Alittle run down , but they are renovating the office and front area. Rooms need a little more maintance with heating systems. Ours had a fan noise in it Beds in our room were fine and other than Route 1 traffic noise most of the night, it wasn't bad!! Try and stay on other side of building away from noise.

My first reaction was at the neighborhood. I didn't get to the hotel until after dark, and from what I could see I was in the middle of a ghetto. The outside condition of the hotel was maintained, barely. The lobby felt shabby, maybe even ratty, and the fact that I had to be buzzed in didn't help my unease about the immediate area. But the woman behind […] the desk seemed friendly and happy to help with whatever I needed (even though $2 for a bottle of water seemed a little steep to me). At first I was happy about having a room one-over from the lobby. Being pregnant and hungry, it wasn't a very long walk back to visit the vending machine and get the wifi password. My room stank. Literally. It wasn't like FILTHY kind of stink, but like a maid being of the opinion "Meh; good enough" mixed with mildew kind of stink. All around the sink and in front of the bathroom door the floor was soaking wet (probably from a pipe leak, seeing as it was still just as saturated by morning). I was severely disappointed when I turned on the TV and could barely make out anything through the black-and-white fuzz. But luckily that was only because it was only on the wrong channel. I finally fell asleep around 5 when the sun started to rise. The day-shift lobby guy was pretty cool, but even with the nice staff, an all-in-all not great place. I guess the only other plus is that it's only a $16 taxi ride from BWI. Read more

My recent stay at the Econolodge in Elkridge, Maryland was less than satisfactory. I am a Choice Hotels rewards member and I always look to stay at Choice hotels first whenever I do my traveling. My experiences up until this point have been very good. However, my most recent stay at the Econolodge in Elkridge was very unsatisfactory. I was traveling […] with my father and our visit was so bad that we were tempted to check out and stay at another hotel (we stayed because we arrived late in the evening and didn’t want the hassle). A couple of not so cheery highlights are below: 1. A horrible musty smell was in our room and what was even worse was the amount of Lysol that was used to cover it up. The Lysol smell stayed throughout the evening. 2. The air conditioner in our room was not very efficient and kept cutting off throughout the evening. The temperature for the evening was very hot and my father received very little sleep. 3. There were ZERO large towels in the bathroom. I called the front desk in the morning and I had to run down to get the towels because the front desk attendant was unable to leave his desk. This is not a big deal that I had to go get towels, but I was just annoyed that there was zero in the room. I understand this particular hotel/experience is not the standard that Choice hotels set for itself. I am hopeful that this was just an aberration, but I do have doubts for staying in the future. Wasn't very happy with this hotel at all.... It sufficed as me and three others just needed a place to crash for the night. Pros: The only + about this motel is the location as it was convenient for us and close to where we were going to be for the day. Cons: This is where it gets ugly.... most of the channels on the TV didn't work due to no digital […] converter on the analog TV... not to mention that the remote didnt work at all. Even though the room was non-smoking, it had a distinct musky/smoky odor. The "continental" breakfast consisted of a stale bagel. I had a problem with my key not working 2 nights in a row, the bed was very hard, the shower floor was stained, there is only one iron in the whole hotel so we had to wait on the iron to iron our clothes which meant that we missed the maids coming to clean the rooms so we never had new linens, the tv stopped working the first night and the door man […] had to come unplug the tv and cable to reboot it, the remote gave me issues when i went to change the channel on the tv. Loved this stay for the low price. Was here for 2 nights and very convenient to BWI. Was a 5 minute drive. Located at the end of the main strip action of elkridge. No neighbors or anything to worry about. Hotel was packed almost full, whcih could see why. I've stayed in many low scale places and this by far exceeded it. Clean bedding, Clean floord, […] Spotless bathroom. Towels and soap were provided. Fridge was cold! Microwave worked too. Really, nothing bad to say.
