looking for low price. Beds are small and moves very easily (They stand on wheels).

The room is basic, reflecting the low price. However, the staff is great, friendly, helpful -- from the front desk clerk to the parking valet to the housekeeping staff. The hotel is near downtown LA, close to Little Tokyo, the Metro, Disney concert hall, and the cathedral. We would definitely stay again.

The hotel was nice , nothing big but nice. Good staff but what bothered me was being on the third floor looking the main Hill street and having to hear the cars go by was the worst. There was also a werid banging on the cieling the whole night. But over all it was a nice hotel to spend the night with your loved one.

Room was clean and convient has a kitchenette stove top and refrig. Drawbacks are they charge a daily fee if you want internet and there is no parking you either have to valet park or there is a lot that charges by the day half a block away

Honestly, I was shocked when I entered the room. It was the smallest hotel room I had ever been in. It looked like something from the movies that the communist government provided for their people. The queen bed took up 2/3 of the space! The TV was a 17 " monitor that only got 4 english channels. They do not tell you that you have to valet park since […] there is not any parking available so just hand over another $25 on top of your room rate. Luckly for me, I was only staying one night. Hotel is looking old and shabby and and in desperate need of a facelift. The room was okay, but nothing special. It was fine for an overnight stay before moving on, I don't think I'd want to spend more than two days here though. The area is depressed, with lots of down and outs unfortunately. I was attending a conference at a nearby 4* hotel, but wanted a cheap alternative. Staff were friendly and helpful, and hotel is very close to lots of the things a visitor might want to see in Downtown LA. Skid road is nearby, and the immediate area is pretty quiet at night, but once I adjusted I felt pretty safe even walking alone (though one must […] use common sense). My main complaint echoes reviews of this hotel on other websites: interiors and furnishings are very old, tired, shabby. Amenities in room are limited, mattress was thin, room was stuffy at night, TV functional but no guide so navigation difficult, no free wireless in room (charge modest daily fee per device). Despite all that, inspection showed room was clean (I"m a neat freak) and there was no sign of bed bugs (I checked carefully). Bottom line: not a room to relax in, so if you want comfort look elsewhere - just a place to crash at night, if location and price are your main criteria. Read more

Given the bad reviews, we were slightly concerned. However, the hotel was in the list recommended by our conference, so we went ahead. The service was good and the staff was helpful and friendly. Free wifi would have been appreciated, but otherwise absolutely no complaints.
