While this is not a luxury hotel, relative to the area and other offerings, it's a safe bet. Great location, decent breakfast included, and clean. The common areas are small but nice, and the hotel rooms need updating. At least they are clean, and safe, which is all we were looking for in the heart of Ipanema.

This was the second stay at Hotel Praia Ipanema. The first time it was great. The second time we had a bad room, small poorly kept, not as nice as the first one. The hotel is well run and well located if you want to be at the beach and surrounding areas.

No hot water, towels very Old and over used, robes ripped, elevator not working 3 out of 7 days, construction going on at the Bar, at the upstairs lounge and the HoteL has no lounge, No CNN, no local papers in English and balcony door to room had to be repaired to lack. Some at the front desk where helpfull.

I pretty beautiful hotel I just have never been to a hotel where the only worker at the hotel that even just even smiled at us was 1 bellman that I had given a large tip to. Everyone was so un helpful so NOT friendly I work for Hilton hotels corp and if any one of my employees acted like that way it would not be allowed. which is really too bad because […] the hotel was nice and the location was perfect! Even the Internet lady after I even asked her to smile smirked at me and stuck her nose up. I don't expect much but a simple little smile would have gone a long way at this hotel! Ok I thought of one other employee that did their job that was the man that checked us in and the lady that checks our room number before the breakfast. A very expensive hotel for what is really little better than a travelodge, the location is great and the rooftop swimming pool and bar are really good it's a shame that basic things like the air con not working when it's 32c during the day and 26c at night , the rooms are very basic bedlinen has seen better days and should a hotel with 16 floors really […] only have 1 out of 3 lifts working! Rio is just like London or New York - You'll pay 5 star prices for a 3-4 star hotel. Once you get past the price you have to pay to stay in Rio then the hotel seems like any other hotel. Great location - everything is within walking distance. We stayed in a beach front room which has a small balcony but great views. The room was clean and serviced daily. […] Breakfast features a limited selection of hot food (eggs, bacon, sausage) and a larger array of pastry, fruit and cheese/ham. You have to pay to use the Wi Fi (approx AU$12 for 24 hours) or you can pay by the minute.The staff were fine (some more friendly than others) It's the only hotel we have stayed in that has Havianas for sale in the mini bar. Nice hotel in great location. I was on the second floor and there was a lot of road noice through the single-glazed windows. Almost made sleep impossible and the air conditioning was also noisy so sleep was hard. The door to the balcony did not lock. If staying here ask for a room on the higher floors to avoid the road noise and get a better view.

The hotel was confortable and the service was ok but I travel around the world and unfortunaly some services were missing to hold the stars. Variety of the food on the morning buffet, free access to bike, the pool and the terasse being closed for renovation.

Gostamos, o quarto poderia ser renovado, principalmente esquadrias e banheiros. O serviço foi muito atencioso, não gostamos da entrada da praia, sempre cheia e o espaço é minúsculo. Ótima opçao em Ipanema, localizaçao, piscina e visual da cobertura nota 10. Café da manha tbem é bom. Os funcionarios sao bem atenciosos. Para ser nota 10 geral precisa resolver a acustica dos aptos pois as janelas nao vedam bem o som do transito. Dq qq forma esta super recomendado!

Did not get disturbed by traffic, the rooms higher up don't have that problem, and hey, why stay on the beach front anyway if you are looking for peace and quiet.... Had a small incident with the first room, but management changed it instantly, really good and attentive service. When I was staying there one of the elevators was out of order which was […] rather inconvenient, but I felt that the staff went out of their way to compensate that. Also enjoyed the breakfast which I found to be very good in comparison to other Brazilian hotels of the same standard. Todo diez puntos, tuvimos la suerte de elegir este excelente hotel sin conocer Río de antemano. La ubicación, en Ipanema y a un paso de Leblón, es inmejorable. La vista al mar desde la habitación es una cosa increíble, es como estar directamente en la playa. El baño muy bueno, el aire acondicionado impecable, el desayuno súper completo en un lugar con […] vista al mar. El personal del hotel muy atento, salvo un par de personas del front desk, que no fueron maleducados pero podrían ponerle un poco más de amabilidad a la atención al turista, una sonrisa hace toda la diferencia. Os funcionários são gentis e atenciosos, os quartos são espaçosos mas acho que a limpesa deixa a desejar. Achei exorbitante os valores cobrados pelas bebidas (água, refri,cerveja e drinks), tenho hábito de viajar pelo mundo e no Brasil, geralmente me hospedo em hotéis 4/5 estrelas e nunca vi nenhum deles cobrarem preços tão altos!! A estadia foi muito boa! O check-in e check-out foram feitos em tempo muito agradável. O quarto era grande, limpo e bonito...e a localização do hotel...em frente à praia de Ipanema, divisa com a praia do Leblon e a algumas quadras da Lagoa...ótima localização. Perto de tudo, que se pode fazer as coisas a pé. Recomendo!
