"Did not have a choice and disappointed :("

My husband and I stayed here and we arrived late in the evening. We had been driving for 10 hours plus and could not find anywhere to stay due to everything being sold out by a convention. I booked the hotel over the main Ramada Inn number and was given a confirmation number and my credit card was charged; this was fine; but when we checked in there was not a reservation for us. The person behind the desk was not very knowledgeable, pleasant, but not very experienced. She finally did get us a room; the business suite. First of all I will say I was very uneasy with the patrons hanging around the hotel and a bar is down the street from the hotel. The set up of this hotel is not very guest friendly. The hotel is a renovated building that Ramada put their name on. It is not in the best part of town and the parking lot is across the street for the hotel so you have to cross over a road with traffic coming through. The parking lot is well lighted but no security to monitor it. The hotel guest check in is to the side of the building in a dark alley. The elevator was extremely slow and needed work. The A/C was not working very well in the hallways and elevator. Our room was actually decent. Nice comfortable bed, clean sheets, lights worked, but no glasses in the bathroom, the faucet sprayed in two different directions and needs work. The cable and TV were good and our A/C worked well. We were so tired that we did not have a choice and with everything being booked up due to a religious convention in most of PA. I would not recommend it and I think Ramada should take their name off this one. Sorry I do not usually complain or write reviews but thought folks and Ramada should be aware of this one. My husband and I travel quite a bit and will not stay here again. Sincerely, disappointed. :(
"Ok for Pottsville"

I gave this hotel an "average" rating because the location was convenient, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the amenities were adequate for our purposes. However, I was grossed out by the patch of black mold on the bathroom ceiling, the super dirty air conditioner/heat unit, and the, lets just say, less than white sheets. The "cleaning service" took our towels but didn't replace them nor did they clean. And the breakfast was almost not worth it. Now, we are pretty easy to please people and not complainers so we grinned and bared it but we won't be staying there again.
"Enjoyed Our Stay"

We were visiting PA family and Pottsville was sort of a mid point to our visits in various parts of the state. Our room was more than adequate, very well serviced and the bed very comfortable. We had fresh towels every day and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I only wish there would have been a swimming pool! The breakfast bar was well presented with good variety. The only improvement to the room was to have more available outlets. It seemed all my devices needed to be charged and just not enough outlets.
"What a dump"

This hotel needs more than an update. There are no windows..it's like being in prison. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The air conditioning did not work at all on a hot July day. The bedding and towels were threadbare....I was afraid to walk on the carpet in bare feet. We were there for a wedding in the area and they would not allow late checkout. The area is depressing...many homeless people in the area.

If i were to travel to Pottsville again, i would stay elsewhere. The staff was sparse (frustrating when your key doesn't work and you want to go to bed) and slow and often put down one another in front of guests. Also our room smelled damp.

"Ramada hotel stay"

Our room had stains on the carpet, water stains on the ceiling, smelled of smoke, bathroom had mold around toilet area baseboard and in caulk of tub. Outside of our room 426 the common rug was ragged and torn at seams. We were told when we booked reservations it was the last room available...however we noticed many vacant rooms with no activity.
"Don't unless you have no other choice"
Stayed there in a king suite for one night. Dragged luggage across the road up the stairs. No staff or bell captain to assist. No directions to assist my disabled mother up the stairs. How has this gone on so long without a handicap ramp. Check in and check our was quick. The petite lady with curly hair was pleasant. There were two ladies next morning, one of them (grey/blue eyed) looked drowsy or hung over as there was blank gaze and no hello, good morning or even a pretend smile on her face. Since it's the only game in town we paid a hefty price for such place. The hotel was not cheap considering that there were no amenities. The vending machines are outdated. Lost few bucks trying to get that stuck snack. I am not sure if this will be my choice again. Because it's the only deal around, I may look for a town nearby.

The staff was very helpful and nice our entire stay. We had 3 rooms and no on had any complaints about the rooms or the staff. This is our 3rd time staying at this hotel.
