I can't say enough great things about this hotel! The location is perfect - just far enough away from Bourbon St. to avoid the noise and crowds. The setting is beautiful with inner courtyards and 2 pools, and tables to eat your complimentary breakfast. Rooms have such ambiance with high ceilings and balconies. This is an old building so it is not very sound proof. The bed was very comfortable and the staff helpful. They upgraded us to another room so we could check in early and they called out cabs for us.

We stayed in the rooms across the street from the lobby. The temperature dropped overnight and the A/C unit would only produce cold air, and the room stayed quite cold. Not a lot of amenities. The valet left my hybrid vehicle's battery on and we had to get a jump the next day. Very basic rooms.

The front desk was extremely helpful and pointed out what sites to see, very knowledgeable. Everything was very clean in the room and main area. It was nice not to be on Bourbon Street due to the noise, so it was nice to come back to a quiet Hotel.

The phone didn't work. Wire for picture hanging used to hold curtain over the windon on the door, room was the size of a nice closet. was told king sized room was all that was left and I paid almost 500 $ for 2 nights, this is not a specific rate so I expect to see this on the sight as people have a right to know what they will be getting and dealing […] with and I got a bed that didn't seem as big as a double bed. Wiring haning off baseboard with open box for the tv and telepone. The continental Breakfast that was to be set up by 6:30 had 4 bagels and a pile of cold biscuits out by 7 , no cream cheese for bagels later a few donuts a couple of pasteries showed up and a sack of apples was laying on the table not set up on the bar . Usually a continental breakfast has several types of fruit in a serving bowl with several pastery types as well as hot biscuits and cream cheese and bagels. For the money i spend this was a horrible vacation as far as the place we stayed was concerned ! A couple of the men at the front dest were not especially nice , rude and not worried about my displeasure with thier hotel . 2 of them were nice and offered to get another room the next day but it never happened. My husband and I chose this hotel for our wedding night. We were on a budget and there were a lot of people in the city that weekend, so this was the most affordable option. Some other hotels' lowest priced rooms that weekend were 4 times as expensive as ours! Being one of the budget rooms, it was TINY! The bathroom sink was about the size of a phone […] book, and I could close the toilet lid, sit on it and wash my face in the sink with moderate comfort. The tub was quite roomy though. The uncomfortable, full size bed took up about half the room. I didn't see any AC, but on a mild night in April, breeze from outside and the ceiling fan were adequate. The best part was our little narrow balcony that was right above the three flags on the front of the hotel. It had the tall, skinny double doors that are so characteristic of the French Quarter. The building is very old and the hotel is well situated in the heart of the quarter. It is close enough to all the entertainment, but far away enough that the night noise cannot be heard. The lemon water and apples in the lobby were a nice thing to have late at night or on the way out of the door. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially in storing all our baggage in a locked room after we checked out so we could wander the area. In all, it was a great experience for our first time staying in the Quarter. We are thinking of booking this hotel again for our one year anniversary, but hopefully, a slightly larger room next time! Rooms were quite large but old and stuffy. A mini-fridge in some rooms but not in ours. Staff was very friendly. Parking was expensive and took a long time - but that can be expected in the French Quarter. Hotel was just a few blocks from Bourbon Street and Jackson Square in a fairly quiet neighborhood.

Clean, quiet and charming. Close enough to everything, yet far enough away from the noise. Missed having a hair dryer in the room, but had one in the trunk, so no problem for us. Patrick, the busperson, was fabulous and put this place over-the-top in our book. Would recommend this place and will come back again!

Adorable hotel complex with 2 beautiful pools (we weren't able to use them, too cold outside). Staff was friendly and helpful. Every room has the name of a different jazz legend on it, which was cute. The neighborhood and proximity to the heart of the french quarter was amazing!!! Never got the feeling I was walking through some sketchy part of town […] on the way back to the hotel at any hour. 1 block away from beautiful Armstrong park with some awesome statues of jazz/blues legends. Yes, the room was very tiny... only 1 mirror which was a little annoying when i wanted to do my makeup and my bf was using the bathroom. Walls are very thin, could hear the room below's tv which made it hard to sleep but we just turned up the fan... don't go here if you're high maintenance or need a guaranteed good night's rest, but then again its NOLA and you have to expect that you could be rooming next to party animals wherever you stay. The staff were not friendly at all except the Bellman. Staff acted as though they were very unhappy to be there and not friendly at all. Don't expect "hugs and kisses", but a smile would be nice. I spoke to a couple of staff and they didn't even respond. Also, I can park in New York cheaper than there. Parking is way overpriced.

When I booked by room I looked at the reviews that the hotel had recieved. They were not good so I called the main desk and asked about the holes under the doors that sm animals could run under. They assured me that I was in a renevated room and that it would not be a problem. Also I was told of the free parking available [first come first serve] Upon […] arrival I when to my renivated room that sm rodants could run under the door. I when back to the desk and voiced my displeasure showing them the wonderful picture shown on the site that I booked my room from, I stated that I wanted that room. They told me that I could up grade for another 75.00. That room was no better. The room in the picture was a fake, the said that they don't furnish the picture for the web sites that also book rooms for them.. On the second day the sewer from the upstairs started to leak and drip down into our bathroom and run out into the bedroom area. When we contacted the front desk they said that they did'nt know what to do. We told them to go shut the water off up above duh. The free parking turned out to be 35.00 per day because they recently had new owners and they changed the policy. We parked there and waited over an hour to get our car which we could see sitting directly accros the street. I left early and my kids stayed, I would not recommend this place any enemy of mine. Very well located. We parked at a nearby parking garage instead of the hotel because it was cheaper, and you can walk or take a short cab ride to the tourist attractions from the hotel. The hotel is older, but in a charming, New Orleans way. Just be prepared for the rooms to be a bit smaller. The hotel was clean. Would stay again.

Not a comfortable or productive stay at all. The online information said the room had a hair dryer (nope) and iron/ironing board (nope) and included wireless internet (big nope). They expected me to work in the tiny breakfast room all evening and into the night instead of from my room because it was too far to receive the wireless connection. Check-in received key abd issued a club type wrist band. Guest had to wear a wrist band the entire stay due to Mardi Gra. If you we're caught with out the wrist band you were charged $20. Also, upon check out valvet hit a light poll in my car (refund $40 a night parking fees)..valet manager gave us paper on St. Pierre fixing the damage. Great location; […] however, staff was awful on giving directions to the room and instead of historic St. Pierre you have a poor maintenance room that looks nothing like the photos on display. We went to this hotel on an evening, and the neighborhood it was in appeared to be pretty dangerous. The clerk at duty was unhelpful and didn't say one more word than necessary to give us our keys. Later he went on to smoke by the hotel entrance. The room we were in was super small. Worse, it smelled like old and wet temperature. The bathroom was extremely […] small as well, with yellowish scratches all over the bathtub. The TV was a joke - a 12 inch that looks like from the 80s. Then we saw a RAT running in the room. Great location on the edge of the French Quarter and the parking is included. However, the parking is a first come first basis and its a small lot. But I checked in early and parked the car for two days while I enjoyed walking around the French Quarter and rode the RTA around all day for a mere $3.
