I was happy with the stay. The room itself didn't smell like smoke, but right outside it did... bothered me a little bit. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The air conditioning was not working very well... it was very hot at night, and we tried to get the room to cool, but we couldn't get it any colder. We did have a microwave, fridge, stove, […] and dishwasher, which was was nice. The pool was small, but we didn't use it (just fyi). Checking in and out was easy (we prepaid). It was close to everything, so we could walk to restaurants, and it was beach front. The decor is very very outdated, but I didn't mind, I still had a good stay. Overall I would give it 4/5. Stayed 3 nights and housekeeping never changed the sheets and never vacuumed. Towels were plentiful and refreshed daily. Also, housekeeping did not clean the tub. Upon arrival the room was clean and ready.

Overall, the location was great. The room was big and the view awesome. What I liked was the two commodes separated for convenience was nice. I think the pillows were too soft and the size of Chiclets! The range was not secured even though we did not use it and the mounted microwave did not work. On a scale of 1 to 5 I rate as a 3.

Very nice location and a very hospitable staff. Repairs to the hotel made the hotel a little dusty, and cluddered but the rooms were well equiped and mostly clean. Would consider staying at the hotel again but only after the repairs, upgrades were completed. The rates were very adequate and this made up for any inconvenience.

Perfect location - walking distance to shopping and restaurants. On the beach - walking distance to boardwalk - without all of the commotion of staying on the boardwalk. Room was very clean and comfortable. Ocean view was phenomenal.

The room itself was okay with a wonderful ocean view, however the beds were too worn out, and the service was the worst I have ever seen. The people at the front desk actually wanted to argue with the guests. This was very offensive to some of the other guest that were nearby.

The rooms are large. Fantastic view of the ocean. The front desk was very friendly. The lobby was clean and impressive. My complaint is with the cleaning staff. The room was horribly filthy and not like they did not clean the room from the last stay. More years of neglect. Mold, blood stains on bathroom wall, little faces drawn on the cabinets in marker […] layers of dust and just all around neglect. We were very dissatisfied with this hotel. The heater in the room was loud. . The refrigerator made a loud bang when it finished its cycle. When we asked for a different room, the clerk allowed us to look at 2 other rooms which had heating systems just as loud. The hotel claimed to have free Wi-Fi but when we called, the clerk said it wasn't working. […] The carpet had a big stain on it and it was pulling away from the strip between the kitchen and bedroom which made it a tripping hazard. The only complaint that I have is that the one bed had sand in it. So I'm assuming the beds sheets weren't changed. Other than that the room, view and overall experience was awesome. Would definitely go there again. And if the sand is in the bed would just ask to change the sheet next time.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights right before NYE in late 2012. My friends and I were in town and wanted a name-brand hotel in a good location. Location we got, name-brand we got, but that was it. We stayed for three nights, and housekeeping did not clean our room once. No fresh linens, no beds made, and no trash removed. And we gave the staff […] plenty of time to clean. We also were placed in a room with a door that would not close securely. Twice we came back to a door that was open. Hotel staff was very friendly without being overbearing. They were helpful and pleasant no matter what time of day. The Boardwalk ends at 27th Street, so this hotel is perfect if you want a great view of the beach and ocean without all the foot traffic and noise, yet still be within walking distance of the Boardwalk...and eating and shopping. Our overall stay was quite pleasant. We had a great view of the ocean in a relatively quiet part of the hotel. Accomodations were fair, e.g. the stove had to be worked on to be able to cook meals, light on microwave didn't work. These things would not deter us from stayin there again.

I paid extra for a beachfront, ocean view, and a private balcony. I was situated behind the beachfront rooms with a couple inch view of the beach in front of the hotel beside us. Our balcony was not private, unless you consider a banister between balconies to be private. Also, when I viewed the hotel online it showed a beautiful building with fountains […] etc. That was not the hotel I stayed in. I wanted to sit on the balcony and be able to watch what was going on at the beach in front of me. That isn't what I got. I could have saved a lot of money and just got a regular room.
