The hotel was adequate and the location convenient for the event I attended. The price was reasonable. I appreciated the free continental breakfast. The breakfast room--an interior room without windows--is small and was crowded both days I was there. Alternate seating is in the more pleasant lobby with windows! Also at this Best Western, unlike at other BWs where I've stayed, the towels noticeably scratchy, not soft, are either old or require different laundering.

This might be the nicest hotel based right on the ocean at Ocean Beach. The staff was very helpful, the room immaculate, and the location second to none. I've stayed at a number of hotels in the area, but I won't stay anywhere but here in the future. You can't go wrong with an ocean front suite!

We needed a last min getaway for a few days to unwind and enjoy a romantic getaway. The hotel staff was awesome very friendly made us common folk feel like celebrities. Great service location and atmosphere . If your dog people you will love this hotel very pet friendly. We will be staying here again and bring our dog as well . The ac in the room was a lil uncopertive however the weather was perfect so not much use was needed. Room service food was great small portions but very tasty. Location is great have drinks on the. 9 h floor lounge and what the game from a spectacular view.
Location.
This San Diego resort is 1.3 miles from Carmel Village Plaza. Black Mountain Open Space Park is five miles away, and San Diego Wild Animal Park is 9.8 miles away. SeaWorld is 22 miles away.

Overall the room wasn't bad but pretty standard and plain. They probably spent most of their budget on bedding (which was nice to sleep on). The pool and hot tub were nice. The only 2 things are... there's nothing around except costco and albertsons. "Mostly great"
Every thing was as expected except for a large wet spot on the carpet, as if some yellow liquid spilled but was never clean or dried. I just avoided steping on it the whole time. I would stay there again, except that they charge me a resort fee of about $50.00 I think that was excessive and I was not made aware of it until check out time. About 20 minutes from most attractions, but a great value for a clean, comfortable room in a safe area.

Overall it was a very good hotel. My only issue was the website said it was less than 4 miles from the san Diego airport but it was close to 20 miles.

Had a great stay here. The room was very nicely appointed - the beds were extremely comfortable and the room was inviting & decorated well. Loved the patio area and view of the pool. Also loved the fact that there was direct outdoor access to the room in addition to elevator access through the main lobby. Easy to get to my car or go through lobby, whichever […] was more convenient. The bathroom was spacious, but my only complaint was that on one of the days, the bathtub was not cleaned properly and there was hair left in the drain. Ewww! Our one night stay at the Double Tree was far above exceptional. The tranquil surroundings served as a key element to a much needed rest and relaxation weekend. We look forward to staying at the Double Tree on our next visit to Sam Diego.

They charge for in-room wifi and it is slow. There is a business center, but that seems so 1990's to me. Except for that, the room was great, the people were great, the place is beautiful and easy to get to.

Once upon a time this must have been something really special. It is in good condition, but a few decades old. Beware overnight parking is extra and so is internet access. No breakfast included.

This was a very nice hotel, located in a beautiful area, close to plenty of shops, movie theatre, and restaurants. I would say that the rooms were spacious, but are missing a little element of home. "No free WIFI Really?"
This "resort" was average same as a La Quinta. I could not believe that you actually had to pay for parking which was $9.95 a night. That is obsurd. Also the hotel does not have WIFI in the rooms unless you pay $5.95 a day, who doesn't have free WIFI now a days????? Hot tub was cold
"Deferred Maintenance"
Beautiful location, but is in need of some upgrades. Heater knob in my room did not work so had to call maintenance at 11:00 PM as it was a cool evening. He got the heat on but of course had no controls, so it came on and off all night., Too hot, then too cold. Parking is too far away from the rooms. Not handicap friendly. "Perfect for my needs"
I was traveling with my husband, infant, and two large dogs. The hotel was perfect for our needs. The room was large, plenty of room for the dogs' and baby's needs. The pack-n-play was in the room and ready to use before we even got to the room. The hotel staff was adequate but lacked a level of service that you would expect from a "nice" hotel.

Pros - Very nice staffs. Clean rooms. Relaxing atmosphere. One free breakfast buffet per guest. Near freeway, supermarket, and gas station. Cons - Very noisy when showering and flushing the toilet. "Great Double Tree near Rancho Bernardo, CA"
Had a great stay. Very clean and quiet room. Comfortable bed! The only thing missing was a mini-frig in the room. Ice maker also didn't work. Staff was very nice too. Great fitness area and a lap pool.

I chose this hotel because it was near my daughter. I read on-line some good some bad reviews about this Double Tree. I agree paying to park is poor but other than that our stay was excellent. We got a room at first that had too many stairs for me with a bad knee and when I called the front desk at 8 pm they were willing to move me to a 1st level room […] right now. We waited until morning but the staff was very very commodating to our every request. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean and the tile floors were spotless, even the grout between the floor tiles were still its original cream color not black which seems to happen with time and mopping. I want to know their secret. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. I had read of musty smell in rooms and I can tell you I was in two rooms and they were fresh and clean and I have an excellent nose. This hotel has some drawbacks but the good linens and the comfortable bed make it worthwhile. The "hike" to our room was tiring but the stairs that we had to climb made it exhausting, especially with bags. The bathroom should have been remodeled 10 years ago and the mould in the grout of the tub surround was off-putting. The in-room coffee maker was […] so filthy inside that we could not use it. I will stay there each time I go to San Diego which is at least 5x each year. The room was spotless and beds were very comfortable. Easy to locate off the freeway.

on thanksgiving morning they let a bunch of kids check in at 9am.......in the room above us.paper thin walls and ceiling.could hear everything.they charge for everything.parking,internet,microwave,etc.etc

We opted to stay here because our condo was being fumigated. We have pets and there is a small pet fee. The room was a nice large space. Staff was really friendly except for the barkeep.
