I was moving from San Antonio to Los Angeles and this was the perfect place for me to lay over so I could drive into LA before 6:00 am the next morning to avoid heavy traffic. Hotel has tremendous potential. The lobby is elegant and beautiful, room was clean and spacious, and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Had a nice looking restaurant that was closed and a close look in the nooks and crannies of the place reveals needed painting and minor repairs. The only good thing about this hotel is the staff. I feel horrible that they are stuck in this broken filthy environment day after day putting up with disgruntled guests. The owner of this establishment is cheap, unwilling to make positive changes, and does nothing beyond making empty promises. Restaurant is closed until further notice, ice machines […] are all broken, a/c units squeak and grumble, floors aren't vacuumed. Overall a 5 . Our room needwed updating. Hotel is being updated room by room, but room was in great condition and very clean clean. front desk and room maids were awesome. Will definantly stay here again.. Also had dogs cause came in for dog show. They were great.

You get what you pay for. The rooms are outdated and show signs of wear and tear. The amount they ask for deposit is outrages(way much more than the nightly charge) compared to better hotels. The phone in my rom was not working. The so called "Free American Complete Breakfast" is worst than a continental breakfast served in other hotels. Its a bit of an older hotel, but the rooms were very nice. There were a total of 12 of us in three Junior Suites and it was perfect, gave us all lots of room, not to mention it was perfectly situated for where we were bowling, right in between the two houses.

This hotel is very much in need of a renovation and a training seminar for the behind the counter workers.Maps/brochures of local attractions and or stores are not provided. The guest washers/dryers do not work on the 2nd and 3rd floors. All ice machines in the building were broken. The sign inside of the elevator had been removed leaving holes in the […] walls. The carpet seams were coming up. The pool was not heated, the hot tub was missing tile. The sign to activate the water jets for the hot tub had been removed leaving unsightly caulking and adhesive marks on the wall. There were no pool towels. The floor mats around the exercise machines were dirty as well as the handles and controls for the treadmill. Yuck! The hotel was "out" of laundry detergent upon check in, and was to stock up at 7 the next morning. The next morning the new staff said that the "maintenance" staff would not be there until 7:45-8:00. No one had any idea where the detergent was kept and therefore I had to wash my clothes without soap to keep on schedule. Overall, this place is creepy and should not be listed by AAA as a 3 Diamond hotel. I am writing to them next. Read more

The hotel is old and looks like its on its last leg. Furniture was way outdated and ac unit was so loud! Our bathroom door wouldn't lock and I could have gotten a better shower with a garden hose! The only nice thing was the the bed was comfortable. If you stay here be careful watching movies cause it doesn't say that there is a charge but there is. […] I had to ask the front desk about it. Also this place is called the hilltop but the view is not impressive. The ice machines were broken on our stay and they said they'd bring ice to our room. The hardware needs to be updated. Low water pressure, CRT TV, and ice machine were broken for 2 stories. Although customer service was prompt to fix issues, the overall feeling about the place is not so comfortable. Big space was a plus.

Needs an update to say the least. Is it adequate? Perhaps. The room was clean but the amenities and the hotel overall is showing it's age. They are definitely technologically challenged. The wireless internet is sub par - slow connection and download speed and a few of the channels on the tv were not working - apparently they also neglect the status […] of their satellite tv. Front Desk Staff is super helpful and courteous to offset or compensate for the dismal state of affairs. Apparently the management has established some aggressive policies to "curtail" some "bad" or "abusive" guests in the past. And while I can understand the punitive logic behind those policies, they are a bit extreme and I won't be returning to the property. I was informed by the front desk clerk the breakfast was "nothing fancy" - they were right....how about dismal - the best they had was the orange and banana - at least they were fresh, because nothing else was. The breakfast attendant was more interested in his phone than providing any level of service. Tables in the restaurant area were dirty, no napkins to be found, the milk and what I think was yogurt were warm / room temperature, coffee add-ins were a joke, 2 kinds of cereal - both for kids. No way to heat up pastries, some things like a cinnamon roll just don't fare well when placed in a toaster. Fortunately Denny's / Starbucks and a better hotel are just down the street. Read more

The hotel was decent, when we first checked in we were given a very dated room. We found out that a great deal of rooms had been updated so we asked to be changed and they did with no problem. Other then that it was an ok stay.

We were able to check in early. Treated very well. The only issue was the fact that there was only one wash cloth and hand towel for two guests. Never experienced that in any hotel before. Also, none of the ice machines on property were in working order & had to be brought to the room. Did not have to wait long however.

The customer service of the desk person was great. Chris was very informative. The room had nice qualities, but was old. The hallway had a strange smell and the ice machine was broken which was a huge inconvenience. But other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Hotel is old. Sound of creaking pipes kept us awake at night. Free breakfast was terrible with very little selection, and what they did have ran out by 7:30am. Will this site be closing soon? It seems like they are not even trying anymore.

The first room i received was not renovated then i asked to be moved they said my file didn't have that request there. I moved again to a half renovated room. Most of the hotels ive been in for around $50 a night, have been pretty standard, a bed, tv. Table, and if lucky a coUple of night stands. I was expecting this set up at the shilo inn, but i was shocked that it was actuallly a mini suite. It had a wet bar, fridgerator, microwave, a couch, and a bigger table with 4 comfortable chairs. I got it on sale […] but even for their average price of $80 a night it still was worth it. The only thing bad was that the walls may be kind of thin, because me and my girl was doing our thing , and the guy below was banging on our floor. So annoying, so we went and complained to customer service and they easilly switched us to an even better equipped room, without hesitation, and free of charge. The location was great too, because we wasnt too far from downtown la, and lax, we were only about 30 minutes from there and ontario mills, and an hour from victorville, very convient. I was really impressed with the rooms, and the quality of service; i would recommend and stay here again. Read more

a little put off by the hundred dollar deposit they took without warning ( with reservation) for "no smoking" deposit. Loud busy lounge next to property..a little nerve wracking for parking etc. Nice facility though and good value.

Best thing that can be said is that the room and hotel were clean and comfortable. Shower dribbled lukewarm water; not really enough for a proper shower. Two wake up calls requested never came. So if you would like to arrive late and unwashed for a business meeting, this is a great place to stay. Other guests had complaints: heater didn't work; phone […] didn't work, etc. Front desk was friendly and helpful with directions. Hard to find the driveway entrance and another hotel across the street has a similar name which is confusing. Skip this if you can find anything better. Read more
