I was pleasantly surprised about this hotel. I got a room & car deal from Expedia and picked from the lowest priced deals. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Anchorage and this is one I would go back to in a heartbeat. It was close to the airport but I rarely heard air traffic (it may be different in the summer when the Lake Hood seaplane base is operational). […] It was close to the airport road, but I didn't hear any road traffic. The crowd that checked in when I did looked a little rough, but were tucked away in another part of the hotel. The room was clean and nice and the housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. The gentleman who was at the front desk was extremely pleasant and friendly although the phone was ringing off the hook and the place was starting to get busy. This may not be the best place to stay with a family (no pool and a rough crowd in the bar), but not every place needs to cater to families. I will probably stay here again. Read more

It was strictly a place to sleep for a few hours, late arrival, early departure kind of trip. Very adequate for that. Very convenient to the airport with long-term parking available at the hotel.

I chose this hotel because I had a single night layover in Anchorage before heading out to Kodiak. I got everything I wanted. Very close (5 minutes) to ANC with free shuttles running every 15 minutes. Complimentary cold storage which is very handy for us with fish boxes! I was not very impressed with the stay overall. It was very close to the airport but for what I paid, I was expecting a more quality stay. The hotel doesn't even have an elevator so after a long day of travel and layovers at airports, dragging luggage up the stairs was not the last thing I wanted to do for the day.

Not so good! I arrived at 11:30 pm and there was no functioning elevator, so after a day of traveling, I had to schlep my 50lb suitcase up a huge staircase. No help was offered by any staff. The hallways were littered with pizza boxes, beer bottles, and trash everywhere. The room was clean, but very outdated.

When arriving we noticed that the shower head was missing on the shower. We asked it to be fixed about 2pm. When we returned at 9pm from being out, it still was not fixed. It took another request to finally get it done. The smell of smoke was evident in the room. The carpet had debris on it. Overall it just didn't feel clean. I had a great experience with this hotel. I was concerned about my arrival time. It was about 10pm when I was able to get my bags but there was not a problem at all with the shuttle service. The whole hotel smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The carpets look dirty and worn. The room furniture looked spare. Not the best quality. There are no elevators at this hotel which for me was hard because I had heavy luggage. I did get some help. I guess they reserve the lower rooms for those who are handicapped. Finding the hotel took some patience but once we were there we were very satisfied. The front desk person was helpful and the room had everything we needed. It was almost too easy to return our rental car from there. We will stay there next time we visit Anchorage.

This hotel is literally 5 minutes from the airport, so location was very handy for us to return our rental car and catch our plane. The hotel needs a facelift... carpets looked worn and hallways smelled a bit smoky BUT our room smelled totally clean (not smoky). Restaurant onsite was decent and service was friendly.

I only stayed at this hotel one night. With a late flight from Denver I was looking for a quick cab ride and had selected the Coast International for it's location and price. The staff was very friendly on check in and we had our room key very quickly. The walk down the hall revealed stained carpeting and squeaking floors. The hall smelled of tobacco […] smoke. The room was not much better. Though the sheets were laundered, the mattress and sheets were stained, and there was no mattress pad under the sheet. The pillows were flat and the pillow cases worn thin. Again there was also a musty, smoky smell to the room even though it was a non smoking room. The staff was nice but the hotel needs some TLC.
