Our stay at Deer Harbor Resort was pleasant but not outstanding. Positives include: Friendly staff, clean room, personal hot tub on deck, lots of towels, fireplace and a nice breakfast spread in the morning. Negatives include: no pet friendly rooms, heated pool not open and the mattress was hard and lumpy.
Location.
This hotel rises along the harbor in a residential district of Victoria, 2 blocks from picturesque Fisherman's Wharf; downtown attractions such as the Royal BC Museum are within a mile.
Hotel Features.
Making the most of its maritime setting, this hotel offers harbor views from its top-notch seafood restaurant and its indoor/outdoor pool; whale-watching tours depart from the on-site marina. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas, and high-speed wired Internet access is complimentary in public areas and guestrooms. The hotel also has a fitness center and gym.

Blue Crab Bar & Grill - Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily in this multi-level restaurant overlooking the harbor. Casually elegant, the Blue Crab specializes in fresh seafood served with local ingredients. Signature entrées include oven-roasted local halibut served with Riesling-infused jasmine rice and Provençal sauce, and flame-grilled beef tenderloin. Daily feature boards offer seasonal seafood dishes and accompaniments. The restaurant has an extensive wine list. Light meals are offered in a separate lounge, also overlooking the harbor, where English-style fish and chips are a specialty.
Recreational opportunities abound at the Coast Harbourside where guests can swim in an 80-foot indoor/outdoor atrium pool overlooking the harbor. Guests also enjoy a spa tub and sauna as well as a fitness center with a strength-training machine, free weights, stairclimber, two exercise bikes, and a treadmill.
Coast Harbourside Hotel & Victoria has its own 42-slip marina, and whale-watching tours are available from Marine Adventure Tours, located on-site. Scuba enthusiasts enjoy diving Ogden Point, a half-mile away. A boardwalk running along the waterfront is suitable for walking, running, in-line skating, and cycling. Running maps are available from hotel staff.

"Great View and Sleep"
We enjoyed our 1 night stay at the hotel. Our view was awesome, We enjoyed just watching all the activity at the boats below and the sea planes coming and going. The bed was comfortable and we had a great night sleep after enjoying fish and chips at the Bar and great conversation with the personel in that area. Was very happy with my choice. Nice neighbourhood. Walkable distance to the harbour. The hotel had heated indoor/oudoor pool, hottub and sauna which where great condition and very enjoyable after a chilly rainy day. Would recommend
"Wonderful stay at the Coast Hotel in Victoria"
We stayed at various hotels while touring Vancouver and Victoria, BC, and the Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel was our favorite. We had a great view of the Inner Harbor and was walking distance to many of the sites that we wanted to visit. "A Few Glitches"
The room, promised to be harborside king or queen, was a queen. When we asked for a king because one of us had a cold and didn't want to share it, found none available. Also due to the cold, we wanted the room heated and had trouble getting it warm enough, even with help from staff. The carpet needs to be replaced (Room 510), as it was torn and stained. Excellent location. Extremely clean and helpful employees. Reminded me of a European hotel with great bedding and wonderful ammenities. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We were very happy with the staff and the hotel. We would most definately stay here again. It was a short and pleasant 10 minute walk from the Inner Harbour. We went back and forth several times during the day from hotel to city and back. Loved it.

"Great location and service"
Staff was very friendly and helpful. 1 block from Fisherman's Wharf and within walking distance of main waterfront area, museum, Empress Hotel (high tea!), Beacon Hill Park (beautiful!). You can also pick up a water taxi in front of the hotel. Nicely decorated. Very good restaurant (Blue Crab) in the hotel.
"Personal items stolen from hotel room"
The stay at the Coast Hotel in Victoria would have been nearly perfect. The staff was wonderful, kind and helpful. The service was excellent and the room was great. My camera case with my camera, car and home keys and travel documents was stolen from our hotel room the afternoon before we left, around the time our room was cleaned. The theft was not […] taken seriously by the hotel, and we had to rent a car to get home when back in the US, late at night with 2 children. It resulted in loss of work days and car rental fees, let alone the loss of the camera, keys and travel documents. "Great place to stay in Victoria!"
We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The location was great - easily within walking distance of Downtown Victoria. If we were in a rush or didn't feel like walking we just called down for the shuttle and they took us where we wanted to go within downtown. The staff was friendly and the room-service breakfast was amazing! The pool was great, the […] room was nice and clean and, even though we went with the standard room, we had a great view of the water from our balcony. "unexpected changes"
We made our reservation almost 5 month in advance on website hotels.com. We booked room with 2 double beds as we have a child. Suprisenly when we arrived ,it was event in the hotel and our room was given away. We have to stay in the room with 1 bed and coach. It was not enough space in the room.Plus on top nobody mention that we have to pay extra for […] parking per night . "Hotels.com is terrible and very rude."
I was very happy with the hotel but extremely dissasistfied with hotels.com and will not use them again. I called them as I arrived late on Victoria and thought it would be quicker than browsing for hotels myself. The operator was very rude and insisted that the only room available with two beds was here at the coast. "Coast Mountain - Victoria"
Great place at a great off season deal! very nice 15 min coastal walk to the heart of Victoria. Especially like the water view of the planes and boats coming into harbor. Very helpful staff, only complaint is they have yet to install wifi throughout the hotel.

I looked at quite a few hotels before booking this one, and am pleased that I chose it. The location wasn't the most convenient of the hotels, but it is a pleasant walk for two or three blocks in predominantly residential area before arriving at the ferry terminal. Enjoyed the stay tremendously. Decent pool (indoor/outdoor) and hot tub with great hours (open early and late). Small but functional exercise room with same hours. Felt very secure here. Location was just outside of the downtown core on the inner harbour. "Great view, food, marina and great service."
We came up to Victoria for a New Year's Eve getaway. Room was great. Beautiful Harbor view. Hotel staff were great, no attittudes. Not only close to downtown but also fisherman's terminal. Hotel shuttle drove us everywhere we asked locally so we didn't have to wait for a cab. Pool and hot tub were great. The resturant downstairs has high class food […] and the best waterfront view in the city we could find. If you're a boater, attached marina is excellent. It has a clean low-dock with power and water. Victoria harbor is quite sheltered; it was glass the whole time we were there even with 30-40mph winds out in the bay. No wake zone from harbor entrance means no sea place noise or ferry chop. Marina space can be limited so be sure to reserve a slip well before your trip. Also highly recommend dinner at Nautical Nellies, followed by pub crawling up Government Street with particular stops at historical bars like 'The Bard and Banker' (head north from there). Read more

"Good stay, good location"
We took advantage of a special rate so I would say that we got a great room in a good location for a comparatively very reasonable price.
