The location is lovely but the hotel needs a bit of renovation. The room itself was nice and comfy even if a bit shabby. The bathroom was from the 1950 and the shower was a dribble! And when there is no mini-bar in the room, I find it strange that the bar of the hotel closes at 11:00 on a Friday evening????

This hotel is conveniently located near Venice Beach in a fairly quite street. The room was clean tidy and large with coffee amenities and bottled water available (complementary). Also the breakfast was quite rich for such a small hotel and was simply excellent (loved those bagels). Only complain I can think of were that the balcony door would not lock and was not fixed after we made our complain.
Location.
Conveniently near the airport in Manhattan Beach's Beach Cities neighborhood, Crimson Hotel is close to Manhattan Beach Pier, South Bay Galleria, and Redondo Beach Pier. Additional regional attractions include Venice Beach and Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Hotel Features.
Crimson Hotel has an outdoor pool, a spa tub, and a sauna. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. A complimentary breakfast is available. Older hotel, but well kept. Lower level parking was convenient with elevator nearby. Heated pool and hot tub. Our lighting problem in room was quickly addressed. Beach is not within walking distance, but a quick 5 minute drive gets you to the pier. We would stay there again.

I stayed there for a last minute business trip and was totally satisfied. Staff is really friendly and the rooms are great considering the price range.

"could have been a 4 instead of 3 rating"
The room was clean & had everthing I needed...just a couple things it is outdated & when I turned the shower on ants came out...eeek. Front desk nice.
"Smell and Ants"
The entire room smelled like man's cologne and smoke. All of my clothes acquired the smell as well. It was TERRIBLE. There were ants in the bathtub. The fluorescent lighting in the bathroom was terrible.

The hotel was covenient and it was quiet and easy to rest.
This is a nice hotel. My two major issues are, when I first entered the room and used the restroom I discovered the toilet was broken. Called the front office. They sent maintenance immediately who fixed the issue. ( resolved) the second issue was the ants, tons of ants. We had no food what so ever bug tons of ants. "Hard Bed and pillows"
I thought the hotel and service was great,the only thing I didn't like was that the king size bed was to hard and the pillows was also hard.............The girl who works the front desk (Sarah)is great at her job..........Would come back again.......... Rickey

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The manager was very helpful. The only problem I had was with the locks on the door. I had difficultly three times getting in the room and one time getting out.

Terrible experience- Room conditions were the worst i have seen in years of travel. Many cigarette burns thru comforter and worn and thin blankets. Heater is a wall unit that was right next to bed, old and loud. Microwave was broken, big holes in wall above one of beds with a picture missing. Elevator was broken for most of my stay and seniors had to […] walk down stairs. I carried one woman who could not manage. Room smelled of old cigarette smoke and some of the pillows looked like the pillowcases were not changed. I was disgusted and frustrated as it felt very dirty and loud - not a pleasant stay at all. All people in my room froze during night due to insufficient bedding and thin, worn blankets- we were all glad to leave. Continental breakfast included a bowl of bananas as the only healthy item and fruit offered. Otherwise it was waffles, sugar cereals, croissants (old, my Mom put it back after trying one) and danishes. We went out to breakfast instead. Never again! Read more
"Manhattan Beach hotel"
Nice spot, very friendly people. We didn't like our first room and they accommodated us with a better room. A delicious Thai restaurant and great wine shop across the street. A nice walk (1 mile) to the beach.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. The pool area was pleasant. Breakfast was adequate. Good value for the money overall - I would stay there again..

"Great place"
My wife lives in Manhattan Beach and has work there but has her home rented for several months. We had recently stayed at another similar hotel just across the street and for about the same cost but the room at the Comfort inn was much nicer. Large, clean, very comfortable. Easily a suite without the door. Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful […] and friendly. I'll definitely be staying again on our next trip south. Read more

"An OK place to stay"
This was not the best hotel that I have stayed in, but by far not the worst. The shower left a little to be desired, it was dirty.
