The fact that this hotel had a roof-top pool appealed to me. The pool is quite small and less than a meter deep. It was more like a bird bath. The hotel also charged approx. 20 Euros for access to the wifi -- which I found to be highway robbery.

Not quite a 4 star hotel IMO. But it is a solid 3 star hotel by North American standards. Cost effective, clean and great front desk service. Parking is NOT free. It is about €10 per day. On par for other hotels so not a big deal. I would stay there again.

This hotel is not far from the Metro so you can get to the tourist sights and travel around that way. We were in walking distance to the bull fight ring and some good restaurants. The room was well kept. The swimming pool and work out room is on the roof. It was a very nice view of the city.

The daytime staff was as pleasant and accommodating as the night staff (1:00AM was off-putting and one step short of rude. Location not an issue as we knew where the hotel is located.

The hotel is a bit out of the way, but not a bad choice if you don't mind walking about 5 minutes to the metro. The first night they put us in a room next to a really busy road. We asked to be moved and they were very happy to, they even provided a gift for good measure. The hotel is a typical Holiday Inn. It's a bit old on the outside. The neighborhood […] doesn't have a lot by way of restaurants, unless your're willing to walk about 5 minutes and then you have a lot of choices. The pool is about the size of a hot tub, but we didn't book the hotel for the pool. Breakfast was not included, and was much more than we were willing to pay. This was the second time I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Lisbon. Staff was great and very helpfull. Maintenance was doing a little building work at the main entrance so the asthetics could of been a little better. The front desk staff was not as kind, they were not helpful when we ask for a taxi for 4 people (we had to go in separate cars) and they could not answer a simple question as the weather forecast. The hotel is not located in the center, the subway station is about a 10 minutes walk, there is a nice street near by with shops and cafes. From the metro station to the city is a fast ride. Single traveller. Size of room good, beds, pillows, room furniture adequate and comfortable (although the seat of one of the chairs looked dirty). TV good - selection of English channels (was important as a mainly English speaking person coming from another non-English speaking European country:). August 2010 My husband and I just returned from an 8 night stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to others. We stayed on the first floor, room 115. The Holiday Inn Lisbon was a wonderful, clean, spacious and comfortably modern hotel with multi-lingual and helpful staff. The bar and restaurant had very friendly and helpful waiters as well. Internet […] access and a small gift shop tucked away in the corner along with the roof-top pool are other amenities that made our visit extra special. Our room was large and spotlessly clean, with a full shower, bath, toilet and bidet and the water heater for tea/coffee was clean (I often find the inside of them very smelly and grungy in most hotels). Although advertised as "close" to metro stops, we in fact walked 10-12 minutes to the closest one. We were basically on street level, and the city collects garbage every night at about midnight. For those that turn into bed early, the room positioning may be a problem due to noise. The rooftop pool, although beautiful, is usually full with screaming children rendering a relaxing and romantic float impossible. Lastly, our flight was delayed one day due to bad weather in the States - causing us to travel to Lisbon a day later than planned. Most hotel policies state no refunds but will accommodate when extenuating circumstances arise. Holiday Inn Lisbon adheres to their “no refund” policy - we were forced to pay for a night for a room that we did not stay in. Read more

Only good thing was the size of Junior suite. The AC did not work. The staff was of no help. They did not offer us WiFi , welcome drinks, fruit , these were all included in our deal . We stayed there for four days but service was disappointing. Will never stay ion this hotel again.

Very nice hotel, it was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is about a 45 minute walk to the Baixa area and a short cab ride to most key Lisbon attractions. Very reasonable price for the quality of hotel.

We booked a suite for 3 adults and 1 adult slept on the sofa bed in the lounge. The mattress on the sofa bed was very thin and would have been uncomfortable so we made the bed up using the sofa and chair cushions with the mattress on the top. Nice and clean hotel however lack of free wii-fi is disadvantage for me and also if you want to leave your car in the hotel car park you need to pay extra for that. Besides all this I would recomend the hotel to my friends.

A 10 minute walk to Almeida metro station, although it is uphill on the way back. Bus 720 runs between the metro and hotel. Direct metro to Baixa Chaido for sights and restuarants. Breakfast buffet good quality and choice, inclduing bacon, sausage and egg - altough a little expensive at €15. I specifcally booked a room with two double beds and I recevied […] one with one bed and a poor quality sofabed - but the receptionist apologised and upgraded us to a suite, at no cost. Taxi from the airport was €9. At the end of my stay I went to the aiport to get my hire car and drove back to the hotel to pick up the family - It was easy to find my way back. Hotel parking is €14 a day, but you can park safely on the street. There is a supermarket 2 minutes walk away, and a convenience store which seels cold beer and wine. Nothing much else in the immediate local area. The pool was small but ideal after a long days sightseeing, and the roof terrace has great views, a bar and sunbeds. I would recomened this as a good hotel for a few days visit to Lisbon Read more

A good hotel, with friendly staff. The pool is small though, and did get busy, and the two small lifts were not adequate really for the number of rooms, especially when one was out of order! The staff did step in and let us use the service lift however, and the room was clean and spacious.

The hotel is in the business area of lisbon, however it is in walking distance to a good metro link. Nearly all of the attractions in the city are close by, so living in this area meant we had a very nice, quiet sleep, no sound of traffic, people which was great. The staff were very hospitable and would help out. The only disadvantage is that the […] breakfast is expensive (about 15 euros each) and the variety of the breakfast wasn't great. If you can get a cheap deal with the breakfast then thats fine. Otherwise I would recommend you to eat breakfast in the locals cafes, much cheaper and lovely atmosphere. In general the people in portugal are very helpful and friendly. A three day stay is plenty to sight see and enjoy the food/atmosphere. Read more
