"$20 hidden fee"

"Miserable"
The entire experience was terrible. I am incredibly disappointed. I booked a corner king and wasn't notified by the hotel that I wasn't going to get a corner king. Got to the room and the remote didn't work. Asked to speak to a manger - nobody followed up. Went to dinner and had TERRIBLE service. Finally spoke to a manager who gave brunch passes. "more hotel than resort"
Went on a girls weekend. Near shopping/restaurants but definately need a car. Staff could have been a bit more courteous. Since it was off season, seemed a bit more like a hotel than a resort. "Excessive check in lines and unexpected fees"
Having pre-paid my stay on Expedia, I arrived at 11:00 pm, exhausted from a 10 hour drive in the company of my 89 year old mother to find 50 or more people in line for check-in at the hotel's front desk. Apparently the resort is routinely used by United Airlines to lodge passengers from cancelled flights, and the front desk is just not able to handle […] the traffic in an efficient manner. In addition, I was greatly surprised to find an invoice in the morning for an additional $20 per room "Resort Fee". Nowhere in the Expedia reservation process did I see that there would be an extra charge. To add insult to injury, when I went to the front desk at 9:00 am to question the charge and check out, the same 50 plus passengers were in line trying to check out. There were only 2 clerks working at the front desk, making it a long wait AGAIN! "Not Worth It"
Disappointing for the price tag. Check-in was unnerving-the front desk person argued with me that we had only booked and paid for 1 night, when indeed we booked and paid for 2 nights-BRING YOUR RECEIPT AS PROOF! They also hit us with a hidden $20.00/night facility fee that they said was disclosed on expedia; after review of the expedia site, we did […] see the extra fee in tiny print off to the side mixed with the pop-ups. Very sneaky. Room was small, beds uncomfortable, pillows thin and cheap, unable to control room temperature after numerous attempts: the hotel in general was extrememly hot. We were also never able to connect to the "free" wireless; the connection was down every time we tried. Whatever you do-don't order room service! $14.00 for a waffle is price gauging at the least. "Pretty nice overall"
This is a very nice and quick retreat from the craziness of DC. I was happy overall but I was a little disappointed with the hidden resort fee cost that was added to what I paid through expedia. "Wonderful!"
I have stayed at many hotels in the area & for a budget hotel this one is delightful. (Much much better than a budget hotel!) Nice king room, loved the bed & pillows, breakfast was bargain & offers more than most continentals. Service was top notch! I highly recommend this beautiful hotel. "Very nice hotel, some issues"
When we got there We didnt get the room we had booked (I had booked a king size bed and got two double) after some fight they gave us a room with a king size bed. "Okay"
We thought that the hotel room was just okay. It had a weird smell to it. I also do not think they cleaned the room very well, b/c there was trash on the floor. The hotel food was also just okay. Great stay in Loudon county -- close to the wineries and to downtown Leesburg. However, two issues: the AC was odd and kept the room really damp and the $20 resort fee per night. $20 per night to pay for the privilege of using the pool and the gym, neither of which we used. The hotel is definately five star. We were taken by surprise when a balance due was placed under our door prior to check out. Upon making the reservation the "complimentary" ammenities included wi-fi, self parking, water, etc., ONLY to be billed AGAIN from the hotel. We never used the wi-fi or consumed the water. Over-priced for what it was. Decent room, toilet handle needed to be fixed. Service was good and staff very helpful but still expensive. Could hear much hallway noise from room. Dry-cleaned dress came back with ink spots on it that weren't there originally; was sent back and charges taken off bill, but still waiting to see whether new (worn once) $200 […] dress was permanently ruined (dress is being being shipped to me now). Awful how they make you pay $20 a day for a facility fee. Should be built into the price of room. Probably would not stay there again. Nice golf course and resturaunt was very good at the hotel. We live in Baltimore and wanted to get away for the weekend. The hotel staff was very friendly and customer oriented. We had a nice dinner the night we arrived followed by a few drinks and games in the onsite bar.
