We were very pleased with our experience in spite of rainy weather. We were particularly impressed with the staff who were uniformly pleasant and professional. We will be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice place but everything there cost money. Using the gym 10 bucks, playing tennis 5 bucks. For the price of the rooms that type stuff should be free.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel but skip the expensive spa services."
we had a wonderful 4 days at this hotel. Note that it is a bit remote from town and there are not a lot of food choices at the hotel itself although they do have food available 24X7. But there is a free shuttle that goes back and forth into the town of Coronado that takes about 10 minutes each way. Everyone who works there is very helpful. The rooms […] are large (ask for one with the Japanese soaking tub) and very clean. The pool area is lovely and very comfortable. The only complaint I have is that the spa isn't really much of a spa. The services were average and very expensive. The less expensive (like yoga classes) or free spa amenities were much better. I would definitely stay there again. My husband and I live in San Diego and just went for one night to celebrate my birthday. The staff was wonderful. They upgraded us to a beautiful suite. Everything exceeded our expectations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
overall was great, but was annoying for the nitpicking of pricing they tacked on... $ to parking/day, $ gym fee (which was subpar at best). we rented bikes for the day, however the quality of the bikes were mediocre. I'd expect this from a basic hotel near the beach, but not from Loews. Staff service was great and the location along the water was beautiful... I never leave reviews but I had to for this hotel. We only had one night but it was beautiful and they accommodated every request. We checked in at Noon (3 hours early) and checked out at 3pm (3 hours late) for no additional fee. It allowed us to enjoy the resort and sun for what seemed like 2 days. Thank you!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
service and room were excellent! Food was terrible in The Market restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

As always Fantastic Service !!! Beautiful room which over the weekend with a convention in the resort was quiet !! I was visiting for a family emergency and was well rested. Great to have my morning coffee and to go breakfast ready with one call to the little shop and done . Thank you !!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great accommodations, staff was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
Who charges for wifi now a days? The luxury Loews resort and spa does. In addition this place also charges for parking ($25) per day, $8 per water bottle and $10 snacks that are place in your room. I reserved the grand king which is discribed as having a separate sitting area, which wasn't the case. I'm just glad we were allowed to check out a day earlier […] without a cancelation fee. Didn't realize this place was a money trap till I got there! The Refridgerator was stocked full of Beer, Shots of Liquor, Wine, Juice, Coke....But if you drink one can of Coke, it's a $4.00 charge. One can of domestic Beer $6.00, a 10oz. bottle of juice $4.00. Parking was $25.00 a day, when I called and complained, they reduced it to $15.00. Connecting […] to the Wireless Internet was $13.00 a day & one trip into the Exercise Room, $10.00. I wasn't ready for that, nor expecting that. On the positive side, the Place was beautiful & well maintained. And the view across the Bay, was one of the best in all San Diego. "View of the bay"
Overall, had a great stay. Enjoyed our balcony view of the bay watching all types of boating cruising along in front of us. Only issues, were $25 a day parking and the high priced stock drawer and refrigerator of snacks and drinks. "Barking dog and parking fee!"
It's an isolated hotel and they charge 25.00 to self park-I guess they need to pay staff to man the gate. But really, you don't need anyone to man the hotel entrance. At night, the hotel is very quiet except I there was a barking dog that would not stop barking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A great dog friendly resort"
Excellent location, great service, friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They failed to mention that there was a 25$/day parking fee until I was checking out...rooms are outdated and our room had all kinds of problems whether it was the broken tv or the toilet that didn't flush, it just wasn't enjoyable. Mostly we were disappointed because it was our honeymoon!! I'll never I back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was a little disappointed with the hotel. We upgraded rooms and I didn't notice a difference in the room. The in room drinks were outrageously priced. The hotel was out dated as well. The staff was friendly and helped us out with a few things. No problem with the staff just the hotel. Beautiful view.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Enjoyed Our Stay"
Enjoyed the experience and the staff here at the Lowes. Room was nice with partial bay view, colors and décor are nice in the rooms. Very comfortable and enjoyed the private tunnel to the beach. Nice to know Lowe's is dog friendly although we did not bring ours. Food is good here although the full menu was not available the night we ate at the Mistro. […] Breakfast was excellent (we ordered off the menu) and the buffet looked good, too, but a little pricey for breakfast. Parking was convenient as you park under your room's building (and you pay for that daily). Internet is free in the lobby area but not in the rooms so you have to pay extra for that : ( Lots to go look at and it's easy to get to anywhere in Coronado and go over the bridge to visit the Gas Lamp District within a short amount of time. 1 maid service complaint is that we had a towel that was stained so it was set aside and we used a different one. All things considered, we will come back another time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Loved our stay at the Loews hotel. . . beautiful harbor view. Just beware of the overpriced food and drink items at the Market To Go restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stayed here because I ran the Silver Strand"
Our stay was nice, would have liked a refrigerator in our room instead of the mini bar. Not very practical with kids. Also thought the room service breakfast was overpriced and not that good for $75 bucks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overpriced for what you get"
No complimentary coffee in the lobby, only 2 cups of comp coffe in the room - any more - 1.50 per cup, $8 bottles of water, no refrigerator or microwave in the room. Overpriced cocktails. "Nice quiet hotel, surrounded by the ocean."
Overall great! The only small problem and why i rated 4 for cleanliness was that the bathroon tub had a trace amount of dirt in it, looked like sand. I cleaned it myself before use. Otherwise everything else was perfect!Genuine Expedia guest review
expected more from this resort - no fridge in the hotel rooms; pillow covers smelled; shower barely had water come out plus the water leaked outside the shower glass; toilet leaking water from the toilet handle; dirty drainer with hair in the tub; stained towelsGenuine Expedia guest review
Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice place, with great staff, but I thought was a bit pricy. $8 buck for a bottle of water?! Come on man! That was just tip of iceberg. I live on Oahu and go to Hilton Hawaiian Village on a regular basis for functions, and they don't hit you that hard.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very pleasant stay. We didn't have a room with a bay view, but the views from the restaurant and many of the common areas was breathtaking. Right across from one of my favorite beaches. Great service with a smile.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel to get away from it all"
There's a lot that's very good about the Loew's Coronado: it's large, clean, has a great pool area (multiple pools and hot tubs) and a lovely staff. It's on the bay side of Coronado, and just a five minute walk from the beach. The rooms have private patios that are big and equipped with chairs and tables, and are shielded from the neighboring patios. […] It's a good place to relax, swim, go for a drink on one of the patios facing the bay. We had a room facing the corner of the marina, with the pool area to our right instead of facing directly on the pool, so it was quiet. The con is that it the hotel is far from town, and that the hotel uses this to their advantage. There are no vending machines. If you need to buy a soft drink from the market, there are few choices, and all are rather expensive. They charge a daily rate for WiFi in the rooms, which seems excessive in this day in age, but it's free in the lobby and the pool area. The daily parking fee, for a hotel that's not located in a crowded city, is a bit much. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Called up for pillows and was given pillows without pillow cases. Once I pointed that out, I was then delivered pillow cases to put on myself, not different pillows with the cases on them. Not to mention, the pillows were absolutely disgusting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic resort ... at a price"
This was our last stay after 10 days touring CA. Very busy over the weekend we couldn't get a late check out on the Monday as the whole hotel was fully booked for a corporate event. "The hotel has a great location"
The hotel is about 3 miles south of the Hotel Del Coronado, the big one built in the 1880's out of wood that is a national treasure. Upon arriving the staff were very courteous and friendly and they certainly appear to be well trained and knowledgeable. There is a fantastic patio area with views of San Diego and the bridge from the island to the city […] that is wonderful. To make it even better, they use gas heaters to finish off the romantic effect with lots of comfy outdoor furniture. The initial room we were given wasn't really up to par given the great first impression of the front desk and entry way to the main lobby (lumpy bed, shower leaked due to worn sealant on the glass panes on the shower stall). The staff made good on the room's shortcomings the next day by reassigning us to a better room in the same section. We had an excellent breakfast at the hotel after our first night, all of the ingredients were fresh and well prepared. From this point on, we used the hotel and its location as a base from which to explore the island and San Diego in the middle of October. The best part of being here at this time of year is that it is "off season" and so the traffic is lighter and it doesn't have a lot of yukky tourists like me cluttering up the place. One thing I didn't expect were conventioneers, the hotel is set up to accept lots of them so ballrooms, pools, and other areas can be expected to be filled with them. They generally were well behaved, no complaints. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel, but too many fees"
My husband & I had stayed at the Loew's Coronado two years ago. We found the setting beautiful; rooms clean; and food delicious. This time, I was very disturbed to find that there were so many additional fees for things, like: use of the exercise room; extra K cups; parking and WiFi in the room. I spoke with the manager about it, suggesting that Loew's […] raise their base room rate and include the above mentioned amenities. I felt like the hotel was trying to do what airlines are doing! Great place if you want to be in a self contained resort. Liked everything about it and the staff really takes care of you. One beef, you have to pay a lot daily for internet.
