"Great hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
As usual, Red Roof Inn failed to disappoint me when I have looked for a balance between cost and decency of accommodation. Indeed, it is the best value for the buck and goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. I had to change my booking and then check out early due to personal reasons but the hotel didnt flinch but rather gave me (through Hotels.com) a full refund for unspent nights. Needless to say, I will prefer to stay here when I can.
"Great value, beautiful views"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We enjoyed the convenient location(right on the Endicott campus). Literally a short walk to the beach. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bed was listed as Queen size but it was actually a full size which was a bit small for the two of us. Otherwise, very enjoyable and would stay there again.
"Very nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Our son goes to college close by and we would stay here again. Very clean, staff was very nice and the breakfast was a bonus. Easy to get to and plenty of places to eat close by.

"wonderful staff & great location"
...my husband & I were staying at the hotel with our 8 month old daughter & our 100 pound dog so we were expecting chaos. Our stay ended up being very relaxing & enjoyable thanks to the amazing staff at the Colonnade. We stayed on the floor that allows pets & they brought us a huge dog bed & even offered to walk our pooch if we were going to leave w/out […] him for an extended period of time. For our daughter we were provided a crib & sheets & 2 rubber duckies for her bath. I did not see one person who worked at the Colonnade who did not have a smile on their face the entire time we were there. It was lovely & we will definitely return the next time we decide to visit Boston! Read more

Nice place--friendly service
"Great St. Patty's Day!"
My husband and two friends of mine stayed at the Colonnade Hotel on St. Patty's day - we had a great time!!! We started at the bar/restaurant at the Colonnade because our room was not ready. We had some cheese fondue and green beer! The fondue was delicious! They made a special sandwich that was not on the menu for my husband. We had a blast at the […] bar. Then we headed out for the night - the hotel is right in Back Bay - step outside and you have bars, restaurants, and stores at your fingertips. It is a beautiful area. And the Amtrak train is in walking distance so if you are from NYC - this is a great hotel choice! It is expensive but it is worth it if you are able to get a good price. Read more

"Quick Biz Trip"
Nice place and convenient.
"Lovely, comfortable hotel in fun area"
The Colonnade was wonderfully comfortable and convenient. Everyone from the porter to the front desk folks were kind and accommodating, and my room was large yet cozy. I wanted to be close to the MFA so the location was perfect, just a 15 minute walk from there. The shopping mall across the street is great and there are nice restaurants in the neighborhood. […] The restaurant in the Colonnade is great as well. Will definitely return! Read more

Excellent in every way

I would recommend the hotel with reservation. Clean and conveniently located for the meeting I was attending. However, it was loud with thin walls. I woke from every neighboring room's wake up call and any one in the corridor. Plus, the heat was on despite warm weather. It was explained that the building was old and only one system at a time could be […] operational. In this case, heat. The thermostat was set at 68 while the room temp was 78 degrees and the heat would still kick on! Read more

"Affordable Luxury"
This hotel seemed first rate in many respects. It was not exactly in the historical/bay attraction area that was our intention, but definitely on the tour route which made for good access to Boston in general. The staff was super and didn't blink or hesitate when asked for special assistance.
"Great Bar & Beds!"
First time in Boston! Trolley picks up right outside door. Husband and I had a wonderful time. Shopping one block up the street, Prudential Bldg. right across the street with great view! Had a great time in a beautiful city. The beds were to die for! Looked forward to jumping in after a long day touring. All personnel very friendly from doorman, bellman, […] reception, everyone! You can tell Boston is one well-loved city by its residents. Nice to see. Read more

One word - Fabulous! Was concerned that we would get stuck into some tiny room as a result of "online" booking but to the contrary! Room was wonderful - the staff is so friendly and helpful - great exercise room and roof top pool. Will definitely return again!

good location. Parking a little inconvienent
"small rooms and not a 4 star hotel"
The room was extremely small and we paid for a deluxe room. I'm not sure what could have been the difference between the deluxe and a regular room. We were located in the very back of the hotel around a corner with a closet for a bathroom. In addition, we had to wait for this room to be ready even though it was just 30 minutes prior to stated check […] in time. It seemed like we were put in a more run down room because of booking through hotels.com. The beds were really small and were very hard. I've had more comfortable beds and larger rooms in Europe if you can imagine that. The door knob to the bathroom was loose, the toilet didn't flush, the tub didn't drain, and the room was extremely dark due to poor lighting as well as the window looking out on the adjacent building. The maid was suppose to change the sheets every three days but, only changed them once in an eight day visit. The furniture in the lobby was dirty and needed cleaning. It definitely is not a 4 star hotel and I've stayed in 3 star hotels which are cleaner and include breakfast. I liked the area and it was convenient to the subway, shopping, restaurants, etc. Plus, all of the tours (i.e. duck tour, hop on/off buses) stopped nearby. In addition, there is a grocery store only a block away which came in handy. Overall, an okay place to stay due to location but, definitely overpriced compared to some of the other places to stay nearby. Read more

"The Colonnade Hotel - Boston - Best Service"
Most helpful concierge, bellman and front desk EVER when our car broke down and we had multiple unexpected problems. Made wonderfully thoughtful and helpful accommodations and made an otherwise unpleasant problem much easier to deal with.
Air Conditioner was loud and we had to shut it off so we could sleep. that was our only concern. we thought of calling the front desk but were to tired to wait for maintenance or to be moved to another room. thought of the benefit we may have received like a courtesy, mentioned it the next morning when checking out as we were asked, but no courtesy was […] extended. "Great spot in the Back Bay / South End"
I've stayed here several times. This place is always great. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and very clean. The location is actually great. Easy access to the the Pru, Boylston St, as well as the South End neighborhood. Easy driving access to 90 and if you want to go to Fenway, super easy way to head up and get there […] via the back entrances, avoiding all the people. Read more
"loved it!"
colonnade was a great choice - location close to newbury, T, copley, etc. rooms were beautiful and spacious. concierge extremely helpful. would definitely stay there again.
"Nice Room"
Room not ready at 3pm. Sent us up to the Roof Pool to wait. They could have sprung for the iced tea. And since I didn't have a room yet, I could not charge it.. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated in a contemporary style.Breakfast better than my normal expectation for hotel food.
"Great Stay"
Our family loved our 2 night stay at the Colonnade. Great location. Easy access to subway and an easy walk to Fenway Park. Room was perfect for the four of us. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Arrived early to hotel and our room was ready for us. Would stay here again!

"The Colonnade Hotel Back Bay - Friendly staff"
The Colonnade Hotel was modern, clean, and in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was not a huge fan of the bathroom doors, but the roof top pool is very nice. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others visiting Boston.

"Very poor sleeping conditions"
Wait until you hear and feel EVERY door on your floor closing throughout the night. We were constantly startled throughout the night and morning by anyone closing their door. Even rooms ten away from yours rattle your walks when they close their room door. Do not stay here, terrible sleeping conditions, trust me'.

"Beds not as advertized"
The hotel advertises 2 queen beds...but in actuality the beds were full sized beds...rooms are small also.

"Very nice place to stay in Boston"
I got an excellent rate at the Collonade. Even with wintry, rainy weather during my 4 days in Boston, I had a great time. The hotel has a central Back Bay location - steps from the Prudential stop on the T, a block from shopping (and warmth) at the Prudential Center, and a few blocks from Copley Plaza. I was able to walk to many of the adjoining neighborhoods […] with ease and safely. The 10 floor room was spacious for one, very clean and adequately furnished. The staff were consistently friendly without being overbearing. Read more
"A very hip and modern hotel- The Colonnade"
My cousin picked this hotel. When i arrived i asked for a nice room and got one on the 10th floor facing the city with a wall of windows...great bed (king), place to put ur ipod in the clock radio, good mini bar with available wine glasses, corkscrew, and stuff like that. U do not have to play for these. Bathroom was marble and nice....just a great […] experience....across the street from the mall .....close to all important things....even a trolley stop which was fantastic. Hotel offered bad rates but hotel.com came thru. Read more
"Make sure you stay in the right season"
With their wacky HVAC system, you only have heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. It was November so my only option was heat. Which I did not turn on as my room was as hot as a furnace. Really awful. I couldn't keep the windows open as it is on a loud street and they kept blowing shut anyway. Argh.
"Perfect Choice"
This hotel is in a great location. It was easy to get anywhere walking or on the subway. The closest subway station (Prudential) is literally a few steps away from the hotel entrance. There are restaurants, bars, a huge mall and a grocery store within walking distance. I was very impressed with my standard room. We had a great view through the floor […] to ceiling windows, comfortable beds and pillows and plenty of room. The staff was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and everything about this hotel and didn't want to leave! Read more

Great hotel, great location!
"Colonnade Boston Back Bay"
I paid for a Luxe King room but got a room with 2 full sized beds instead. The front desk said in the future I should book through the hotel directly instead of Hotels.com and that they will match the rate and guarantee the room. Hotels.com should drop them. The heating unit was very loud but maintenance fixed it quickly. No vending machines of any […] kind in the hotel and not even a bottle of water in the room unless you pay for the mini-bar. Overall the room was fine and the staff was courteous but it is somewhat overpriced and I would probably not stay there again. Read more
