This is a very old hotel. Its got 22 floors and only 1 working elevator when I stayed. Price wise its cheap, but you get what you pay for. Many stores nearby. The fitness center is a freakin joke. How dare they call it that.

This hotel has the best location. It's near the main tourists shopping streets, near the subway, walking distance to many attractions, plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The outside is a bit worn out but the room is comfortable, clean and a good size. Gym and pool are so-so but it is in a wonderful area in Montreal. Very slow elevators. Happy with the overall experience.

I would recommend this hotel to any college students trying to go up to Montreal for a great weekend. The rooms are big and it is only one block from a liquor store as well as st Catherine street. Great stay.

This hotel was nothing like the pictures on the site. The sheets on bed had extreme static between them which caused them to be useless unless you wanted to get shocked all night room had paint chipping all over and was very outdated. Parking was 18 a night. I would never return to This hotel as there are many other available in this area.

We had all the space we could need for four people, 2 double beds and a pull-out couch. The hotel staff gave us directions when needed. The metro was close by, there were a good selection of restaurants (Fast food, diner food, Korean, sandwiches, etc...), there was shopping, and the Forum (Montreal Canadiens former home arena) is near by and has a movie […] theater in it. It was a little too far from the center of town, we still walked but by nights end we were exhausted. Metro station is one block away so that was great. The room was fantastic. We had our own little apartment for 4 days with a kitchen, separate bedrooms. Wifi and parking was pricey when some places offer it for free. I'd stay here again.

The carpets and bedding looked old and dusty. I felt like I wanted to wear sandals as soon as I got out of the shower so I wouldn't get athletes foot. The pillows were old and not very supportive and the TV was little and the old tube type. The pool on the penthouse had clean water in it but the astro-turf surrounding the pool looked cheesy and was […] prime for bacteria. They had pictures up in the pool area that looked like they were 1970's vacation promo posters. They were sun-faded and in no way set a mood that made you feel you were living the high life. We enjoyed the time we spent in Montreal, and enjoyed staying at this hotel! You do "get what you pay for!" But before booking when I read the mixed reviews, I was a little skeptical, but when we got there, I was pleasantly suprised. You could tell that the place is outdated and a little old. Other than that, everything was functional, and when you are on a budget it is the perfect place. We were lucky and found parking right out front, and did not have to pay for parking in the garage or on the street. It is local to the subway, about 2 blocks. There are supermarkets around the corner and walking distance, so you could stock up on food and prepare/store it in the kitchen. Full kitchen, stove, microwave and all the dishes and utensils. I was disappointed on how old and run down the place was. The kitchen had a full stove but a very small refrigerator and microwave. Refrigerator freezer needed defrosting. Carpeting was coming undone. There were steps inbetween the living room and rest of the area. There wasn't free wi-fi so we paid for it for one night and response time was pretty […] bad. Parking was the biggest issue. No way could you find a place to park on the street. We paid $20 per day to park at the ramp two blocks away at the suggestion of this hotel. Cheap hotel for the space and location, well equipped kitchen, but quality leaves to be desired from many stand points: It is a 21 story building with many rooms and just too elevators. We had to wait many minutes almost every time to get the elevator on the 10th floor. Going down on one of the 2 stairwells was an option in theory, but the stairs are […] so tight that they are difficult to descend, not to talk about the unpleasant look and smell of the stairwell. The parking at the hotel would have been cheap for the area, but there wasn't enough for us so the receptionist directed us to park at a mall nearby, not warning us about the surcharges if you exceed 12 hours of parking there. The wall in one of the built-in closets had a hole in it leading to the ventilation system, the tub was "rebathed" but the seal failed so there was water caught between the liner and the old bath which felt really odd and fostered mold. The microwave was standing on 3 legs rather than 4 and the sofa mattress was absolutely horrible (one felt the wires in the mesh underneath through it). Do not stay here. Upon checking in, we were told that the hotel parking lot was full and that we would have to use a public parking garage 2 blocks away. The man at the front desk said we could park in front of the hotel while we brought in our bags. As we were putting our luggage in our room, we got a parking ticket! A very hefty one too. We brought […] it in to show the front desk clerk and his reply was that we shouldn't have parked there. When we pointed out that he knew where we were parked (he could see our car) and he told us to park there, he shrugged turned away and started talking to his friend. It was very surreal. We had internet problems, peeling paint, stained carpet, four non-working electric plugs and tiny scratchy towels. The swimming pool is tiny and overchlorinated. BUT the subway is very convenient and the kitchentette is great for the price considering this is downtown Monteal. The combination of bed plus sofabed worked for us.

La Tour Belvedere has a lot of potential. What attracted me to it was the kitchenette, price, and central location. With some TLC this could be a great place, but it needs to be brought up to working order. The location is good for sight seeing and the neighborhood is fine. I was *very* disappointed that the refrigerator in my room did not work. I phoned the front desk about it within one hour of my arrival, was told that maintenance would be up to address the issue that day, but never heard or saw anyone about it for the rest of my four-day stay. The price was fairly reasonable, but the hotel carpets were very dirty. I wish I brought sheets to spread out on the floors so my 11-month-old baby had a clean place to play and crawl. His knees, feet and hands were black with dirt after 10 minutes of crawling around on the floors. Certainly not the worst place, but needs some updating and especially carpet cleaning. Read more
