"Good Locaton, Good Price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
The hotel was adequate and the location convenient for the event I attended. The price was reasonable. I appreciated the free continental breakfast. The breakfast room--an interior room without windows--is small and was crowded both days I was there. Alternate seating is in the more pleasant lobby with windows! Also at this Best Western, unlike at other BWs where I've stayed, the towels noticeably scratchy, not soft, are either old or require different laundering.
"Good food around the hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
They were very friendly and close to everthing, walked all weekend, loved it
"The Best Hotel on Ocean Beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This might be the nicest hotel based right on the ocean at Ocean Beach. The staff was very helpful, the room immaculate, and the location second to none. I've stayed at a number of hotels in the area, but I won't stay anywhere but here in the future. You can't go wrong with an ocean front suite!
"Design savy with great service!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

The ac in the room was a lil uncopertive however the weather was perfect so not much use was needed. Room service food was great small portions but very tasty. Location is great have drinks on the. 9 h floor lounge and what the game from a spectacular view.

Spain’s foothold in California began here with Mission San Diego de Alcalá, a tourist-friendly church built in 1769. Nearby, Old Town’s historic buildings feature trendy bars and restaurants. Other major attractions include SeaWorld, Qualcomm Stadium, and Mission Bay Park, the nation’s largest waterfront park. South in Point Loma, the Cabrillo National Monument offers panoramic views of San Diego.
see all hotels in San DiegoRoom was clean and price was reasonable. Not an ideal location. They did not call for my wake up call. Good thing I set my phone alarm.
It was much better than I expected. 2 malls within a 10-15 minute drive, big rooms (2 beds and a sofa bed/couch) and comfortable pillows all for a decent price. I forgot to mention the complementary breakfast with the Belgian waffle maker and I will say if I was FAT I would have made more than one Belgian Waffle. It there was anything bad I would say […] its the fact you have to pay for parking but all the good things about the hotel really overshadowed me paying to park. Read more

"pleasant stay!"
The customer service of this hotel was satisfactory, the hotel was very convenient, it was pretty close to sea world and the san diego zoo, breakfast is good, the room looked very clean a bit small but was ok because we kept more time outside! The pool is heated and my kids enjoyed it a lot. In conclusion the hotel looks nice and cozy, I definitely […] recommend it for family holidays Read more

"San Diego California stay!"
We enjoyed our stay here ! The breakfast was very good, the hotel is close to many attractions, beaches, & sites. The room accomodated the 6 of us. The pullout wasn't too bad. The room was a little cramped, parking was tight, & the breakfast area was not able to seat all of its guests. Overall, was satisfied with our stay & great rate!
"comfort inn seaworld"
great hotel love the contintenal bkfst.
"Comfortable room"
The room is clean. The layout is great. Free wifi and breakfast. The kids loved the heated pool and jucuzzi. We will stay here again when we visit San Diego.
"Location and price rocks but food was a bummer."
Great location. Loved the room with two beds and a pull out couch -- allows our family to sleep without sharing. Front desk staff friendly and overall hotel was clean. Breakfast was very crowded -- could never find a place to sit. Food was not good at all. By our third day we had to give up on the food and go out to breakfast. Maid service asked if […] it was ok to not make up our room on our second day which was fine but she took our towels and did not bring new ones. When we asked the next day they were polite but did not have towels again. Seemed overwhelmed. Parking was easy and with the security guard visible seemed safe. Read more
"choice hotel near San Diego Zoo & Seaworld"
Excellent hotel close to all San Diego Attractions. Clean Rooms and excellent breakfast, though breakfast room is small compared to hotel size. Popular hotel for holidays.

"Comfort Inn & Suites Zoo SeaWorld Area - San Diego"
Stayed March 13-15, 2012 Hotel is in a good location, staff is courteous, breakfast was good but a little busy. Parking near the lobby can be a little cramped for larger vehicles. I would recommend and stay here again.

"Room was great but Breakfast was difficult."
Offered plenty of food and variety but the dining room was way too small. We could not even get in to see all that was offered. You must be a very early eater to enjoy it. The rest of our stay was very comfortable.
"Location"
I travel a lot with my wife and kids.So always looking for a family friendly hotel near to my location. this one exceeded our expectation at the price range. we enjoyed the stay. also the free breakfast provided by the hotel was very good.
"Comfort Inn & Suites Zoo SeaWorld Area"
Our room faced the freeway, which made it noisy. The breakfast crowd was big and the servers could not keep up and in some respects looked like they were not even trying to keep up. Also be ware that parking is extra, which I missed if it was described on the hotels.com site.
My family and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Easy to find and real convenient. I would definately stay here again
"Nicely located for sea world visitors"
I reserved this hotel as I Visited to sea world for the weekend. I checked in late at around 1 a.m. and got to room quickly. I took a 2 Queen bed room 1 bath. The room was neat and clean. The Bath room door did not close properly, so I gave 3 for Condition or maintenance of the hotel. The area was kind of dead end so I gave 3 for neighborhood. The breakfast […] was Awesome. I work rate more than 5 for this. They had so much options for Breakfast for free. They even had the pan cake mix and pan's to make your own pancakes. You will never have to go out and lookout for anything else in the morning. one thing I did not like is they charged extra $10 a day for parking, which is absurd and a surprise for me and felt like they are ripping out of my pocket. "Seaworld Trip"
PROS: The breakfast is awesome, good location, heated pool CONS: small rooms, pay for parking Overall I was very satisfied I saved alot of money on breakfast so paying for parking is worth it. The rooms are small but we didn't spend to much time there. Our family had a great time ill will definately return.
"very convenient"
In our opinion the Comfort Inn is a very good "value for money" choice. very good located near to the San Diego Zoo area.

"Comfort Inn in san diego"
My room was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was also very good but wake up early to eat or else you will be waiting in long lines and in a crowded and loud dining room.
"Comfort Inn"
The room I had was with 2 queen beds and a leather sofa. I stayed here with my family to visit the zoo and didn't allow my child to touch the sofa because it was in pretty bad condition from wear and tear. At check out, I was told that the sofas were going to be changed in every room though. It included breakfast which was extremely busy. The fresh […] fruits were gone faster than I can get a plate of food at 6:30am. Luckily the other breakfast items were plentiful. The shower head appears to have been worn and is leaking towards the back but it didn't really matter because you can still take a shower. Read more
"Excellent experience for the price..."
The kids suite was perfect for us, one little kiddo on his 5th birthday and an adventurous Grammy who didn't mind stowing away on the bottom bunk. My only complaint was that the quaility of the picture on both flat screen TVs was poor, nor did we have the option of buying movies or kids shows. As our goal was Seaworld (which was only about 3 miles away) […] this didn't bother us much but I could see how it might be an issue for other families. The breakfast buffet was great with many options and our whole stay was a comfortable one. Great value for the money! Read more
"Great location, newly updated"
Hotel stay was great. Very modern up to date rooms, friendly staff and convenient. We went to the zoo and it was very close by. Will stay there again when we are in the area.
I am truly glad that you enjoyed your stay in our fine city.See you hopefully soon!!!
1 response by Comfort Inn & Suites Zoo SeaWorld Area"Very pleasant stay"
I arrived in San Diego a day ahead of a conference I was to attend downtown. Instead of paying an arm and a leg for the conference hotel and parking downtown, I decided to stay at this Comfort Inn for one night, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice everything was. The room was clean and very spacious, and the complimentary breakfast had a pretty […] good selection, including a waffle station. If there is one complaint, it is that the HVAC unit in the room is very loud; other than that, you could really be fooled into thinking you're staying at a much more expensive hotel. Read more
Thank you for your kind comments. The staff and myself strive for excellence when it comes to pleasing our guests.

it was decent for what we payed.
"Great Location Spacious Room!"
We booked the kids suite. It had a set of bunk beds in a separate room from the main room with the king size bed! The kids room was very big and had a separate tv, mine brought their xbox for nighttime play. The main room was a good size and nice decor throughout. The room also came with a coffeepot, microwave and minifridge. Overall the room was above […] average ! Only thing lacking would have been for it to have a dvd player! The breakfast was very good and the staff was attentive, courteous and there was plenty of food. There were several seating nooks for eating, but strollers should be left in the room or in the corridor, there is just not the space for them in the dining area. The exterior was a bit trucker stop feel, but if you use the underground parking you will probably feel more secure and it is well lit and has elevator access. Parking fee is required at check in. There really are not any restaurants within walking distance, but many at the mall nearby. All attractions are very close and the front desk provides a VERY good list of directions to all local attractions ! Read more

"Fabulous Hotel for a Family!"
We upgraded to a kids suite at our arrival. It was perfect! We stayed for one week, touring the area each day. The extra space gained by the suite (and switching to bunk beds) was well worth the price, and it gave the kids (4) more room and more TVs. We brought our gaming system with us, so one TV was devoted to that while the other was free for others […] to watch. Breakfast was a zoo, but we were traveling during Christmas break so a large number of families were in the hotel. The food was okay. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs, and the sausage was likely precooked and warmed. But, they have cook your own waffles so those are fresh and pretty yummy; there are also cereals, breads, bagels (?), some pastries, apples and bananas, yogurt, and even hard boiled eggs. So, for the convenience and the price, it's hard to complain. Parking was tight and crowded late at night. As long as you have a smart phone or a navigation system, finding nearby places to eat was easy and there was a wide variety. However, don't expect to be able to walk to anything except the one restaurant next door. We loved the hotel, and all of the kids have clearly stated that they want to go back. Read more
"small suite"
The suite was very small. No room for luggage if utilizing the pullout sofa bed. Sofa bed in very poor state. Sink in room no separation from sleeping area. No microwave. Very small fridge. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean.

"Two-night stay"
Thought very highly of this hotel. It's a little older, but not run-down. Surrounding neighborhood was commercial/other hotels, and it's proximity to I8, 163, and Old Town (where you can catch public transit) is very convenient. Parking is kind of tight, though we never had an issue finding a spot. The staff is friendly. The breakfast area is a bit […] small, with standard "continental" fare, and was packed both times we went. The split-room, with a sliding door separating sections of the room and bunk beds, is a good idea if you have children. All in all I would stay there again and recommend it to a friend. Read more
"Awesome...for families with fhildren"
We were very happy with this hotel, specially the food. The beds were also very comfortable and soft. I slept all night. The only thing we did not like was the handicap parking. When we arrived there was a very long truck blocking the 2nd handicap stall and that was very frustrating. We also did not see one in the parking lot. Other than that it was […] just awesome. A little confusing to drive in if it is your first time but just AWESOME....we will stay there again. Read more
Had a great stay.Staff very friendly, room was great and the bbreakfast was great. My familyt would definetly stay there again :)
"comfort Inn by Seaworld"
This hotel is right off the 8 about 3 minutes from Seaworld The pool and jacuzzi was great breakfast was good (but definitely crowded) best bet get the food and eat in your room. Room was great a suite with two double beds and another room (with a door that closed and which you could not hear anything through) with a pull out bed Only complaint was […] that the mattress on the pull out could have been a little thicker but overall great Read more
"great service, above average hotel"
We stayed in one of the kids suites on the 4th floor. Pros:We were greeted by the very courteous and accommodating front office staff - and the great service continued throughout our 2-night stay. Our suite was small but had everything we needed. The kids loved the bunk beds, and we enjoyed the privacy in our "bedroom." The kitchen "area" is tiny - […] reminded me of a dorm room - but again, the microwave and mini fridge were sufficient for making snacks, microwave dinners, and warming up milk. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of choices for everyone, and was very decent (especially for the price). The breakfast room was well stocked, clean, and well serviced as well. Cons: the first suite we checked in hit us with a very pungent odor, like a mix of mildew and mildew remover. We asked to switch rooms and immediately got offered an identical room, this time with a strong pine-sol smell (much better than mildew, thank you). We had some issues with plumbing and internet access. And finally, the beds and pillows were too soft. However, for a 2.5 star hotel, it more than met our expectations. Read more
"pretty decent"
everything was fine. the shower was and sink was clogged up so the water wouldn't drain quickly...other than that, everything was good.
"Question"
There is one thing that makes my blood boil, that is not knowing about hidden charges, I paid for this hotel in full before the stay, so I thought when come to find out I got another charge of $7.95 to my credit card yes it's not alot of money but when you dont know about a charge and they dont tell you about a charge....so anyways be aware!!!!
"Comfort Inn and Suites Zoo Seaworld Area"
This hotel was fine, clean and comfortable. However we spent the day at Seaworld and had 2 starving children after leaving. There is one restaurant close to this hotel and it is pretty expensive, so we ordered a pizza from an advertisement left in the room. DO NOT DO THAT, it was horrible. We should have just driven around until we found a restaurant […] elsewhere. Hotel is fine for the price, but don't expect to have a great choice of eating establishments anywhere close by. Read more
"Good Hotel, bad elevator"
Comfort Inn was a very nice hotel, close to everything and the rooms were very clean. The only drawback was the sketchy elevator from the garage to the rooms. It was small, dark and very slow. Even the service people had to use it to move housekeeping carts and dirty towels.
"Hotel close to many hot spots"
Room is very clean and the price is great. Hotel is near by to the malls, restaurants, seaworld, and more. Great place to stay at. Only one problem, walls are pretty thin. You can hear people running, talking in the halls. Other then that, overall great quality hotel. Plus, free wifi and breakfast.
"Comfort Inn Zoo/Sea World"
This was a great hotel. It was clean and well-kept and the staff was always very helpful. We had a bit of a noise complaint one night, but the staff and security took care of the issue as soon as we reported. The location was prime too, within minutes of the Gaslamp Quarter, SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo, and about 20 minutes from a great outlet mall […] just north of the national border. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in San Diego! Read more
"Good Hotel With Some Bad Rooms"
This is a nice hotel with clean comfortable rooms, Unfortunately our room was on the freeway side and you could hear all the traffic noise even with the a/c running so i would recommend this hotel if you can get a room on the other side of the building
