"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

"So-So"
The motel was ok. They are upgrading the rooms and my room smelled of paint and whoever did the painting and clean up should have done a better job. There was paint on the bath tub and a glass door that should have been cleaned up. The TV also had a problem that I told them about and was not fixed. None of the ice machines in the place worked. The internet […] was very slow and could not get on sometimes. Read more
"Old Room vs New Room"
They put me in an old room the first night that had a bed harder than the floor and the mattress was dipped in the middle. Very bad, woke up with neck and back ache. Complained about room since I was there for 3 nights so they moved me to a new room which was great. Wonder why I wasn't in this room in the first place?

"never staying here again"
I will never stay at this hotel again. First off when we arrived to check in we were told it was going to be another half hour before our room was ready. We were fine with that, just went across the street to wendys. We come back and are told its another half hour wait. Then 3 different groups came in and got their rooms right away. When I went up to […] the desk and asked why they got rooms and we didn't they said they had reservations. I did too. Made them two weeks prior. So after 15 minutes of that we finally got to our room to find out that our tv didn't work. Went down to the front desk before heading into new York and they said we must be hitting the wrong button or holding it in to long. Fine. So we get back to our room later that night and the tv still doesn't work. They offered us a room upgrade we checked out the new one before switching and immediately got hit with the smell of smoke upon.opening the door. I'm allergic to smoke so that was no good and they couldn't offer any other room that was non smoking. So we kept our broken tv room. 5 minutes before leaving to check out the next day maintenance calls to check on the tv. I guess better.late then never. But don't you think that should be checked when the room gets cleaned? Over all we were not happy with the service of the front desk and will never stay at that hotel again. That's what you get if you wanna pay cheaper rates. Next time ill put a little more money in it for better quality. Read more
a lots of noisethe carpet very durty the sheets they dont look like they been washed we could not sleep all night the mattres not confy at all.i love the location but too bad that they dont tacke care of the hotel some of the lights not working and it seemes to me that no one care, and if the managment do some thing about it may help a little.
"Red Roof Secaucus"
The location is not too bad, as you can see Metlife Stadium from one side and the Empire State Building from the other, but getting to the bus stop that goes to Manhattan is an adventure as there are no sidewalks on a dark four lane rd. The room was updated, however, the toilet was of poor function, and even though the information provided stated they […] had cribs, the staff looked at us funny when we asked for one. One caution if you have children, the tap water is extremely hot. Read more
"disappointed"
Not only will I never stay at another Red Roof Inn, i will not recommend this Inn,or any other branch, to anyone.
"Next-door hotel should be a better choice"
You can tell the hotel is quite worn, with a small lobby. The room is very basic and not very spacious. If you can afford a little bit higher rate, the suite next door should be a better choice.
"It is a MOTEL - we had a scary night"
I did not know it was a motel until i arrived. If i knew i wouldnt have reserved in it. The doors open to the outside like an appartment (motel). We did not mind at first but we regreted it after what happened at 2 AM : we were asleep me and my wife and were awaken by knocking on the door and sombody pushing on the door lever handle trying to open it. […] I looked from the window and saw a young girl standing in the cold wearing only light clothes, she looked erratic (drunk im sure) and then she started knocking on the door of the room in front, some guy opened snd she entered without even looking at him. I thought he was a pyscho , we thought they were gonna come back etc etc My wife was so scared i had to call the front desk and he told me he was gonna send security to check. Nobody went in there room and i guess he called them because the light in there room suddenly turned on. The guy then got out and went to get a bottle of water. We survived that night. Conclusion : For a 100 $ a night i cant recommand this MOTEL because you can get a proper hotel for that amount a bit further. Maybe we are, me and my wife, very wimpy because of all the hollywood movies we watched where people get butchered by psychos in motels. Read more

"CONVENIENCE TO NYC"
IT IS PROBABLY JUST AS CHEAP TO STAY ON MANHATTAN. THIS HOTELS IS OK, BUT AVERAGE. THE HOTELS ON MANHATTAN ARE MAYBE $50 MORE, BUT TO STAY HERE, YOU NEED TO PAY ABOUT $20 IN PARKING AND A TRAIN RIDE ROUND TRIP OF $8 PER PERSON. SO 2 PEOPLE AND ONE CAR IS JUST AS EXPENSIVE TO STAY IN NYC, NOT TO MENTION IT SAVES AN HOUR IN THE MORNING AND AN HOUR AT […] NIGHT, PER PERSON. Read more

"BEST OPTION OUTSIDE MANHATTAN NEW JERSEY RULES!"
I choose this hotel because of the price and I was expecting little less. In fact is excelent place if you come to NYC as a tourist and just use the hotel for sleep, Bus stops are 2 block away from the hotel, and they come every 1 hour, so be advise with bus schedule so you don't miss the bus. in 15 - 20 minutes you will be in Port Authority Bus terminal […] in the 42nd st. next to time square and you can take the subway anywhere you want. Accept pets, no charge. Good grassy walking area for dogs with many waste receptacles for doggy poop bags.
"Perfect location to Giants Stadium"
I will say this...... although the Direct TV service was out and no TV, the location to the football stadium and value paid was excellent and made up for it.
Smell of Room was horrible, mattresses were dirty! TV didnt work other than the 1st night we were there!

"Red roof hotel/ cleanliness concern but easy to NY"
We stayed 5 nights at this hotel. Overall of this hotel were good, location- easy access to NYC via ferry, friendliness and helpful of front desk, room quality. Only thing that we are not happy is the cleanliness in the room, bed/bed sheet especially. My sister and I got bitten from animal while sleeping at night. We noticed on the 2nd/ 3rd night of […] our stay that after we woke up, there were red dots on our skin. We are not sure how often they change the bed sheet/cover. So this hotel is almost good. "Stay across the street at the Meadowlands Plaza"
I was staying across the street at the Meadowlands Plaza and then spent more money to spend the night at this location. Rooms were not cleaned. Had no clean towels and couldn't get a hold of anyone. I highly recommend staying across the street at the Meadowlands Plaza if you are looking for a good priced place in Secacaus.
"NJ Red Roof Inn on bus line to NYC"
This place is okay for travelers on a tight budget. Clean enough place to crash for the night, but not much else. Our room had a king sized bed but only one wash, one hand towel, and exactly one helping of shampoo. Oh yeah, and an iron with an 18 inch cord. The express bus to NYC comes by the hotel on weekday mornings and evenings-- but not so close […] on the weekends. Be sure to get detailed instructions on what bus stops to use on the weekends. The bus is NJ Transit #129. It's the same bus number on weekdays and weekends but different route and schedule. Read more

"red roof secaucus, excellent value"
First and foremost I have to compliment the hotel staff for being very helpful and friendly, you couldn't ask for a nicer front desk. We went into Manhattan a couple of times and it was an easy 15min commute to & from the hotel as long as the traffic cooperated, (avoid rush hrs going into the city). The 129 city bus drops off right in front of the hotel, […] but you have to walk down the street about 2 blocks to ride into Manhattan port authority bus terminal. Then after a stressful day in new york city there was a real peaceful dock and gazebo to sit at right on the hotels property to watch the boats on the harbor. The rooms were simple, but nice and clean and probably the best value you could find that close to midtown Manhattan. Read more
"Red Roof Inn Meadowlands NYC - worth the trip"
over all i really enjoyed my stay at the Red Roof in this past weekend. The hotel was very clean and inviting. The best part of this hotel was its location because it was right down the street from the IZOD center where the concert was that I was attending.
"Good Value"
No frills. Clean room. Cold Air. By the water. Beautiful scenery. 5 mins cab ride to Meadowlands Complex.

"great service and convenient to nyc"
This hotel is recently under new management who is bending over backwards to make sure the customers are happy. They are very pleasant and willing to accommodate you. The hotel is convenient to NYC and takes about 20 minutes by bus. Since it was Sat., we caught a bus about 2 blocks away. This was our first time at Port Authority and had a little trouble […] finding where to catch the bus back, but just ask the bus driver before you get off. I would recommend this inexpensive and very satisfactory hotel. Read more

"Red Roof Inn in Secaucus NJ"
Convenient and cost effective for travelers to Manhattan. Bus 129 will bring you from the Port Authority in Manhattan in about 20 minutes. The stop is at the Extended Stay Hotel. There is only a Wendy's, Dunking Donuts, Subway and an Italian restaurants within walking distance. The condition of the room is average, the carpet is dark green and does […] not look clean. "red roof close to meadowlands"
The hotel is O.K. We left a note and GOOD tip asking for extra towels, they were not left for us. We left a note the second day no tip and still not left. "It will do"
Convenient to the 129 line (bus) that takes you right into the city, which is where we wanted to spend most of our money, as opposed to a place to sleep. It was a decent enough place to crash.
"Just trying to get to New york"
The young man that helped us upon arrival was very pleasant. He was helpful in trying to locate a non smoking room, which we requested but was not available when we arrived. I can not believe that in 2011 there are still SMOKING rooms. The rooms are aging and the bathroom could use remodeling. All-in-all, it is the Red Roof Inn, sooooo----...... "Red Roof Inn, Secaucus, NJ- great location &rates!"
Hotel is very convenient to NYC area and has a bargain price for an adequate place to sleep while visiting in the city. The description of the facilities included "complimentary wireless internet," but it was not working. Room was clean enough on arrival, but wasn't vacuumed again during our three night stay.
"A Pleasant Surprise"
My experience was just fine. I found the staff to be friendly, and the room to be clean and well maintained. Close to public transportation to NYC and Newark. A Wendy's and Dunkin' Donuts right across the street, and a deli down the street. I'd go back.
"Red Roof Inn at the Meadowlands, Secaucus, NJ"
The worst experience we have ever had. We got there at 9 at night and checked in at the dirty dingy smelly office. He gave us the key to the room, went up the filthy elevator that had something putrid spilled and found our room with no linens on the bed, and the bedspread thrown on the dresser. The room smelled like urine. We left and told the clerk […] what happened and was answered with a shrug. He didn't offer to give us another room or fix that one. So we left. Read more

"Comfortable stay!!!"
Room was nice..If anybody wants to travel to NYC ..take a bus 129 (NJ transit). Only problem , you have to walk 0.4 miles from hotel to bus stop located opposite to Crowne Plaza hotel. There are proper restaurants nearby apart from Wendy's, Coffee shop etc.....Rates are reasonable.
