Nice little hotel in heart of soho. Very clean, if small/sparse, rooms that were quiet and comfortable. No gym was a bit of a bummer but otherwise very convenient for a business trip.

So the Single occupancy rooms are small, but that was only real complaint. That said, the size is comparable to most other European or big city hotels of the same price. As for location, I was well and truly pleased with that.

The Rathbone was overall an excellent choice. Some notes of concern: The room is small, but manageable. The hotel staff aren't particularly attentive, but they do what they need to. When we were there, internet access cost an exorbitant amount of money. We used free internet at a nearby cafe. Also, the hotel is in a great location if you are interested […] in nightlife or just want convenient access to public transportation. However, there isn't much else in that area, especially after the end of the business day. That being said, the bed in this hotel room was the most comfortable of a two week tour all around Ireland, England and France. It was firm, but gave just the right amount. The pillows were miraculously comfortable for both me (i want the flattest, smoosh-iest pillow possible) and my husband (who uses a foam tempurpedic at home). We both slept ridiculously well. It was an ideal hotel for having breakfast in the morning, hopping on the Underground and arriving back in the evening to catch some zzz's. Read more

Just got back from a business trip across Europe... and I must say that most of the hotels we stayed in were somewhat dissappointing. But maybe that is because we're so spoiled in the States? The RATHBONE could not have been in a more awesome location! The neighbourhood is very cute with lots of great restaurants. Specifically the Japanese restaurant […] on the corner (AMAZING)! However, the hotel is in need of a facelift. The furnishings are quite old and a bit tattered. Especially in my room. The carpet and furnishings were stained, scratched and border line falling apart. very convenient and accessible. staff was very customer service focused. great location in central london (about 45 minutes from Heathrow/LHR). only major drawback was internet. hotel is wired for wireless, but there is a surcharge of 15 UK pounds/24 hours.

My single room was square and cozy with a sizable bathroom. The single room my friend got was L-shaped and less conveniently arranged. We were happy to the hotel's discount card at one of the Charlotte Street restaurants. TV was smaller than one usually sees these days, but adequate.

The hotel itself was great, near to multiple underground stations, the British Museum, Hyde Park, and a bunch of restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the quality of the room was what I would expect. When we got to the hotel the name that my hotel was booked under was wrong. I don't know if this was Expedia or the hotel, but it caused […] some confusion and it took a while to get checked in, since I didn't have a way to get my reservation number. I knew from reviews posted on-line that rooms at the Rathbone were small, but I never guessed just how small a room could be! Miniscule would be a better descriptor. I had a single room which I could barely turn around in, and I'm a small person! There was just enough room for a twin bed and a luggage rack on one side of the room and a desk & wardrobe […] on the other, which left approximately 2 feet of space between them. The bathroom was so tiny that it was actually difficult getting in & out of the shower. For the average price per night, which I felt was unjustified, I felt squeezed physically & financially!! If I had known just how tiny the rooms were I would have stayed elsewhere. That said, the Rathbone was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is the quietest hotel I've stayed in in London, and I work here frequently. It is tucked away between the Tottenham Court Rd. and Goodge St. underground stations and is surrounded, literally, by excellent restaurants and pubs. The two underground stations are, respectively, a three and four block walk, but the 18 restaurants in between, make it […] worthwhile. It is also less than a 10 minute walk to Oxford Circus, the British Museum and Charing Cross. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the hotel is fairly old but very clean and charming.
