Perfect for our Winterlude Festival weekend. A block and a bit from the canal for skating; a block and a bit the other way for lots of dining options. Residential area to the south, city hall and downtown to the north. Service wonderful. Staff wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable. Rooms, roomy, big and comfy.

Top rate service. Felt very comfortable staying there. Regret that it was only two days that I had booked.

Located close to Uni, downtown it's good value for the money. The hotel is a little old and the elevators are very slow, but otherwise there is not much to complain about. Helpful staff!

We had a wonderful time. We were able to walk to many spots in Ottawa. We have stayed there before and will stay there again.

I am so glad I chose this hotel after doing lots of research. I parked my car upon arrival and never needed to use it again for my entire stay! I was working on assignment in Kingston and two days prior to my departure, I told my wife to pack-up the kids and lets continue on to Ottawa. We researched locations and availability through an on-line service and found this Holiday Inn smack dab down town. We find it a very nice hotel close to center of Downtown Ottawa and very close to Rideau Canal. Rooms are OK - we had a junior suite a 16'th floor with a great view. I stayed here in April and the room was extremely hot due to the type of heating/cooling system they have. I was told that there was nothing they could do about it when the temperature was in the 4 - 12 degree C. range. In other words, when the outside temperature is moderate, the heating/cooling system cannot be adjusted, leaving it very uncomfortable. We arrived very late to the hotel and check in was fine and quick. We were not able to park on the property as there was no parking available so we ended up in an open lot that was expensive and had to haul all of our belongings to the hotel so as not to be vulnerable over night. This was my first time staying in a hotel and I couldnt have had a better experience. I was travelling to Quebec at night to celebrate my 18th birthday and it was fantastic, a quick 10 minute cab ribe and BAM I was in Quebec. The staff was amazing at the hotel. Myself and 2 friends recently stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Cooper St in Ottawa. We booked through hotels.com a few days before our arrival. Our check in was relatively smooth, Conor checked us in. We were told we would be given an upgrade, which we had requested on our reservation, which was great. When we got to our room, we realized that […] they had totally given us the wrong room, and not an upgrade at all. We called down to the desk to inquire, and were told someone would come 'up' to escort us to our new room. 20 minutes later we were escorted to our new room, given new keys. The man who checked us in asked for my address in the hotel elevator as we were taken to our new room which I found odd. He said it was for 'lost and found' purposes. I've never been asked my address for 'lost and found' purposes, and don't see why that is necessary when they have a phone number on file. Needless to say I did not give him my address. The next morning we went down for breakfast (it was included in our reservation) to find out we were supposed to have been given breakfast vouchers.. which we had not been given. So we went and got our vouchers, no problem. We then found out that Orange Juice is NOT included with breakfast!? WHAT? And it is $4.75 for a glass of orange juice! Ridiculous! Anyways, aside from those few glitches, our stay was pleasant. We had a very quiet room, and very comfy beds and pillows. The free internet access was great, but it is super slow and glitchy. The underground parking was a nice surprise (except its like $10/day), and the hotel is in a great location. We walked downtown every night for dinner. It takes ~15 minutes. Hotel was very nice and very clos to the canal which was great since we never had to take our car any where. Only draw backs were, poor lighting in room(i.e. only table and free standing lights). No ceiling lights. Plus, when we got to hotel there were no more parking spaces. Went to park at green P parking across the street. This automatted parking […] machine was a rip off. It says $ 13.00/day max. We got there at 5:00 pm on Friday and if i put dollar value at $39.00 that would only get me until 5:30 am on Sunday. I like this place, room is very good, big and bright, nice view. Service is ok. I like parking and location.

The suite was excellent , only wish we were staying longer to truly take advantage of all it had to offer

I arrived at the hotel and although my room was not ready, they were quick to suggest a different room that only had one bed instead of two but that was fine given the fact that I was travelling alone. The room was spacious and very clean. The neighbours were quite noisy in early morning but that only lasted about a 1/2 hour (noise from shower). I enjoyed to stay at this hotel, first I checked our bed for any bug and it was clean all the way to mattres. The room was comfort and cosy , and I liked the heated floor at the bathroom. Originally I purchased the room and breakfast on line and the breakfast menu is very good. the breakfast items averages about $12, I was ordering Complete Omellet, […] and my kids were ordering the pancake with bacon and egg. Kitchen and servers were very fast and friendly people. The only challange is parking. If you have a car rental and you donot want to pay 17 for hotel parking, you need to find a parking in the street it is mostly 1hour parking from 7am to 7 pm. however, the hotel offers a sign for the dashboard that you do not get ticket if you park during the hours. overall good place to stay and close to the parlemant hill Read more

Great location - in the middle of everything, yet quiet. The staff was very helpful. Nice gadgets in the room (fancy alarm clock, heater and all!)

Close to places of interest, but not too close, resulting in being a quiet place to stay... Also after we checked out, we were allowed to leave our car in the underground parking for the afternoon, that was really convenient. We will stay there again...

The service of the staff was great. Very helpful and accomodating without being pushy. Room was comfortable and spacious...loved the heated bathroom floors. The hotel is centrally located and easy to get around. Only downside was the fitness center is located in an unapealing corner of the basement and my wife didn't feel comfortable going alone.

I was really impressed with the room and surprised that there was a Kitchen in it.....Only thing missing was a table. Would have been nice to have a place to eat dinner. Other than that it was in walking distance to the Rideau Centre and the Byward Market...I will go back again!

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast next morning was more than we expected. Staff was professional. Rollaway cot was a bit lumpy and we had to call twice for an extra towel. Overall quite pleasant and will recommend to others.

It was our second time to stay at the Holiday Inn. The room was very spacious and very clean. Room service was excellent. Some of the staff even remembered us from our first visit and told us about festivals taking place that weekend. The food was great at hotel restaurant - enjoyed the scrumptious breakfasts - yummy!!!

Miscommunication about room, Parking $17.00 day was not noted anywhere (either site), rooms were dimly lit, TV did not work properly.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Downtown Ottawa recently with my wife and daughter. The hotel is in a great location close to everything including Parliament Hill and the Market. The room was a Queen Suite with a kitchen and a pull out couch in the living room. Only inconvenience was the bathroom was actually in the bedroom so my daughter had […] to come through there to use the washroom during the night. Not a big deal, but seemed a strange layout. Hotel was very busy because the kids were being dropped off for University, but that didn't impact us. The Parking lot was overflowing, but the hotel made sure everyone had a spot. I had rented the a king executive suite last weekend for one night only. At first glance the room looked very nice, and the view of the parliament buildings was incredible. After turning the lights on I can see that that carpets are slightly stained but this didnt discomfort me as it wasn't that bad. Our shower/bath stall did not drain and needed to […] be unclogged before use. Also there is no ventillation in the bathroom. This again was not that big of a problem. For the amount of money I had paid, I was unhappy. I think without the great view I luckily recieved, I'd feel I had overpaid by maybe $40. Breakfast was delicious, but don't offer me all I can drink free coffee but then tell me juice will cost me. Juice... seriously should not cost me anything when I spend that amount of money. OH one more thing, the shower stall is made for a 5 foot person. I'm 6'2" and had to duck down a considerable amount to get my head under the shower head. Read more

Close to all sights and restaurants. Comfortable and clean. Pleasure to stay! Included breakfast in the deal, which was excellent. Only problem was with parking, not enough spaces.

We've stayed at this hotel before and love it's proximity to downtown and the Rideau Canal. One thing we did have trouble with during our stay was their Internet service. Quite frankly it was almost always unusable for the 5 days we were there. If you require reliable Internet connectivity while away do not stay here. hotel room was very nice. i am happy with the costumer service at checkout when there was a parking charge issue. Without argument the fee was waved. great hotel and great customer service from front desk, to the elevator person, to the cleaning people! GO LEAFS GO!!!

What can you ask more at any hotel stay?? Friendly staffs greet you the moment you walk into the hotel lobby and assist you to your need. Decor was quite old fashioned, and it needed some redecorating, but the staff were very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is convenient - only a 10-15 min walk from Parliament Hill and the main shopping areas.

Les chambres sont poussiéreuses surtout en ouvrant les rideaux face au soleil levant. Nous avons tous eu une certaine forme de réaction allergique à la poussière. Il y a une cuisinette mais il n'y avait pas de table ni chaise dans la chambre alors à quoi bon.

Hissarna var lite slitna men det var väl det som var dåligt. Hotellet ligger på en enkelriktad gata som kan ställa till det lite, när man kör bil. Men annars helt okej.

Es un hotel en una localización muy buena para conocer una gran parte de la zona turistica de la ciudad

Nous étions 5 dans la chambre. En général ce fut bien mais les lits doubles sont petits quand nous sommes habitués à du Queen et les matelas étaient mous, on a eu un peu mal au dos au réveil. Le déjeuner à l'Hôtel n'était pas fameux. À part de ça c'est un bel endroit et le personnel est gentil.
