Shops, galleries, eateries, and historic buildings comprise downtown and combine with surrounding inns and cottages to create a picturesque fishing village. The surrounding Acadia National Park affords opportunities for hiking, snowshoeing, and even cross-country skiing.see all hotels in Bar Harbor
This is an older hotel. The maintenance shows it. The rooms are adequate and clean which is all you can really ask for at the price. Don't be fooled by the water view rooms. They are all water view...after you look out over an abandoned warehouse. Breakfast area is way too smallGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Only ok for a 1-nighter!"
Overall our stay was ok. The hotel is conveniently located at the main road into Bar Harbor! But if we ever return we would not stay at the hotel again because its cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Cobwebs in the hallway leading to the upper rooms. All carpeting, especially the outside one is very dirty and often frayed. The room smelled musty, […] peeling paint, bathtub was very dingy, a washcloth had fallen into the toilet. At least the heater worked very well and the desk staff was very friendly. Breakfast was basic, but ok if you just want a bagel or a piece of pastry. As mentioned it is ok if you use it for a night, but not for a long-term stay. The hotel has oceanview but you also enter the room from that side, so you can't really enjoy the view fronm the room unless you are fine with having people walk by your window peeking in. At night you had to close the curtains for privacy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic motel in the outskirts of Bar Harbor"
Fair priced considering the competition. But not much in terms of comfort and location. Somewhat isolated from the town itself and somewhat outdated. The internet only worked in public areas and breakfast is mediocre. Still you get a fairly clean albeit small room and the price is acceptable. If you're just there for Acadia, the location is fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for the money"
Last minute reservations doesn't get you much, but it was a room to sleep on overnight. Shower was dirty, air conditioning wasn't working, never enough room to sit for breakfast and there isn't really any room with an ocean view. They fixed the air conditioner fairly quickly. Pretty much ok for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Short drive to downtown, view not so good"
PROS: The staff was VERY friendly and nice. Super helpful and very informative. I personally liked being just outside of the hustle of downtown and closer to the Acadia Park entrance. Some will find this a drawback, but I preferred it. CONS: The room had a dehumidifier in it and even though it was clean it had a very musty smell. The "ocean" view, well […] it leaves a lot to be desired. You are actually looking at what appears to be an abandoned ship port. Not appealing at all. For the price, it was tolerable, considering we were way under the cost of other hotels in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
No sound proofing in rooms. Could hear people outside as though they were right beside you. Ocean view description is deceiving as you look out at an abandoned property & ocean is quite far away. Rate it 1 out of 10!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great breakfast and nice staff"
It was okay - room was clean - the breakfast was abundant - staff were friendly and location was convenient. It was a good deal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice all around hotel"
Room was very comfy, clean, grounds around the building were well kept. Only complaint was the amount of parking available on site, it was 4th of July weekend however. There was overflow parking down the street at the Regency. (it was full too lol) 20min walk from town, within driving distance of everything on the island. Staff was polite and courteous. […] Continental breakfast was very good for the price of the hotel, expected less, was a pleasant surprise. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Loved Acadia/Bar Harbor, hope to be here again next year. "Not too bad"
Quite a good hotel for a traveller like me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room seemed damp, smelled musty. There was a dehumidifier in the room but it did not work. Otherwise the room was clean and a good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very close to acadia national park. hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating.also close to lobster restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tired facility in need of a refresh"
The staff was great, the facility not so. Almost every aspect of the room and building is in need of repair, replacement, or repainting; furniture damaged, plumbing drips, exterior doors that don't fit; old lumber and junk scattered around the exterior of the building. It's amazing that the Days Inn company doesn't "lean" on this franchisee to refurbish […] or lose their franchise. There are a number of independent facilities immediately adjacent to this motel; if time permits, do some research and take a pass on this one. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall the stay was alright. However, the advertising about ocean front view was a little misleading. I did see the ocean but that's about it.. The room was a little smaller than I would have liked, especially for four people. The Continental Breakfast was real skimpy. When you book a room for four there should at least be enough bath linens for all […] four. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We were at Bar Harbor for 5 days, the hotel is close to the scenic area and very easy to access. Great service. The front desk staff were very helpful. Breakfast is good. The room is comfortable. Does need some improvement. We definitely will stay there again next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel staff fabulous!!"
We had everything we needed. Not fancy by any standards, but clean and quiet. The front desk manager was EXCEPTIONAL. Her name is Karen and she jumped through hoops to help with several changes and a problem with our debit card. The staff was more than accomodating throughout our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was the only room I could get at the last minute and it was WAY overpriced- the room smelled like mildew, we couldnt' close the front window and when it thunderstormed overnight, the bathroom window leaked. There was hardly any room between the sink and the toilet, the bath was missing a bunch of grout and the bedroom was REALLY small. Won't be […] going to another Days Inn if I can help it. Staff was very nice, always smiling and pleasant. Ocean view nice, but an abandoned building and pier kind of soured the view. Can use the amenities across the street, which included pool, jacuzzi, gym and a small laundramat. It's not within walking distance to the main part of Bar Harbor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Toilet broke twice within 24 hours and had to change one room and toilet ran in other room. Personnel very pleasant and helpful but hotel was a bit disappointingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
First off I want to say I'm sorry for not believing the previous reviewers. You were right to give it poor reviews. This hotel is a dump, plain and simple it is a dump. Yes it is cheaper than most other options, but for $40 extra per night go elsewhere. The staff was very friendly and proffesional, but the hotel is just a dump. Our room stunk, the carpeting […] was old and smelly, the bed was worn out, the sheets were threadbare, the bathroom was a mess, the whole thing was dirty and stunk to high heaven. We booked 5 nights, stayed for 1, then transfered to the Holiday Inn across the streat, they must be affiliated with them as it was a seemless switch and they transfered the reservation for us, very proffesional. The staff was nice and proffesional, it is just that the hotel is in such old worn out condition that it will need a major overhaul to get up any kind of decent standard. Please do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK for the price. There are better choice."
The facility can use some update both inside and outside. Breakfast is fine though space is limited.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"well located but poor maintenance!"
Because it's the same owner, we could use the pool and spa of the Holiday Inn just across the street, witch was really nice and very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"false advertising on several issues."
laundry, restaurant were all available off site. Same owner must own Holiday Inn across a very busy road, but that's were the laundry facility, workout room and pool were that we were suppose to use. It listed as having these features. The restaurant was clear down town simply owned by the same. Front desk was run by foreign students who couldn't take […] any action. Wireless internet was down 3 of the 3 days we were there. Different excuse was given everyday. Finally, they called and it was up and running briefly. I wouldn't list this facility if I were you. Totally unhappy with stay. Students tried, but couldn't help. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
For the price this hotel was nice, good location, nice size room but could use some updating of the furniture and improvements on the 2nd floor deck. Desk staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was adequate, room appeared to be renovated. Bathroom did not have an exhaust fan, leaving window open does not help. We had a difficult time understanding staff. We did have one young lady who brought us towels and air mattress, very polite and professional.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for a couple of nights"
The hotel was clean and provided a good breakfast. I stayed only one night and was satisfied, but if I was going to stay in Bar Harbor longer I would have choosen somewhere a little more comfortable overall. Close to attractions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel for the price"
It was very nice. When we booked it we didn't realize that the pool etc. was across the street at the Holiday Inn.. Although it was a bit of a schlep, we enjoyed the amenities and ambiance of the Holiday Inn. The staff at the Days Inn was very nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not good quality for the money. Rug needed to be cleaned - kind of disinfectant smell. Wouldn't stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location - about a 15 minute walk to Downtown Bar Harbor, 5 minute drive to Acadia National Park. Located along the free bus route; pick up is located at the Regency Hotel across the street. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Could work on cleanliness, there were a couple of cup ring stains on the bedside table. Room had a humidifier running […] the whole time due to humidity from the ocean. Limited parking, but you can also park at the hotels across the street. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Run Forrest! Run!!!"
Don't do it! This place is a dive; there is no amount of redecorating could bring new life to it either. The location isn't bad - it just needs to be torn down. My room was clean (although I didn't want to walk on the floor barefoot) and the staff was nice - those are the only nice things I can say about this place. There were cast off parts lying in […] the stairwell (microwaves, window ac units, other miscellany). It's just a sad old motel. Keep looking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is in a great location. Although the hotel states oceanview rooms the view is obstructed. The hotel room was tiny. The king sized bed filled the room. The staff very friendly and helpful. Adequate parking but a small lot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"smells like mildew"
Upon opening a difficult to open door first impression was the smell of mildew. Dehumidifier in room was a dead giveaway there were issues. Turned on heat to dry air and the room filled with a burned smell. Room way too small to accomadate king size bed. Bathroom light switch would be better inside bath so as not to disturb sleepers with sudden blast […] of light. Very noisy hotel You can hear whats going on in all surroundig rooms especially the one above. Also can hear passing cars. Ocean view dissappointing at best. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Days Inn - Bar Harbor, ME"
The rooms have exterior doors and are smaller rooms. Beds were OK. The only problem we had was the traffic noise from the road which starts about 5:30 a.m. They have a nice little breakfast, rolls, muffins, breads, but it is a very small breakfast room so we took our food back to the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"At least it was clean!"
The hotel is 1.5 miles from Bar Harbor village. We like to walk so it was the perfect distance. The hotel is also on the free bus line. The hotel itself was a good place to sleep. The furniture had been updated but the bathroom needed help. It was clean and a place to sleep after a long day of site seeing. If you are looking for luxury, forget it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A reasonable hotel in a very pricy area"
The hotel was convenient to where we wanted to be, but it was older, and had a musty smell in the room. Thank goodness we could open a window at night to get the wonderful ocean air. An adequate room for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Motel from 1970's. Yikes..... never again."
Good continental breakfast. comfortable clean bed. Toilet cloged twice- they listed the hotel as an ocen view- sure you can see the ocean across the street in the distance where the nice hotel occupies all the space- parking was terrible- luckily we had rented a small car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Days Inn Bar Harbor"
The hotel is a good value for the price we paid. It is also conveniently located to both DT Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. You can almost leave your car at the hotel to get around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There was a bed bug in the bathroom. The room had a very foul smell also.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Days Inn Bar Harbor"
Good value. A little bit of road noise and crowed breakfast area, but not a big deal. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed 2 nights. Felt like home, yes the linens were dirty and old. Looks like it was not changed in last 4 years I bet. Just washed and reused (I hope). Close to where I wanted to go, thats all to it. New linens and pillow covers could go long way. Also clean all the junk in the steps , that stinks. Breakfast was eatable , but nothing fancy about it. […] Small place to eat. I had to share the table with strangers and listen to their yapping. !! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Days Inn in Bar Harbor, ME - best location, price"
The Days Inn was a great location and within Bar Harbor, ME. Good hotel for the price and location. The rooms were decent. The only issue I had was with the Continental Breakfast there were only 4 tables to sit and one was in use by a couple using their laptops.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel in good location can get the explorer bus free at the Holiday Inn oposit Days Inn. Also can use facilities at the Holiday Inn. Whale Watch was exceptional. Been on two whale watches before but have never seen them so close.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel in Bar Harbor"
Rooms were in need of repair. The bathroom tub mat was peeling off, flooring was separating from tub and the room smelled very musty. Staff was friendly and helpful. You may want to expand and add more room and tables in your dining area. it was small and people were standing to wait for tables to sit at. Others took their food and went to their ro […] oms. The first room smelled, moved up stairs. No smell but, the front door had paint peeling off. The (small) TV's remote control would't work. The second control worked sometimes at two feet away. I read the reviews before our trip, but didn't head the warnings. Drive Pass By This Hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the Price"
