The room heating was not working. The front desk gave me a personal heater, which fortunately was able to heat the room sufficiently.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will never stay here again."
The night I arrived they did not have the room I reserved. (Standard King) They gave me two double beds instead. The toilet in my room did not flush and wind was blowing around a closed door and the room had an adjoining door to the next room, that es locked but the TV in the other room was so loud that I knew sleeping was going to be impossible. I […] complained and was moved to another room but it was also sub par and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for!"
My boyfriend and I were looking for something low in price and comfortable where we could get some shut eye before trekking home to Newport, RI. The room was nothing fancy, but the bed was comfortable and the room was warm - for $50 what more can you really ask for? The checkout time was earlier (either 10 a.m. or 11 a.m.) than our other hotels that […] week so we kind of got run out the door, but what are you gonna do? Overall we were satisfied. It served its purpose just fine and the motel is conveniently located near Route 7 and Route 89 - as well as lots of places to stop for gas, food, etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Where is global warming when you need it?"
There were two couples and we had reserved two rooms. The rooms had outside entrances. The outside temperature was two below zero. Both doors were frozen shut. After an unsuccessful attempt at opening them, the manaer gave us other rooms. They were cold inside. We turned the thermostats to 75 and left for supper. When we returned, it was still cold […] inside. We turned the thermostats up to maximum (85 degrees) and went to bed to warm up. It was still cold inside the next morning. Neither of the bathroom heaters worked. We will probably avoid an Econolodge motel in the future at all costs. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"convenient location to my destination"
I was happy with my stay. I don't stay away from home very much at all, but I was comfortable and felt safe at this hotel. The bed was a little harder than I'm use to but it was a very nice place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice People Tired Facility"
The staff of the Econo Lodge were nice and helpful. The Breakfast was the same fare you get at any Choice Hotel. The room was clean enough but not spotless. The interior was tired and the room had a large moldy spot on the cieling. In the morning I found out why. The roof is failing and either has or does leak. I was told the plan is to tear three of […] the 4 buildings down and start with something new. This plan is not firm so it appears the facility is in a holding patern that mean minimum expenditures on upgrades, which explains the condition of the building. For the money paid it was not bad but nothing to write home to mom about. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'd stay there again.."
Cleanliness is most important to me, and this placed was OK, although not perfect. It was good in the places that mattered most. Heavy rains poured down that day, and a large and very deep (3"?) puddle formed in front of the door. We had to trudge through that several times that night. It was gone by morning. Hotels.com said we'd have a microwave and […] small fridge, but that didn't get communicated to the front desk. The desk clerk was pleasant, and helpful. The environs were quiet. I'd stay there again. Decent value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice resort-great location, clean and updated"
Very nice resort, better than expected. Great location, clean and updated. Room has everything you need including a fireplace & tub with jets. The room is a little tight but includes a desk, lovely cushy chair with ottoman. The Hotels.com website has not been updated to indicate that there is free wireless internet in the rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Moldy smell and NO free internet"
I chose this hotel because it was the only available room in the area, at a price that I could afford, on a popular weekend. My first impression was that this hotel room had a good layout, not too small. But the mold smell was very distinct. I turned on the AC, which was old, falling apart and very NOISY, to try and dry out the room. It only helped […] a little. The blanket on my bed had strange stains on it. Why would anyone who made up this bed not notice that and think it was ok?! The free internet service that was promised did not work. The clerk told me that it only works for laptops, not mobile devices. Seriously ridiculous. The free breakfast has not fresh fresh fruit, just sugar waffles and toast. "Another worn out hotel badly in need of remodeling"
Had to go back and ask for a different room right away because our non-smoking room was nearly blue with cigarette smoke. Clerk admitted that a drunken wedding party had stayed there the night before. The next room was dingy and worn but smelled like cleaning product instead of cigarette smoke. There was a half inch gap where caulk should have been […] between the top of the bath tub and the wall surround. I think water is running right down in the wall. The plastic tub floor felt spongy under my feet which I assume means a rotton floor under it. The whole room was just basically old, worn, and in need of remodeling. Oh and the air conditioner unit on the wall made an annoying noise like the fan was broken or something all night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"very disappointed in this motel"
This motel is badly in need of remodeling. It was clean but mattresses were hard, towels scratchy, bedding rough and bathroom and room needed serious remodeling.Genuine Expedia guest review
Motel looked nothing like picture. that must have been taken 10 years ago. condition was old clean but scarey. we survived but would not reccomendGenuine Expedia guest review
Was dissatisfied with cleanliness of bathroom. The floor had not been swept and wide patches of mold on floor and around tub seams. Many small repairs both inside and outside room were needed. Continental breakfast was the barest minimum. Would not stay in that Econo Lodge againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Couldn't wait to leave. Would have changed hotels but too tired. Manager was accommodating and let me change rooms but room was still musty and outdated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would not have passed a black light test"

"close to all the events we were attending"
For the price, it was a let down. The room was in poor condition, the door hardly opened or closed without forcing it, the lighting was poor, the tub dripped , and the drain was extremely slow. We stayed at a Best Western on our return trip which cost less and was far more comfortable, clean, etc. than the econolodge room. The breakfast selection was […] much better, too. "Not the best choice"
Bathroon condition was deplorable. Generally a less than perfect place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was not clean enough. smelled too bad. I couldn't sleep very well. I booked non smoking, but they put me in a smoking room. I arrived after mid night, they did whatever they wanted to. vever ever go back to that hotel, even it was for free.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The motel is old and barely maintained. The concrete lower walkway on my building was heaved upward (by frost), leaving the stairways at a rakish angle. On arrival, I entered the first "non-smoking" suite they sent me to, and it smelled of stale cigarette smoke. She gave me a key to another room that smelled much better. The suite was spacious, but […] the decor and furnishings were 20 years out of date. The bathroom sink was cracked, there was hair in the shower, mildew in the corners, peeling wallpaper full of holes from previously mounted shelves or towel bars - and the wastebasket hadn't been emptied. I found bits of Ramen noodles in the kitchen sink. The housekeeping staff wasn't very detail oriented to say the least. When I arrived and turned on the TV, it had been left tuned to a movie channel, which was showing a rather explicit film at the time. I was glad my granddaughter wasn't along. The crowning glory though, was the 4am surprise - they hadn't checked to see if the alarm clock was shut off. This was a first in over 40 years of travel. NEVER AGAIN! "Not worth saving the money!"
Where do I start? The previous guest's face cloth was in the tub. Tub wasn't clean. The room waste basket wasn't emptied from previous guest. I had to turn on the AC/Fan to drown out the neighbor's noise and noticed that the AC unit was disgustingly dirty and in serious need of replacement. Must have been 10 years old. The blinds in the bathroom were […] very dirty and also should be replaced. Just very old. Complimentary breakfast was nice however. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pleased with inexpensive room."
The room was fine. Was looking for an inexpensive place to stay to cut down on travel. Saved time and travel since I needed to be in the area for two days. cost was less expensive than gas. Allowed me to catch the Final Four games and get some rest. Continental breakfast was a plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was obvious the room was poorly cleaned before my stay; I found a pair of dirty socks, two water bottles and an empty can of catfood in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was fairly descent for the price. The bathroom however was absolutely disgusting. Cracks in the floor. Dirty wash cloth on shower rod. Cigarette makes on counter. Bathroom didn't look like it had been thoroughly cleaned in years.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place, horrible neighbors"
The room was great for the price, however even though the hotel was mostly empty we were given a room right next to monthly tenants who were very loud, very inconsiderate and kept us up until after midnight both days. "Last option if there are no choices"
I hate to hear sounds from other room at nights.. coughing, laughing, talking, ababy crying, you name it you'll hear all kinda sounds. It was fine for my one night stay but can't stand it for one more night. This should be your last choice if you can't find any other hotel in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Econo Lodge Inn, acceptable accomodation,"
Aging accomodation, needs improvement, room musty, appear clean. Convient to Burlington.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Second visit in two weeks, different room, same isssues"
In brief, the motel is not well maintained. Knobs missing on heater, slow sink drain, tile and baseboards pulled away and not replaced around tub, etc. It is clean, although the cleaning rag was left by the staff in the sink when I arrived, and the location is reasonable depending on your reasons for staying in the Burlington area.Genuine Expedia guest review
I did not really expect much, but got way less than that. The rain we arrived in was dripping in a solid sheet in front of the door, presumably because of poor gutter maintenance. The water was puddling sufficiently to make entry to the room a bit of a challenge. The room was clean and basic as we expected. There are no extras like a microwave or a […] little refrigerator. The bathroom sink drained very slow and the sliding patio style door, which would have been the only way to get fresh air other than leaving the front door open, was inoperable. The continental breakfast consisted of You-make waffles or white bread toast options and two kinds of cold cereal. There was no fruit but there was some (diluted?) juice and reasonably palatable coffee. In short, a little care for the building and the room's structural function like sink drains, gutters, and doors that work, would have yielded a bettter review. The location is convenient for the Shellburne Museum, a must-see. It is not the best location if your plans include mostly Burlington Town itself. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I spent a nasty night at the Econolodge in Shelburne VT. I made a reservation because of the convenient location. The room was dilapidated, with broken sagging window shade, and the noise all night from trucks made rest difficult. The bed and coverings were old and the springs squeaked and sagged as I sat on the bed. The shower was dirty, with layers […] of crusty dark stuff in all the corners. It was depressing and creepy. The only thing indicating attention from the cleaning service was a handy envelope asking for tips. The internet worked. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"little pricey but good location"
Non smoking room smelled like stale smoke. No fan in bathroom, and only one window opened. Was very close to downtown Burlington. Bout 8 min drive to church st. Continental breakfast was lame, no fruit or any kind . Little pricey all in allGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We were promised a non-smoking room which it clearly wasn't. They were accommodating when we asked to switch rooms. The room was not cheap and the place needs updating. The breakfast in the morning was acceptable but nothing to rave about. Defnitely not worth the money.Genuine Expedia guest review

"she aint what she use to be"
When entering my nonsmoking room the first thing I smelled was smoke. The bathroom was cleaned but was way overdue maintenance.. Caucing missing and falling appart and mildewing, trim boards rotting at bottoms from being wet and toilet bowl and tank lid broken. The built in airconditioner was a window type with all the vent fins missing caussing it […] to blow directly on the bed. The vents in the underside of the roof outside the rooms were broken out (lots of them) and birds were living in the roof. They scared my girlfriend becouse they spook and fly out almost hitting you in the head when you walk by. I am sure it was a nice place at one time but the cheeper motel 6 in Colchester is much nicer. This hotel should be priced at about $45 a night. The continental breakfast was a joke. They didn't put out enough stuf and when wyou ask at the desk for more, they put out enough for you so everyone has to ask for food. Smart way to not use as much stuff but everyonf there was upset and I am sure will not return Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Econo Hotel a/k/a Bates Motel"
I would not recommend staying here -- cost was astronomical based on amenities and condition of hotel. The icing on the cake was having to knock on our next door neighbor's door at midnight to ask them to stop arguing, as we could not sleep!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location and people, so-so room"
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable enough. The bathtub, however, was quite dirty, which was a problem since my daughter needed a bath.
