This is an old inn - almost 300 years to be exact - so don't expect anything fancy. Having said that, this is the best place to stay in Concord. Centrally located with everything in walking distance. I stay three nights at The Colonial Inn in rm 303 which overlooked a beautiful church on a side street. Because the Inn is an hustoric structure, I was pleasantly surprised at the uodated rooms! The room seems to have been newly remodeled with a very comfortable bed with nice linens & a modern, clean and well-apponited bathroom! I enjoyed a wonderful […] & peaceful stay, all the staff surpassed my expectations and the restaurant served delicious meals. An added bonus was enjoying a glass of wine on the porch cafe overlooking the town square. Although there's plenty of activity and some regular traffic outside the Inn, it never dusrupted my rest or peaceful enjoyment. Plenty of great shops & antique stores to meander through in addition to an art gallery and a walking tour of Concord. I hope to return for another wonderful experience at The Colonial Inn! My wife and I decided to getaway for the weekend and the Colonial Inn was one fo our destinations. Although the Inn was showing its age (thin walls, a tad bit of musty smell), nevertheless the stay was quite plesent.

I am a local, but wanted to break from the busy city, so I booked a night at the Colonial Inn. What a lovely place! Great location, yummy food, and (the best of all) there was a fun jazz band playing in the tucked away bar. So fun! Highly recommend the Colonial Inn.

I grew up in this town and never stayed at the historic Colonial Inn. We had a very comfortable room and right in downtown Concord. Monument Street and Lowell Road are right next to the inn but we didn't hear a lot of "road" noise that you hear when you are close to a highway. This is a traditional New England hostelry, dead center in the lovely town of Concord (convenient to Boston by train). The best features of the hotel are its charming public spaces and its comfortable (and surprisingly lively) tavern. The worst features are the room, bed and bath sizes. The "double bed" is hardly big enough for two adolescent children, […] let alone two normal size adults. I can honestly say that mine was probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in within the US, and definitely had the smallest bathroom (really a shower room as there was no bath). I know this place is old and there were probably some architectural challenges, but folks should be aware of what to expect. There were a few unnecessary annoyances: a breakfast credit that was differently applied each of the three mornings I was there during Thanksgiving weekend. Worst of all was Friday, when I was brusquely informed that breakfast was over at 8am(!), then shepherded to another dining room where the credit wasn't accepted. What is the point of even offering such an elusive "benefit" that only serves to irritate the guests? (Believe me, the complaints were flying fast and furious). Dinner was so-so:expensive with glacial service. It would have been nice to see a real flame in a candle or fireplace somewhere. Still, the tavern (real fire!) was great--some codgers my age playing some serious rock n roll. Sort of a live Cialis commercial! Though maybe not so fun for the sleeping guests nearby. Read more

This was a chance and we were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Concord Colonial Inn. The building is lovely with all the historical decor. The location is superb within walking distance to everything. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms nicely updated.

The only thing I can not recommend is the paying the extra 10 dollars for the breakfast. All they had was toast, cereal, milk and juice. No hot food. For 10 dollars I was expecting at least powdered eggs, bacon and a biscuit. Save the 10 dollars and go to somewhere else. Other than that, it is a beautiful hotel. The evening meal was spectacular.

It is an old hotel and therefore I wasn't expecting the Ritz. I can say, however, if you see this hotel for what it is (an hotel rich in history) you will be pleased. Try the scallops with the pomegranate beet puree, they were fantastic.

Really, the service and staff are outstanding, and the Inn is as nearly spotless as humanly possible. The neighborhood isn't one I would choose, assuming I could afford it. The Colonial Inn was a very pleasant surprise. Conveniently located on the central square of the town, it allowed quick and easy access to all of the museum and historical sites we wanted to visit. The staff was cordial and professional, and the rooms were cool, clean and comfortable, despite the heat and humidity of our August visit.

Pleasant surprise! Built in 1716, the Colonial Inn exceeded our expectations. The hotel is very well kept. The room was immaculate. The city of Concord has a wealth of historical monuments and landmarks. If you're a bicycle rider, you'll be in paradise. Highly recommended for any type of traveler. You'll want to bring your camera during your visit.
