Stayed here during a snow storm. Heater in room barely worked. Terrible parking lot and couldn't pull our truck around, ended up in a ditch and needed two tow trucks to get out. Breakfast was unedible. Stale bagels and fermented apple juice. Staff very nice.

Clean, but very dated. Sheets, pillow and pillow cases very old, bed hard. Recliner in room had stain in cloth where someone's greasy head had been laying. Breakfast very limited and person blowing and wiping nose in front of food. That made us go next door to Hardees

The room was comfortable and clean, the fridge was nice. The bathroom was clean but it looked rather shabby. We had to laugh when we saw the VCR below the television. The area is ok, the hotel is set back by itself and there are some low rent apartments back behind it. The foot traffic from the apartments to the nearest gas station was a little interesting […] at times. Don't get me wrong, we had absolutely no problems with anyone. The pool was clean. Breakfast was nice. The second floor smelled of smoke and when traveling with children that is unacceptable. There were stains on the bed comforter. For the seeming lack of staff, the rooms appeared to have been cleaned and the bathroom was decent.

I was very disappointed in this hotel. It was dirty, and I killed a roach in the bathroom. Although signs everywhere indicated this to be a smokefree facility, the smell of cigarette smoke was very strong and permeated the lobby, hallways, and the room we stayed in. I would not recommend this hotel for even a one night stay.

The hallways smell of cigarette smoke so if you're easily bothered by that then this will be a bad experience right away. Cleanliness was very good in my second floor room. Keep in mind it is a budget motel, so it is old with poor remodeling, has scratchy towels, a very small continental breakfast. Just like the name: "Best Value" for Effingham motel. The room was clean, comfortable. Internet connection was fine. Staff was friendly. There is no additional fee for 3rd person.

My stay at this hotel was fine. Front desk people were friendly and even accomodated a special request. Indoor pool was small but clean and relaxing. Hotel room was nice and quiet. Listing should clarify which exit this is off the interstate (159). It was decent for the price, and it was quiet and safe and the beds were fine. But not particularly clean, I smelled cigs in the night even though we had a non-smoking room, the pool area was too cold to use in winter.
