"Nice, affordable hotel in the heart of Montreal"
My boyfriend and I stayed here in May. La Tour Belvedere is a great hotel--affordable, clean, and conveniently located one block from the train station and near many stores and restaurants. An added bonus is the efficiency kitchen in the room, complete with all the necessities for making a meal, which isgreat if you want to spend the night in. The hotel […] was clean and cozy. The woman who cleaned our room was also very polite and made sure we were comfortable. No complaints here! Will definitely stay here again if we return to Montreal. "Affordable hotel with friendly staff"
The hotel is conviniently located in the city center. Is walking distance to subway, tourist's info center and restaurants/supermarket. The parking charge is around $10/night. Clean with friendly, helpful staff. Has kitchenette with everything to cook and eat quick meal: oven, fridge, pan, dishes and utilities. We stayed with friends only two nights […] and didn't use kitchenette. Instead we had breakfast at Sports Cafe -delicious and good portions/variety. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not fancy but everything I needed"
I wanted a kitchenette so we would be able to deal with our food restrictions. I expected a little bar fridge, a microwave and dishes. We got a small kitchen, ie. a separate room with a 3/4 size fridge a sink, dish soap, wash cloth, scrubbie, tea towels, a 24" stove, micirowave, toaster, kettle, coffee pot, drain board, sharp knives, several pots, dishes […] for 3, salad bowl and server, a breakfast table with 2 chair. The room was big and clean but a little worn. There would have been enough space for children to play on the floor between the couch and TV. One of the lights was missing the cover, there was a hole in a curtain and a chip out of one of the floor tiles but those things happen at my house too. The room was not fancy but it covered what we needed. Given that I had booked online and was feeling a litte uneasy about having done so, I was pleasantly surpised. The elevators were slow. We were on 10 and sometimes walked instead of waiting. The hotel is less than 2 blocks from Atwater metro station. The front desk staff members were friendly. I enjoyed the supply of apples they had at the front desk each morning. I would stay there again for the price we paid. It worked out to $90 per night with the, currency conversion, taxes and booking fee. Is I were paying $150, I would expect something a little flashier. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Walking distance to everything"
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and it is ideal if you want to save money and eat in or go out. As long as you don't mind a bit of a walk you can get anywhere by foot. We'll keep going back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"decent for the price you pay."
One Elevator was broken so could sometime 15 minutes to get to the lobby . But thats probably fixed now.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rooms were more than OK; rest of hotel so-so"
A decent budget option but don't come here looking for luxury. One of the elevators was broken which was an inconvenience for sure. Big disparity between cleanliness/modernness of rooms and the sloppy hallways. Not right in downtown, but close enough that you don't mind the walk.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Un-Family Suite...Bouncer in the Lobby?!"
I rented the "family suite"… although it had two double beds and a pull out couch I was informed at check out that the room only accommodates 2 adults and 2 children. NO more than 2 adults! This a found out when I returned to my room with only 4 adults total. The bouncer in the hotel lobby refused to let everyone upstairs and this resulted where I could […] not stay the second night in the room as was required to drive my guests across town. VERY unhappy with how this was enforced & was not offered any compensation other than a weak apology. The room itself was fine…nothing special, lots of room that could have more than accommodated additional occupants with the beds. They also would not allow us to pay for the other two guests!! Had to pay $5 per day for wifi access. Only one elevator was working, which was extremely slow…ended up walking 19 flights of stairs to the room. Overall, NO I would not recommend based on the poor customer service & conveniently omitted information. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"This hotel are full of crooks... do not stay there"
This hotel has terrible customer services on the night shift. Prior to booking, I asked about if they have an exta person charge... They said no... when I showed up at 2AM to check in all of a sudden there's a sign that says there's a $75.00 per person extra charge!!! I had a family hotel room, but there's an extra person charge? That's both stupid […] and ridiculous. That extra person charge was more than the entire reservation... they are crooks... do not stay there..Rooms are old and smell and bed sheets made me and girlfriend itchy... Bad experience. Will NEVER stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient location, near restaurants and grocery store. Got 2 rooms for family of 5, but we would have fit snug in one room. Large units reminiscent of 70's NYC coop apartments (imagine "Odd Couples, Felix Unger/Oscar Madison, but in 1 bedroom configuration) Bathroom (toilet) wasn't cleaned in one unit upon check in, still had urine in bowl, but "sanitized" […] band was on seat anyway. Elevator under renovation, nightmare waiting times during peak use hours. Do NOT Park in underground garage if you have SUV or minivan, extremely low entry clearance, about 5 1/2 feet. David, the in house superintendent/man of all hats, is the best. Hotel probably can't run right without him. Would stay again, not hip or upscale, but priced fairly for what you get. "ok for the price. terrible elevator"
I had a bad experience with the elevator. They had two elevators but one was barely working. This was a 20-story hotel. Had to wait for 30min for the elevator to arrive. After arrival, it was full of people. could not fit. At the end, had to take stairs with two large luggage during check out. Room was large and comfy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The lobby is modest but the rooms are very nice. It's a little away from the heart of downtown but only a half mile or so.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Good location, clean room, pleasant staff. Loved having a kitchen. Parking is just around the corner, but extra cost as is usual in Montreal. We will go there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worth the price"
Large apartment - twice regular hotel room size. Elevator is the problem: one is still being serviced (half year based on other reviews) one small elevator for 25 floors means you will have to walk down 20 floors for check out. And 10 min average wait to go in and go out. Choose: Nice view or quick access. Except for that everything is excellent. Not […] too close to the very center, but withing walking distance. Near many stores and restaurants, though. Nice. Will stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good room at a great price."
Overall, we were pleased. The decor was a bit out of date and the TV wasn't the best quality, but these are minor quibbles - we weren't there to stay in my room and watch TV. Close to the Metro - so getting around was easy. The kitchenette was handy - we didn't cook, but were too tired to go out and ordered in - nice to have a table and real plates/silverware […] to use. The indoor pool was a big hit w/ our 8yr old son. The breakfast buffet was nothing special, but fine for the price. Only one elevator was working when we were there - this created a bit of a logjam at times. And there should be clearer signage indicating you cannot park on the street out front before 5:30 - we got a parking ticket that cost more than one night's room rate in the 5 minutes it took to check in before moving our car. Very convenient to have the kitchenette. Lots of space with separate livingroom and bedroom. Not fancy by any means but clean, comfortable and convenient. 7$ cab ride to crescent street (pubs/nightlife) when weather was too cold to walk, otherwise about 7-8 block walk. Will stay again if the price is right.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outdated, dingy hotel"
The hotel was far from downtown, a metro ride away, and the surrounding neighborhood was grim and grey. The hotel itself was outdated, furnishings worn out and there was only one lift working taking ages to get to the rooms. The staff were a bit rude and strict and it did not feel very hospitable. Especially as we were traveling in the midst of a snow […] blizzard, it didnt feel cosy at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was ok for the price. I would NOT pay a penny more then what I did pay for it though. The room was VERY outdated, hot and very small compared to the pic online. The elevator took FOREVER.We waited for at least 15-20 mins to get on as it only carries 6 people and we were on the 18th floor out of 22.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stay only one night, but it was a very good experience. We enjoy the appart hotel. The room was very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location, 2blooks from metro and bus stop. Close too many restaurants. Customer service is excellent, very friendly and helpful. The only think, that our bathroom needed some paint job. Overall the room was cozy, clean and nice. We booked a studio room which had balcony, queen bed, sofa, computer table, TV, small kitchen with microwave, gas stove, […] coffee machine and utilities. It also had small kitchen table in a separate location next to the kitchen. If you travel with family and want to save money on restaurants it’s definitely plays to stay in. But if you looking for high end hotel rooms than it’s not for you. Definitely will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Problems: Problem with sewer smells coming up from pipes in the restrooms, (put something over drains to keep the smell out). Very tight elevator-needs refurbishment. "La Tour of Montreal looking for parking."
Upon check in the staff was friendly but follow up questions were not that way. The room was fine. Clearly its an old hotel with a quick coat of paint and furnishings to make it appear updated but hey Montreals building s are mostly old so it is understandable. The parking under the hotel has a clearance of 5.5 feet. If you have a truck or SUV you will […] have to fight first come first serve for one of the 6 spots behind the building. All the parking in the neighborhood is either metered or permit only. I parked in a parking lot about four blocks away for $21 Canadian for 24hrs. The hotel also charges for the few spots they have. The breakfast at the hotel was mediocor but way over priced. Its $10 per person. I could have had a better breakfast for half the price at the McDonald's down the street. All in all if your looking for an inexpensive place to stay that's conveniently located to all of Montreal's attractions the this place is more than sufficient. Its no Hilton but I'd definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly staff, lovely place"
This place is within walking distance to the Metro, and Stéphanie at the front desk was eager to hand me a map and tell me how to get to Old Montreal. The room itself was charming and neat. The location was a huge plus, close to subway, downtown, and within walking distance of St. Catherine with lots of dining options available. We read that many of the rooms here have been remodeled, unfortunately the room we got was not one of those. It definitely can use a good updating. It was spacious and clean however, and has a balcony, offering […] good views of the city. We also like having the fully equipped kitchenette. "great location, close to BIXI and subway stop."
Overall this was a good hotel for 2 people, weekend trip in Montreal. We only paid roughly $90 per night, so for 2 nights that's not bad at all. The room was older and the bathroom tub was clearly in need of an update, as well as the blankets and sheets, some had holes in them, the mattress was too soft and old. However the room was very big, with a […] balcony and a full kitchen, and a sofa plus eat-in table. thats why overall i feel this was good money for the time, and we spent most of our time outside the hotel anyway. I have to say that the check-in and check-out process was very smooth, very friendly staff. i would recommend this place to travelers that are looking for a bigger room and on a budget, like a small family of 3-4 or a young couple or friends that just need a place to stay for a weekend. Otherwise there is nothing luxurious or modern about this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A bit bizare, a bit business, a bit good deal"
First time in Montreal. Didn't realize which part of the city the hotel was. St. Catherine Street is the main street. It is only a block away, but the old city is EAST St. Catherine's; The hotel is WEST St. Catherine's, so there isn't a chance you are going to walk to the sights. The Atwater Metro station is only a block away. The metro is very good, […] so the location of the hotel isn't an issue. These are apartments, had a kitchen, not kitchenette, dining area overlooking the living room, two closets, a bedroom. It was clean, although our first full day, the maid came around 6:30 pm to clean the room. I specifically asked if there was a safe in the room. I couldn't find it. I did look in every drawer, closet. The pool was nicer than expected, they have separate saunas for men and women. The exercise room has some outdated equipment with few dumbbells, treadmills. We took an excursion to Quebec City. The hotel did not have a concierge. Only pamphlets on the Metro, city map, local take out menus, and one excursion company. When we asked the front desk about excursions, we were told to call the company from our room. The excursion company was surprised the hotel didn't book it for us. The hotel was a good value. Probably would stay again, but would go elsewhere ritzy-er if I got a good deal. "Great Location Downtown Montreal"
Its located a block from Atwater & St Catherine which is the western edge of St Catherines Happening Area ( East most being Place des Art ) It had a kitchen . Furniture was old but ok. Even had a CRT TV which you probably shouldnt be watching anyway while on a vacation. It didnt have parking and the best option is to park underground in the forum building […] which is the next left turn from Hotel ( about $22 Per Day) Best thing is ..you can walk and see all of Downtown Montreal from here . Basically if you are seeing Downtown Montreal and Old Port no need to take your car out again . Use your legs or underground metro . You would see the Sous-Terrain ie Underground City too . It is definitely an old building but it likely the best deal for a right downtown hotel . Had a pool in penthouse that we didnt use : Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

i thought this hotel was great! They did a great job of always having fresh new towels and our bed tiddy each day that we stayed there. Even has a microwave and a steam […] pot, oh and a coffee maker which i found to be just perfect! Had a small tv in there too which was convenient when we got back tired from our sight-seeing. They have a indoor pool, sauna, that we could use! Also, you're able to go on the rooftop to have a spectacular view of the city! Service was very helpful to us!
