it was disgusting.i paid a lot of money to see memphis and stayed in a bad hotel.it was writing on the web that there is a wifi in the room.but no.and as we entered the room there was a wig behind the refrigirator.can you believe this?i never advice anyone to go there.pay 25$ more and go to the downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was surprised to see that the room was clean, smelled fine, and the hotel was just fine, despite the negative reviews I had read. The mattress seemed worn - it dipped in the center, but I would book a room in this hotel again if needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Internet wireless varies by room. Ask for a room that has a good signal. Ours didn't. Bath tile and room needs professional cleaning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"horrible room. horrible location"
Room has glass walls that overlook the highway. It's very noisy at night. We noticed people peeing on hotel staircase.even though we were in the hotel for just 6 hours, the experience was horrible. Lights did not work on the room and the room was smelly. Somehow had a very unsafe feeling.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was located right after I exited the highway. Easy access, easy return to highway. I couldn't get lost. Only thing--Couldn't get heater to come on and I was wet and cold. (Rm. 167 I think)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"was convenient to where I was going & the rates were good"
friendly front desk personnel, good rates, clean rooms but looked a little wornGenuine Expedia guest review
I know it was really cheap and wasn't expecting much but the room was uncomfortably dirty ie: dirt ring in bath, mucky TV screen, creased not sure were clean sheets and the air conditioning unit was falling to bits and made so much noise you couldn't have it on for long, on the plus side the coffee was greatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wow! I wish we had a motel like this in my hometown!!"
07/14/14 SamuelKing1961 Baltimore, Maryland
We stopped at Clarion first, the rooms were 100, the room we got at Econo Lodge was MUCH nicer and unbelievably inexpensive. We used our Farm Bureau discount and ended up paying $39 for the room. The place even had free breakfast, and there was no wi-fi access fee like some hotels we have been to.. The guy who checked us in, Brendan was AWESOME. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The place doesn't seem to be in the best area but we had no issues... If you're passing by, so yourself a favor and check this place out!!!!!!!!!

We stayed here because the place is right off of I40 and there is a Waffle House on the property. We got in late but check in was fast and easy. The price was cheap so we weren't expecting much. The room was surprisingly nice and clean as well. The bed was comfy and the A/C worked great. the room was also quiet. We left before breakfast so no comment there. We would stay here again if in the area.

I always enjoy staying here. The people are really friendly here and go the extra mile to help you. I have never had a bad experience staying here and I am here frequently. The rates are very reasonable as well.
"Much better than I expected @ $50"
06/24/14 grant e Virginia Beach, Virginia
In today's economy, $50 won't get you much, but we were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations for this price. This Econo Lodge had new rooms, flat-screen HD T.V.s, the Wifi was complimentary and there was also a complimentary continental breakfast, they even gave us free beer at check-in. I travel a lot and this was a first for me. I was also eligible for Choice points. This will definitely be the place we stay whenever in the Memphis area. The staff were also very nice.
"Never again at this location"

I debated for days on rather it mattered if I gave my two cents on this hotel. I read other reviews were I'm assuming management responded by saying "there was no found report" on certain complaints, & I thought well duh of course the workers wouldn't report having issues with the customers. So I figured if I read the reviews maybe I can save someone else! Until they upgrade or actually renovate as the sign out front says, and hire a better crew... DO NOT STAY HERE! Ok so we (my family & myself) checked in on my birthday May 23rd! Now this is a trip we take as a family every year. We have stayed at the Remoda Inn up the street from here & the Days Inn across the bridge several times & never a complaint. Unfortunately they didn't hv 3 rooms as we needed so this hotel did & I figured well it's not a block away from the other two hotels I'm thinking it would be ok! I mean I live in Little Rock & have stayed at a few Echno's here & they were fine! Not this one! Before we got there I called about a week ahead & asked if there would be a roll away bed available to put in one of the rooms & I was told, "yes ma'am! We have several & they are hardly used!" We get there & check in, ask for the roll away bed & we were told "we only have one & it's being used! I think those people live here now!" (Clerk is laughing as he says this) ok fine. I notice there was a small refrigerator behind the counter with beers in it so I inquired about it. The clerk says "Yeah we have free beer Monday-Thursday, people tend to like their stay here better when their drunk" That was our sign to run, BUT...We go ahead & go to our rooms 217, 219, & 229... OMG! Lights barely worked in the rooms. Out of four lamps one worked, carpet turned my white socks mud brown in about 10 minutes, had to request bedding change because the covers we dirty & bed wasn't made, two workers had a real harsh argument about who forgot to make the bed in front of us all, the air unit in 229 fell apart as soon as we turned it on, the whole front face of the unit fell off, we decided no we couldn't make use of the floor for a temp bed since the one roll away was gone & had to pay for another room, got room 129 & could believe how poorly this hotel was treating us. Got in room 129 & the TV wouldn't work! Called the front desk after fixing the cord on the room phone to tell them & the clerk says "you're going to be bored tonight!) After about 4 hours they bring another TV in & I think we were able to get about 5 channels. We went out to eat & returned to the room. Sitting on the bed I notice a trail of ants on the wall. I called them to ask them was there anything they could do & was told "no we don't have any bug spray. They cone spray the whole hotel every now & then it must be that time!" I couldn't believe this crap! Trust me we called several hotels to try to get away from here but they were all booked. We had to go to Walgreens & get cleaning supplies & bug spray just for us to try & relax! House keeping skipped two of our rooms and made it to the other two about 2:00 pm that Saturday May 24th! We had called for towels three times & were told we had to wait on housekeeping to come around. So half of us had towels & half didn't. I ended up having to go to the front office at 11:00 pm to get towels for the rest of us! This hotel seems to be where people pay to live like a motel. There were not one but two bar b Que grills right outside our room on the back side & the people using them you could tell had living quarters set up! We spent damn near $600 to stay in slums and I'm am as upset about it as can be. I was so disappointed when we saw the Echno Lodge downtown Memphis & yes I tried to talk them into switching us since we were in an Echno but they were full to! I really hope this message makes it to the right persons computer screen because this type of service & accommodations are unacceptable. This web page of this hotel is false.
"Friendly folks can't make up for horrible lodging"
05/23/14 DarrelVan Coppell, Texas
The person at the front desk checking couldn't have been more "Arkansas friendly" to assign me a room and hand me the room key. But things went downhill fast when I got the room - everything reeked of cheapness, even for Econo Lodge standards. Few lights worked, and bathroom tub and sink were just old and had built in grim that it was obvious only the most cursory cleaning had been tried. And then there was the bed . .. I can't recall a bed that was so bad. The sides were firm, but as I rolled back onto the bed, it was like falling into a pit - zero support. The mattress had to be at least 15+ years old. The hotel was close to the Interstate, but I've stayed at hotels with this nearness and hardly heard any road noise - but not at this hotel. The windows were so cheap that every little noise, whether close of 1/4 away, felt loud. The curtains lacked any sense of light blocking, so when the sun arose early, so did I. Overall, it was not worth the price no matter what they would have charged. Look on weary traveler for another hotel.

"RUN.... Just, RUN."

I travel often and have stayed in hundreds of motels and hotels. My experience in this motel was BY FAR the most horrible one I've had. When I walked into the lobby of the motel to check in, a teenage guy was at the front desk. He not only didn't greet me and my 6 year old daughter, he sat staring at us like a deer in the headlights. He turned and yelled to someone in a middle-eastern language. Another young guy came from the back office... and started to gawk at me too! I don't know how else to say it, so I will be straightforward: I am a teeny blonde with a big chest. I don't think their eyes looked at anything but my chest the entire time I was in the lobby. The check in process was long and awkward, but we got through it. Before I write what happens next, let me state that I didn't have my husband with me at check-in time. He is a semi-pro Football player and was already at the field in Memphis. Let me also explain the layout of this motel: the front half is well-lit and faces the frontage road and freeway. The back half has almost no lighting and faces a slum of abandoned townhouses where I could see homeless people and thugs roaming. On with my story. There were a few cars parked on the front side of the Motel, so I assume there were maybe 5-7 guests staying there; plenty of rooms available up front. But get this... I WAS THE ONLY PERSON PLACED IN A ROOM ON THE REAR SIDE! As I drove back to my room, I saw 3 men just standing around in the back. One was up on the top level on the walkway, one was standing on the stairs, and the last was, wait for it, RIGHT BY MY ROOM. They were the family of the teenage boys who checked me in. They didn't greet me, or even smile; every one of them sat and stared at my daughter and me unloading our luggage from the car. The one on the stairs came down and stood with his buddy who was right by my room, staring the entire time! What the...??!! I had driven 8 hours to get to West Memphis, so I quickly got into my room to try and get some sleep before my husband's game. Yeah, didn't happen. It seems like the male population of the hotel staff had nothing better to do than hang out and smoke outside my room. I was scared to death. I will now explain the room. Chunks of carpet were missing out of the floor. There was a huge burn mark in another part of it. It was littered in dust and grime from other patrons. It REEKED of urine and cigarette smoke, despite being a "Non-Smoking", "not pets allowed" room. There were water stains on the ceiling. The wallpaper was torn and peeling off. The toilet seat was a hair away from coming off. Glorious. I would have left immediately, but was too afraid to go out of my room! Keep in mind, I am a trained Police Officer, but was still scared to death of the creepy vibes these men were putting off. The time came to go to my husband's game. Luckily, the hotel staff (or the Hotel staff's family... whatever they were) had gotten bored of sitting outside my room. So, I packed up almost every belonging I'd brought in, because I didn't trust the staff to stay out of my room while i was away. Before I left, I put my cooler right in front of my door on the inside, so that if someone were to come in, they'd have to move the cooler... and I would know they'd intruded. Needless to say, upon coming back to the Motel that night, the cooler had been pushed away from the door. I about lost it. We immediately started looking for a different place to stay. EVERYTHING within a 20 mile radius had been booked (as far as Priceline hotels go). It was 2 am, we were exhausted, so we decided to stick it out and try to get some sleep. My husband slept with one eye open. Luckily, all we experienced that night was LOUD music and ghetto women fighting in the hood that stands behind the hotel. The next morning, we were awoken at 7:50 AM by a hotel staff member, wanting to come clean our room. I yelled at them to go away. They didn't two of the staff members sat outside my room and smoked and talked loudly. After 15 minutes of this, my husband got up and basically told them to go the heck away. The two men looked shocked to see that there was a man in the room. They got up and quickly went away. The last part of my review is still shrouded in mystery. As I went to pack up to leave, I found my bra and one of my daughter's shirts clumped in a corner, next to the dresser. I picked them up and found that they were wet... Upon further inspection, I realized they were covered in URINE!!! The clothing were 2 of the few items I'd left in the room when I went to my husband's game, and now they had been peed on and moved from where I left them. I have no explanation for this. I haven't peed my pants since I was 2 years old, and I can say the same for my husband and daughter. So I know none of us had an "accident" on the floor, onto our items of clothing. I called their Corporate Headquarters about the issue; a company called Choice Hotels. The woman I spoke with was totally non-chalant about the issue and offered me... wait for it.... a THIRTY DOLLAR voucher to stay in one of their hotels again. Seriously? She claimed they would get someone to investigate the hotel then they'd get back with me. It's been 9 months and I haven't heard a word. STAY AWAY from this motel.
"Excellent Price! Nice Room - Clean - Free Breakfast - Free Wifi - Helpful Staff - Will Definitely Stay Here Again!!!!"

The room was only $32.00! And included free breakfast and wi-fi access. The room was fine and there is a Waffle House in the parking lot and the casino is right across the street. I will definitely stay here next time I pass through. Microwave & Fridge in the room were nice.

I have stayed on a weekly basis due to my job and find this establishment very nice , the rooms could use up to date furnishings . but overall it a nice price and friendly environment. i asked for eating places and was told about ones that delivered to hotel. that was accommodation enough. there is a waffle house on property, but hotel has a continental breakfast.
