Location to the Fairgounds was great and why I picked this hotel. You get what you pay for so it there were no failures of expectation. There isn't anything around the hotel. The negative was the musty smell, but I find this common in this catagory of hotels. It was a good stay, nothing that stood out. For the money, I would recommend it. The room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel's location is by far the best thing about it, but it was clean and relatively comfortable. My only real complaint is the shampoo packets. I understand you are trying to help the environment, and that's great. BUT! please leave more than one packet. There is about a quarter's worth of shampoo in there. Needless to say my hair was not clean. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we will stay there again if another concert comes up.

I paid over $70 for my room and the bathroom was not cleaned there was a live spider in tub which meant they not clean the tub and a dead roach beside tub in floor which means they not clean the floor because it was laying in plain view and the toilet had dirt in the bottom of bowl and water or something all over the seat and cover, there was no microwave nor a small refrige. They stated that when I called about the bugs, and there was also a dead fly on the sink, again not cleaned or it wouldn't of been there, anyways, they didn't have another room they would move me and my brother to. For the price I was very very unsatisfied, I clean condos for a living and I would of gotten fired if I would of left a room like that, I feel they owe me a refund or a free night stay at another location at my leisure, I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Overall a nice hotel, and convenient location (at the crossroads of 2 interstates!). Have stayed several times recently. Very clean rooms and usually very friendly staff. My only complaint is that some of the rooms have a damp smell and the 1 or 2 of the beds are probably needing to be replaced. Good deal for the money!

This hotel is located with walking distance to the fairgrounds. We stayed here for Tampa's Next Big Thing concert series and were able to wake up just before the start, walk over, and not have to worry about parking. The ares itself wasn't the nicest, but overall the stay was enjoyable. Our room had two beds, was clean, good size, and a great price. If you are seeing a show I would strongly advise staying here and there is a wing house right next door so you really don't have to drive anywhere.

My son paid $200.00 for tickets to go to a concert. Flew down, was able to get a ride to the hotel but called 3 hours in advance to get a taxi to get to the concert and no one showed up! He missed the concert because they had a contract with yellow cab co. and would not call anyone else or give him any other numbers to call. They were way over priced for the area and did not try to help once you are there. Allthough when it was time to go back to the air port they were early. It really bites when you spend that much money and don't even get to see what you went to Florida to see. They are terrible at customer service!

Let me start by saying I will never stay at this hotel again. The first room we were given had a faulty smoke detector, it went off every 40 min. The clerk came down to give us a different room, that room had a broken t.v. When we told him about it, he said "Oh, I knew that one was broken..." We were then given a thrid room which we ended up staying in. All 3 rooms had a bug problem and bad plumbing. We only stayed there because it was across the street from the arena. 1. Don't reserve two nights if you think your plans will change, even if it is a extenuating reason. The hotel will not budge on its policy to not refund for cancelled nights after check-in. I know that Hotel.com notes this but wanted to share my disgust for not considering exceptions. Next time, I would reserve one night and extend if needed. I could understand if the hotel was on the beach but this is not luxury by any stretch. 2. Red Roof is generally clean and comfy. This hotel is as old as the hills and well worn. The shower/bath unit did not drain out properly and I had to stand in water above my ankles to take a shower. 3. The location is excellent if you are going to the Ford Ampitheatre, Fairgrounds or Casino and convenient to downtown. 4. If you are just crashing at night and want a cheap room, it is for you. If you have anyone with you that is particular, avoid this place.
