A decent 5 star hotel as you would expect but be careful about few things if you are going on your personal expense. Wifi connection is charged seperately and is 22euros for 24 hours. Breakfast is 29 euros and generally not included in the room rate. I have to admit that the food was great. Finally if you want to have anything from the bar it would cost an arm and a leg. Small mars bar was something of 2.40 euros and Coke for 4.30 euros. Anyway, this is in the city centre with lots of nice places around and many small restaurants, etc.

This hotel was excellent. Parking could be frustrating. The hotel valet costs 25 Euros a day! However there is parking on the street in front for about 12 euros (parking meter) which is safe. The hotel room was adequate. If you need a nice TV, dont book this hotel! Also internet is not free nor is it cheap. The best thing about this hotel was the staff which was extremely helpful and accommodating. The hotel is in the middle of the Europa Center (shopping mall in Berlin) and across from the zoo. Its quite a walk to the main attractions, but there is a subway stop really close by. In short, don't expect a 5 star luxury hotel room (though its not a bad hotel room). You are paying for the service and the great location.

The hotel was outstanding in many ways: the front desk people were very friendly, attractive, professional, well-dressed and very helpful; the room was clean, sleek, modern, comfortable and very quiet; the location was near KaDeWe department store, the zoo, the park, U-bahn, S-bahn, tour bus, tour boat, great restaurants; the price was outstanding (however if you want breakfast, their buffett is 30euros (@$40). We got breakfast around the corner at Movenpick - a great buffett for half the price). Now I tell others to use Hotels.com . . . and will use for the next trip!

The staff at the Hotel Palace in Berlin went out of their way to satisfy us. We had booked some of the nights of our stay through a conference organizer and they had booked rooms with two twin beds. Despite this, the staff at the Hotel Palace found us a room with a single queen bed with an upgrade at no cost to accommodate our needs. They were friendly and extremely helpful. The room we had was in the newly renovated wing of the hotel and it was very comfortable and spacious (including the bathroom that has both a large bathtub and a stand-up shower). Their gym and pool are also very nice. The area is nice, with many shops and restaurants near by and just a short walk to the Tiergarten and U-bahn and S-bahn stations. We highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Berlin.

Hotel Palace Berlin is not a old hotel but it is not brand new either. In American terms (out of five stars) the Hotel Palace Berlin would probably rank as a four star hotel. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was really nice. The bathroom was large but only one sink and the prefabricated shower (not tile, marble etc.) barely fit one person. The tub was large but for a suite the bathroom could use some updating. The bed(s) were comfortable but the hotel trimmings, furniture etc are showing their wear. Because this was Europe our expectations were measured but were very satisifed with the hotel and the excellant customer service really helped the stay be very pleasent.
