Hotel was nice and remodeled like in the previous reviews.... BUT lol the noise around is crazy you gotta take a couple of tylenol pm's to get through the night. Im not sure if there's a hospital but all the fire trucks and engines would be loud. No matter where your room your gonna hear so if your a heavy sleeper you got no problem. It bothered me that they called me at 9:30 am and 10:15 to see if we were leaving on our check out date, check out wasn't till 11 am!! Umm your safe around the neighborhood you will hear some occasional yelling between the homeless but nothing too crazy didn't see too many of them. You pay for what you get and it was worth the money was only in the room to sleep. No frige or microwave wish they did.

Not only the noise from the street was annoying, but also whenever someone was using the water supply system, the noise was remarkably irritating. Also, I didn't find the guy in the front desk very kind. Whenever I asked him a question he was giving me the impression that I'm bothering him. Even though the hotel is in a relatively good location and provides free parking, be aware of the noise problem - I had to use earplugs after loosing most of my sleep in the first night.

I spent about a day reading scary reviews of hotels that were dirty, noisy, dangerous, etc. Finally found this one which didn't sound scary and booked it with low expectations as the lesser of several evils. What I found instead was on-site parking, friendly staff, clean room, recently upgraded bathroom, etc. Very pleasantly surprised. Right on a busy street but no road noise audible in the room. I'm going to remember this one for future visits!

Well how should I begin... The hotel was nice enough for the section of Frisco that we were in, which happened to be the Tenderloin. If I had known the exact section of town I was going to be in, I would have chosen a different hotel. The location was great because it was within walking distance to the cable cars and buses but not great because of the environment. I would not recommend this area for anyone with children because we were literally across the street from an X-rated theater and there were many homeless people on the street as well as drug pushers. It was an interesting experience to say the least. Next time I would pay a little more money to stay in a cleaner area.

As stated in some of the other reviews, there is some noise from busy Polk St. However, this did not interrupt our sleep. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The motel is located within easy walking distance of downtown, union square and chinatown.I have read some of the very over reactive reviews to the neighborhood. My wife and I walked around the area during daytime, nighttime, and only had one person ask for money. We never felt threatened and actually enjoyed the entire experience. Some people on here have obviously led VERY sheltered lives. I will stay here everytime we go to San Francisco

The hotel has limited parking. I came in on a Wed and just left my car parked for my 5 day stay. The room was very clean and the workers were decent. Not the friendliest but not jerks either. The neighborhood is a little risky at night so I'd suggest not walking alone. The outside traffic noise is typical for city noise but the walls are thin so if your on the bottom floor you hear every time the people above you move. The location is perfect walking distance from a lot of stuff, and a great price for downtown SF.

It only cost 90$ for two of us to stay in this newly renovated hotel. It came with a large flatscreen TV that had really good picture quality and tons of channels, which was great for relaxing after a long day exploring the city. There is free parking which was key for us, but you have to make sure to get there early because spaces are limited. The bathroom was good too. The sink is located outside the bathroom in the main room which was a little strange, but nothing to complain about.

We booked our SanFran hotel last minute and found this hotel to be satisfactory. The surrounding area provides little sightseeing worthy attraction but the Alexis happens to be only 5-7 blocks away from several means of public transportation. The complimentary breakfast is very basic and is a first come first serve type deal. A particular male staff was extremely helpful and considerate, providing maps and insight to the city. The area can get a bit noisey but nothing compared to the near pier experience our traveling friends had to cope with.

If you don't mind walking or taking the bus to the touristy destinations and don't need a super fancy hotel, then its great. It was clean, and the front desk man helped us with directions for where we needed to go. Just make sure you don't accidentally walk through the Tenderloin neighborhood with your valuables, which is east of the hotel and in the direction of one of the BART stops. The neighborhood the hotel is in is perfectly fine as long as you aren't walking around in the wee hours of the morning.

The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but it is a great bargain. Rooms are better than you would think for the price. Had all the amenities of other, higher priced hotels without the higher price. Room was comfortable, quiet, very nice. Staff wasn't outstanding but they weren't bad either - would rate them as 'average' overall. Parking could be a problem if the hotel booked up full, but we always had plenty of spaces to choose from. Photos do not do the hotel or the room justice. Definately a pearl hidden in a jar of marbles.

This hotel has obviously been redone: the floor tiling looks brand new, showers are new, etc. Parking is limited but we found a spot on every night of our 5 night stay, which was fantastic. I'll start with the positives: Clean, somewhat newly renovated rooms, free parking, and for anyone who has traveled and stayed in downtown San Francisco, this is almost unheard of. The very limited continental breakfast is a welcome bonus. Now the negatives are: very noisy location (ambulance and fire truck sirens nearly all night long- Polk is a very busy street). We were very unfortunate to be occupying a room next to a group of people that weren't getting along that night, so we had to listen to them curse at each other throughout the night. Between the fighting next door and the sirens from emergency vehicles, we were sleepless in SFO.

I didn't expect much for the price, but the facility is immaculately clean and very convenient. The rooms are small, but actually sort of large by downtown SF standards. My only two minuses were that they would be better off not offering the continental breakfast as they didn't have a toaster or really enough room to do anything other than offer a snack and the room itself had a very strong residual perfume odor from cleaning solutions that didn't clear out during our whole stay. It wasn't a bad smell, just persistent.
