This was leg one of a birding trip to Arizona. Because we are rarely in our room and really don't use many hotel "bells and whistles" when we travel for this purpose, we seek out less expensive lodging. Of course that's hard to find in the Sedona area, so we really weren't sure what to expect when we found the Desert Quail. Turns out it was very clean, […] the staff was friendly and it was comfortable overall. It's basically next door to Fire Creek Coffee Shop which I highly recommend for excellent coffee, breakfast items and sandwiches. This saved us a lot of time each morning. I found the photos online to be misleading (or maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part) but based on the photos I expected it to be on a rather open lot overlooking the mountains. Well, that's really not the case. It's surrounded by other businesses/buildings and the room had a view of the parking lot. Again, not a big deal for us but keep in mind that marketing photos are taken from very strategic angles! So yes, I recommend this hotel if you are not looking for a resort-ish place to stay. Clean, friendly, comfortable. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Read more

We enjoyed this motel immensely. We loved that it was away from the touristy downtown but was close to plenty of hiking and places tomeat. The rooms were immaculate and the the beds incredilbly comfortable. Would definitely return.

Desert Quail Inn is located in Village of Oak Creek, a 7-mile scenic drive from Sedona. Restaurants, grocery store and shops are within walking distance. Hotel rate was reasonably priced. The owner was very helpful and helped us upgrade from King bed room to 2 queen beds room. We had a clean room with comfortable beds. Was surprised how far the hotel was from downtown Sedona, but this did not turn out to be a problem. After hiking, was disappointed that the hotel has no jacuzzi.

This is a delightful hotel. The owner is always at the front desk and takes a genuine interest in his patrons. His suggestions on what to see and where to eat we're spot on and we enjoyed each place he mentioned. Rooms were nice and the mattress was superb. I'd stay her again for sure. The website needs to be updated because the room was beautifully remodeled. The room was lovely with a fireplace and trendy details. It's outside of the bustle of Sedona's uptown area,so we enjoyed the quiet. The hotel manager was friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much we changed our travel plans to come back on our way home!

The room was a good value. The room was clean (even during remodeling), quiet and within walking distance to good places to eat and buy food. It is only a few minutes drive to Sedona on a scenic road. The management was very nice and helpful. Of course, it was probably not as nice as the fancy spa's in Sedona of course, but the spa's in Sedona also […] cost 3 times more. Newly renovated and a great staff! The hotel was very accommodating to our needs. My dad left his cell phone in the room and the hotel mgmt was very helpful in helping us return the item. I will definitely stay there again!

Although classified as a "no frills" motel, the Desert Quail Inn didn't disappoint! The motel is small and its office very plain, but our second-floor standard king room was squeaky clean and very quiet. The king bed was comfortable, and the room amenities including the flat-screen TV and small refrigerator were perfect! Our room was updated recently […] in all respects (carpet, furnishings, fixtures) except for the window treatment ... no big deal. Given the price, we'd stay again and recommend the motel to others who want to spend their time and money visiting Sedona rather than paying for the luxuries of pricey hotel. Read more

Desert Quail Inn is a clean, modern motel located near the Red Rocks trails for hiking and biking. Also shopping outlet across the street. Eat at the Cafe next door for a good breakfast. Rooms have been updated, comparable to better chain motels at a lower rate. Highly recommended.

The location was convenient enough, right across the street from the outlet mall.There are other shops within walking distance. We booked this hotel after skin in Flagstaff. Since it was snowing really hard we decided to book a room in Sedona instead. We booked this one on the basis of ratings and budget. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and location was right on our way. I will consider this hotel again.

Construction was going on in the office. They have satellite TV, and we had trouble getting that working. The manager did come to the room and offer to get us the sheet listing which channels were available, which was missing from our stay book. Room was spacious, clean, and in good condition - included microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. I would have given it a 5 if not for the truly hideous cool-white fluorescent lighting. Conveniently located in Oak Creek village near the excellent Desert Flour bakery for breakfast or lunch.

The Desert Quail Inn is situated right across from some outlet stores. Although this is not Sedona's specialty, we were able to shop and walk around while enjoying Sedona's scenary. The price at was affordable and the location was close enough to the center of town. We found a slight mark on our towels and they were replaced immediately. The inn does […] not have a gym, but there is one close by that is five dollars per person per entry. One complaint I do have is that we tried to conserve energy and water by reusing the towels. Not quite in Sedona (a good thing), but still surrounded by beautiful red rocks. The room looked as though it had cost twice as much as it did. The management was friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of good food nearby. We'll definitely stay there again when next we visit that area.

This hotel was perfect for what I needed. i came to the Sedona Area to day hike. I wasn't interested in anything else during this trip. This hotel provided me everything i wanted. A clean modern room, a comfortable bed and a supermarket close by. The views from the room are non existent and it doesn't offer breakfast.
