"clean, good location, in need of renovations"
Overall a very positive stay. Room was clean and personnel - helpful and nice. Location was great. But hotel is in need of renovation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff, lovely place"
This place is within walking distance to the Metro, and Stéphanie at the front desk was eager to hand me a map and tell me how to get to Old Montreal. The room itself was charming and neat. La Tour Belvedere is also one street over from St. Catherine, which has a huge selection of restaurants of myriad ethnicities (the Turkish and Korean fare was my […] favorite). Roula who served breakfast was also a delight to talk to. I will definitely be back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was a huge plus, close to subway, downtown, and within walking distance of St. Catherine with lots of dining options available. We read that many of the rooms here have been remodeled, unfortunately the room we got was not one of those. It definitely can use a good updating. It was spacious and clean however, and has a balcony, offering […] good views of the city. We also like having the fully equipped kitchenette. We would stay here again and hopefully we'll get one of updated room next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a great experience at this Hotel. Even though the parking in the basement tests your skills of what your car measurements actually are. Rooms were great and the views from the Penthouse were amazing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not fancy but well priced and clean."
Furnishings were newer, and nicely coordinated, close to many restaurants and the Metro. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a place to make your own breakfast and relax in the morning before going out sight-seeing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location, close to BIXI and subway stop."
Overall this was a good hotel for 2 people, weekend trip in Montreal. We only paid roughly $90 per night, so for 2 nights that's not bad at all. The room was older and the bathroom tub was clearly in need of an update, as well as the blankets and sheets, some had holes in them, the mattress was too soft and old. However the room was very big, with a […] balcony and a full kitchen, and a sofa plus eat-in table. thats why overall i feel this was good money for the time, and we spent most of our time outside the hotel anyway. I have to say that the check-in and check-out process was very smooth, very friendly staff. i would recommend this place to travelers that are looking for a bigger room and on a budget, like a small family of 3-4 or a young couple or friends that just need a place to stay for a weekend. Otherwise there is nothing luxurious or modern about this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Check in was quick, attendants were friendly and spoke english well. Asked for a renovated room weeks prior to arrival but felt it was still dated decor. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Roof top view was beautiful. Parking garage has a 5 foot 6inch entrance beware if you have a large vehilce. Hotel two block from metro 7 blocks from popular […] restaurants and shopping. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would have preferred something closer to the main action. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for the price and location"
I would recommend this place as an alternate place to stay for convenience and price. Although I don't travel to Canada very often, I would stay here in a heartbeat. It's within walking distance to anywhere downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
my stay - business - was excellent. Good downtown location, very accommodating staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A bit bizare, a bit business, a bit good deal"
First time in Montreal. Didn't realize which part of the city the hotel was. St. Catherine Street is the main street. It is only a block away, but the old city is EAST St. Catherine's; The hotel is WEST St. Catherine's, so there isn't a chance you are going to walk to the sights. The Atwater Metro station is only a block away. The metro is very good, […] so the location of the hotel isn't an issue. These are apartments, had a kitchen, not kitchenette, dining area overlooking the living room, two closets, a bedroom. It was clean, although our first full day, the maid came around 6:30 pm to clean the room. I specifically asked if there was a safe in the room. I couldn't find it. I did look in every drawer, closet. The pool was nicer than expected, they have separate saunas for men and women. The exercise room has some outdated equipment with few dumbbells, treadmills. We took an excursion to Quebec City. The hotel did not have a concierge. Only pamphlets on the Metro, city map, local take out menus, and one excursion company. When we asked the front desk about excursions, we were told to call the company from our room. The excursion company was surprised the hotel didn't book it for us. The hotel was a good value. Probably would stay again, but would go elsewhere ritzy-er if I got a good deal. "Good Price, Night Staff not Trusting"
I was told i had to pay extra funds by the night staff in order to have my friends crash at my hotel, which i already paid for. However it was not charged to my room, they said the machine was not working. They only wanted cash from me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location Downtown Montreal"
Its located a block from Atwater & St Catherine which is the western edge of St Catherines Happening Area ( East most being Place des Art ) It had a kitchen . Furniture was old but ok. Even had a CRT TV which you probably shouldnt be watching anyway while on a vacation. It didnt have parking and the best option is to park underground in the forum building […] which is the next left turn from Hotel ( about $22 Per Day) Best thing is ..you can walk and see all of Downtown Montreal from here . Basically if you are seeing Downtown Montreal and Old Port no need to take your car out again . Use your legs or underground metro . You would see the Sous-Terrain ie Underground City too . It is definitely an old building but it likely the best deal for a right downtown hotel . Had a pool in penthouse that we didnt use : Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Terrible facilities was the price for convenience"
Whilst the hotel was located relatively close to downtown Montreal the staff were not particularly pleasant & the bedroom in our suite had peeling pain & crack in the ceiling. Whilst our original reservation was for 2 the suite had ample space & linen for 3 ppl - however the staff at the hotel were very persistent in charging for another individual […] (even though the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable). "Great for Down town"
i thought this hotel was great! They did a great job of always having fresh new towels and our bed tiddy each day that we stayed there. Provided us with a couple plates, bowls, utensils, a small shampoo, body wash, soap for us. The floor was clean, kitchen was tiny but good enough to use the stove or oven if needed. Even has a microwave and a steam […] pot, oh and a coffee maker which i found to be just perfect! Had a small tv in there too which was convenient when we got back tired from our sight-seeing. They have a indoor pool, sauna, that we could use! Also, you're able to go on the rooftop to have a spectacular view of the city! Service was very helpful to us! They made sure we had a cab to pick us up after our stay. Overall, for the price i paid, i think this hotel was perfect. It makes you feel at home. :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't rate hotel based on surrounding area!"
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and a good value! When we first drove up to the hotel we were apprehensive about our choice based on the surrounding area, but once we went inside the hotel we felt alot better. We really enjoyed our stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the sheets were not rough, the doors were heavy to close and made so much noise when closing that I could hear when a door was being closed down the hall. This hotel was no frills, but it was clean, in a safe neighborhood and close to public transportation. The staff were friendly and the price was great for Montreal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great room, but bathroom needs work"
The location was fantastic. One block and half from the Metro; one block from St. Catherine Street (shopping and restaurants) and a few blocks from the center of the downtown area. Everything was within walking distance. We had a studio apartment complete with appliances, dishes, flatware. The one negative item was the bathroom which, although clean, […] had damaged walls and shower paneling. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel - convenient and spacious"
This was a perfect hotel for our 5 day trip to Montreal. It was 2 easy blocks to the Metro. It is close to St. Catherine which offered many restaurants and 2 large grocery stores. Although the building and furniture is old, the rooms are extremely spacious and exceptionally clean. I would highly recommend this hotel for the location and value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location with lots of room in the suites"

"Good Hotel. Poor breakfast service"
We had nice rooms, and the reception staff was very cordial. The breakfast room and staff was completely overwhelmed with what they described as an unexpected number of guests. (Shouldn't they know who is going to be there?) Food was scarce coffee difficult to find. No staff to help. The $10.00 per person fee was certainly not worth the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenience to Metro & supermarket"
We are a big group & the kitchen helped us a lot with our budget. The convenience to the metro is also very helpful. Will come back again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient and Comfortable"
Having stayed at the Belvedere before I knew I would be comfortable; but the management has outdone itself with upgrades in every room. The old wall-to-wall carpets have been replaced with cool hardwood floors which are much easier to keep clean and just look very sleek. The kitchenettes still have older appliances, but they all worked well; and there […] were enough pots and pans, dishes and cutlery to prepare and serve our meals. The new business center just off the lobby has two computers for some quick email checks as well as internet connections to make show or dinner reservations. The other major upgrade was the rooftop pool area. There, the deck has been replaced with bright graphics and comfortable-under-foot, slip-proof surfaces. New chairs for the sun deck also were a welcome change.Just a block from the Atwater Metro station as well as from two super markets, a shopping mall and a few churches, the Belvedere definitely rates return visits. There is limited paid parking available at the hotel (first-come basis), although we didn't have much trouble finding street parking. The front desk and housekeeping staffs were courteous and helpful (fresh fruit on the front desk, too). Again, we'll stay often. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"convenient location, reasonably priced"
The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was pleasant and spacious, if a little outdated. The lack of shelf space in the bathroom to put your toiletries on was annoying, and the fact that there were no tissues supplied. I had not pre-booked a parking space so the lack of parking was frustrating. The internet should be free - did […] not appreciate the extra charge per night for this! "Everything was great."
We skipped on breakfast since if was little basic. Also, they need new elevators ASAP. On the bright side, taking the stairs to and from the 14th floor, help work off some of the great Montreal food we ate. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so fast!"
The suite was great. The attractive initial price of $125/night was a trap as we had to add $16 for parking, $5 for WiFi and 20$ for breakfast (10$/adult, kids eat for free).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very old room"
In a last minute thought, I decided to use this hotel. The price was a little high but It was a great location. This hotel was the perfect middle ground for my trip. Its right next to St. Catherine's strip and the Atwater metro. We were able to experience downtown Montreal without the noise that comes with the activity. The pool was warm and well kept. Great views as well from our suite, the penthouse, and the roof. Adored the kitchenette which was very helpful […] to us throughout are stay when we wanted to make meals. The staff was friendly, but slow with requests. For instance we asked for more towels and pillows prior to the stay but didn't get them. So when we asked for more towels it took them a while to get to us... The price we paid was not worth the quality of our suite, but if we used all their amenities then yes. Also the images on their website did not match actuality. Other than that the hotel was a great pick. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"La Tour Pee-yewww!!"
When you walk into the hotel you see a small, yet updated, lobby space. The rooms, however, were a clear departure from this. While very spacious, they definitely needed updating. The chairs at the table looked like they were taken from a cafeteria. The rugs definitely had seen better days and the room had a bit of a smell. We had a balcony, which was […] nice, but it needed a power-washing BADLY. The hotel itself, minus the lobby, also needed some work. When we got there, they were only operating with one elevator, so it took a while to get to our room. On the way out for the evening, the elevator was taking particularly long so we said we'd take the steps, but decided against it upon smelling (bad smells, again!) the stairwell. The bright spot of this hotel was the staff. They were extremely kind, courteous and helpful with everything we needed, printing directions out to our local destinations that we were driving to and overall pleasant demeanor. All in all, I guess i can't complain for the price we paid. If you'd like a lot of room for relatively little price and you're a betting man/woman who doesn't navigate steps and are willing to roll the dice on getting a less malodorous room, then go for it. For me, I'll probably look for some other digs on my next trip to Montreal Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
