"Really nice place to stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
I was very happy on how nice the hotel was. Everything exceeded my expectations. It's not like the Ritz, but it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely stay there again!
"great for business travler"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Very anticeptic - strictly business. Kind of out of the way, not within walking distance of anything. New - everything works - food at hotel fair. Go here if you are on business, not for entertainment. It is perfect for getting stuff done without distractions.

"I wouldn't go back even for half the cost."
I booked this hotel after reading the other reviews on Hotels.com. I am not sure if things have changed at this hotel but I am not one to get scared off by a hotel and this was one that I woudl have left if my reservation hadn't been paid for already. The first room they gave me (room 226) smelled so bad that I had to ask for a new room. The second […] room was better but I was counting the time until I woke up and got out of there. I am not a hotel snob but it was old and the renovations that had been done were lackluster to say the least. I woudln't recomment this hotel. For an additional $20 per night, get a room at the Holiday Inn in Calgary. Read more
"A very good value in Calgary near University/train"
I can't quite believe some of the scary reviews here, maybe some drastic change has occurred but this place is clean, orderly, a good value certainly. Thai food, a bar, breakfast, free very solid wireless internet service, train is just across the street, several restaurant choices within a one-two block walk. It is about 15-20 mins via train to downtown, […] cost $2.75, clean modern train service! Plenty of parking too, staff friendly and helpful, my room with full size bed, roomy enough, very clean room and bath. Coffee in the room. I'd go back for sure for the cost and if you need to be near university area, well you're there. Bad- pool is big and in the middle of the hotel so, all the main rooms hear pool noise if kids are in it screaming! They have some back rooms that are VERY quiet however. Safe area too by the way, totally walkable. Again, I recommend, cost was low per night during a very busy convention week when every room in town was booked. Read more

"Great room for the money"
More than met our needs for overnight to get to the airport in the a.m. Nice indoor pool - excellent Thai restaurant.
"Needs Improvement"
The outside of the hotel was extremely dirty - both the entrance and the parking lot. It creates a very poor first impression. The room was small with uncomfortable chairs. The lobby and breakfast area reeked of chlorine from the pool that is in that area and not enclosed. I watched one of the housekeeping staff through all of the clean towels and sheets […] onto the floor in the hallway and then restack them - I was appalled. Read more
"Not a good place to stay while in Renovations"
I was staying at this hotel, while on business. I was a single female staying there and they are in the middle of renovations. They put me in a back room on the outskirts of the hotel and I needed to walk through some sketchy areas. The hallway that I needed to walk down to get to my room, and it did not feel safe. I requested a different room, closer […] to the main area and the front desk accommodated me, but it was a struggle. They did move me, so it was good in the end, but not a real nice hotel for the money. Read more
"Noisy and bad parking."
I asked for a bottom level floor so I could park in front of it. They hotel was under construction (I wasn't told when I made the reservation) Other cars were parking in front of my room. I was unable to park anywhere near my door.
"Quality Inn University Calgary, AB"
This hotel is currently under renovation. The room was updated and perfectly acceptable, although a thorough cleaning needs to be done. The hallway rugs were very dirty and the corridoors near our room are dingy. We had parked at the rear of the building near our room, with key access entry from the lot. I drop off stuff in the room and go back to help […] my husband with the rest, but all exit doors say they are alarmed - emergency exit only. I can't get out, he has no key, so I have to go through a maze of hallways to the front desk to see how I get out and am told the doors aren't alarmed anyway, it is just a deterrent. To who? your paying guests? Stupid system - why didn't they just tell me that at check-in and save me all the running around! Read more
"Quality Inn - Calgary, AB"
Very nice reception & cleaning staff. Would certainly stay again....
"quality hotel calgary"
Nice hotel, breakfast, room, pool area unique comfortable. Only problem my room had a comprressor or pump noise running about every 20 minutes for 5 minutes. About 4 in the morning got annoying and did not get a solid sleep as I thought it would eventually stop. My assumption was wrong. Hotel maintenance-fix this before someone not so understanding […] stays in room 126. Guests stay away from this room if you are a light sleeper. Read more
"Great Value"
There are 3 hotels in a row. I stayed next door once. This one is an amazing value and has recently redecorated the rooms.

"Quality Inn University - best bang for the buck"
Great value for the price paid. Clean, comfortable, and a great continental breakfast selection.
"Disappointed"
Essentially this is just a pretty ordinary motel. The only redeeming feature is the proximity of the railway into the city centre

"A pragmatic choice for U of Calgary visits"
Good value for money. Quiet. The Thai restaurant in the building is good. Close to the U of C campus.
"1 week stay"
A hotel can usually be very acceptable for one night. I stayed for 8 days and found that it was great all around. The room was cleaned daily and I think the whole hotel was very wekll kept. iw ould return without question and have already recommended it to others. The shopping mall was very close-within walking distance and the Skytrain was right accross […] the street-I went to the hockey game and felt very safe with travelling around by myself Read more
"Not special but very nice room"
We flew from Vancouver to go to the rockies. We chose this hotel because we wanted to be closer to where we were heading. The hotel was easy to find. The hotel was surrounded by many other hotels nearby. There were some places to eat around such as Tim Hortons and Subway with many more restaurants.Safeway was 3 min drive which was good for us to get […] something to bring for the road trip. We booked 2 rooms and they were connecting room. The bathroom was convinient because in the bathroom, there were toilet and bathtub, not the hand washing area. In this way one could have shower while the other wash face or whatever. The swimming pool was big, but it was right center of the buidling.the pool was surrounded by all the room's door, so if you are in the swming pool and someone come out from their room, you could see each other easily , which I feel not good about. You could also smell the 'pool chemical' smell once you enter the entrance, or out of your room. The breakfast was small. we didn't need any ticket , we just had to turn up. They only had some bread, muffins, bagles and coffee and drinks,apples.. It's ok because it's free. You don't want to pay for that breakfast. It's better to have it, but it could be a bit better.
