Location.
Located at the base of the majestic Santa Cruz Mountains, this hotel is on Santa Cruz Avenue in historic downtown Los Gatos and close to the Silicon Valley business area. Also nearby are prized Santa Cruz Mountain wineries and Vasona Park, which offers BBQ/picnic areas, carousel and train rides. This hotel is 13 miles from San Jose International Airport.

Toll House has been my home away from home. My mother has been in Hospice in Los Gatos, so I have been flying up every weekend for the last 2 months.... Toll House was my happy refuge to come home too, when I was completely exhausted and worn out from being at her side and caring for her. The restaurant and Bar is a wonderful place and I got to know the people there, on my many trips and they were so nice and warm to me....knowing what I was going through. Sadly, Mom died on Wednesday so it may be awhile before I return....but, I will have a soft spot in my heart for Toll House. It was such a comfortable retreat during my difficult time. Highly recommend it to anyone......Los Gatos is a beautiful little town, just wish I had been able to enjoy more of it. by a Hotels.com guest on 04/20/13

We were placed in a room across from where all of the staff starts in the morning and where they come and go. Room had a mildew order to it due to lots of trees and weather.

We were surprised with the huge room, excellent service, friendly staff--especially Pam, greeter in the lobby, and a large welcoming environment. We enjoyed the stay and ambiance and location of the hotel. Only one complaint. The mattress needed to be replaced. It gave me a backache. . I did speak to the front desk and they were willing to move me to another room and I should have done so, but we were such in a hurry during our stay I did not. I do plan to stay there again when I am in town.

The only thing negative I can say about the room l is that they need to install double pane windows due to noise from the street and window treatments that will block out the sun in the morning. The heating unit should have a thermostat. Lighting insufficient, get rid of overheads. Bathroom was the best feature. Housekeepers very pleasant and accommodating. Cookies at checkin a great idea, but charging for water absurd.

I thought it was splendid. The room was much like how a nice modern day home would be decorated. The service was exceptional. Nicer setting, close to Los Gatos venues. A great date night I'd like to take advantage of more often!

EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL. MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER WERE WITH ME AND THEY LOVED ALL THE CONVENIENCES, THE VIEW FROM THE BALCONY, THE WONDERFUL BEDS/BEDDING AND THE OVERALL COMFORT OF THE ROOM. IT WAS CLOSE TO FOOD AND SHOPPING. WE WILL BE BACK!

We stayed here for one night. It was very cold weather for the area and when we got into our room the temperature inside was definitely colder than it was outside. The air/heat comes from a large older unit on the floor so the only option is low or high heat, and low or high air with a temperature knob. It took hours for it to warm up inside the room […] and then there is no auto option so had to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it down. I took a hot shower when we arrived which produced enough steam that it actually set off the fire alarm in our room! The bathroom itself is very nice and had been redone but obviously no vent. Has European features like the eco-flush toilet and dispensers in the shower with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Bathrobes are always a nice touch. Staff was pleasant. Plenty of parking below the hotel. Convenient to downtown Los Gatos which is an adorable area with little wine stores, cafes, restaurants and stores. Read more

Very much enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It's easy to walk to a number of shops and restaurants in Downtown Los Gatos. Luxury rooms with big screen TV.

This place is quite nicely located in Los Gatos with easy walk to restaurants and such. Unfortunately, our room was very small, the bedding was dirty with stains, the hair drier full of dust, and the AC was falling out of the wall leaving a huge crack between the AC and the wall, so we tried to stuff it with towels but still froze every night due to […] cold air blowing over the bed.
