This hotel is in an excellent location to access the best of NY. Centrally located, close to Grand Central Station, subway, Times Square, Theater District and yet in a quiet neighborhood. The entire hotel staff was welcoming and helpful from the front desk to the restaurant and bar, housekeeping, concierge and doorman. We were in NY to visit our daughter, […] celebrate a birthday and enjoy NY at Christmas. When the hotel staff heard we were celebrating my husband's birthday there was a very nice card from the staff, mini cupcakes and coupons for breakfast in our room when we returned that evening. What a wonderful surprise! This was our second stay at Kimpton Hotel and we will definitely return! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"70 park ave"
The hotel is nice and convenient. The staff very pleasant and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The temp control in the room didn't work very well and the room was a little on the warm side. The TV was pay as you go; couldn't even get the news unless you paid for it. The bathroom was very inconvenient. The toilet was so close to the wall you were […] forced to sit side-saddle and you had to step over the toilet to get to the bathtub. Considering the layout, the shower controls were on the inside right which meant you had to be inside the tub to turn everything on. However, the shower was refreshing and the water pressure very good although it was difficult to get good lather. In spite of a few negatives, I would stay here again since I didn't come to NYC to sit in a hotel room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Uneven service, perfectly fine"
If you want to stay at a clean hotel near Grand Central this is it. But don't go because you expect Kimpton service or high quality rooms. The hot water was erratic. The windows were frosted over to block out the alley, but still drafty. Our friends' room heater banged one night. The service was uneven. Friendly staff served wine and spiked cider at […] hospitality hour. They provided trail mix of marshmellows, chocolate and nuts, a little random. The morning coffee is supposedly complimentary but I was charged to my room one day and then told to tell them I was a guest and I would be comped the next. Besides the paid coffee was free hot chocolate service one morning, gone the next. Because of proximity to Grand Central, it was near impossible to hail a cab. The staff were happy to try to stand in the snow, we gave up and called uber. The concierge used open table to book a table for other guests. Uneven, but clean and convenient! "Motel Six with a Kimpton Label"
High priced for a tiny room on the third floor with frosted over windows, dust covered everything and a musty smell. Worst of all was the temperature of the room stayed at 78 degrees all night even with the thermostat set at 65. Notified the staff and was told it was unseasonal warm for December in NYC. My reply was that I would think a Kimpton hotel […] on park ave in NYC could adapt to the change in temperature. Not even a cup of coffee was offered for the inconvience. Really felt like I was in a Motel Six. Hilton is just a short ride uptown on Sixth ave. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Kimpton in Need"
I love Kimpton and I love the location of 70 Park. That said, this hotel is in need of a serious upgrade. The lobby is dated and inefficient -- direct access to the street means that the staff should be wearing gloves while typing in the winter. The carpets were dirty, as were the mats in the elevators. Service-wise, the front desk folks were accommodating, […] but upon checkout couldn't find someone to check my bag in a timely manner. I hope the Kimpton team focuses attention on the value of their brand -- and ways a property such as this one can diminish it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Do not think it was worth the price paid. We stayed 4 nights but the room doesn't even have a window to look out to. The first room we were given has a moldy smell to it. They were able to give us another room though. Location is great, close to Grand Central and walkable to the theatres.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small room but exceptional service!"
Although our rooms were quite small, the staff at this hotel made up for any shot-coming in the room size! They were most accommodating for any and all requests we made from the guest registration desk employees to the wonderful gentlemen that hailed taxis for us. We checked in late and missed their nightly wine celebration but were offered a bottle […] of wine that was delivered to our room immediately. Although there is no dining facility in the hotel, they do have several menus from nearby restaurants that deliver. After spending the day touring the city it was really nice to order up dinner and enjoy it in the comfort of our room. The bar was very warm and friendly and offered warm mixed nuts, popcorn and a bar mix snack. Since we had a young child with us, we took a couple of the snacks to our room along with a wonderful cocktail. The rooms are very nicely furnished and exceptionally clean. All in all I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of this staff and would highly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Clean room, great service, request a room in the back of the hotel because street traffic is pretty noisy during the night. Otherwise it was a great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was clean, staff pleasant & professional. My only complaint was I was required to make a large deposit when we checked in although the room was paid for three months prior to arrival; eight days later I have not received the refund.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was super nice. The room was spacious for NYC. I love the Kimpton perks with the wine hour and coffee/tea. The bed was comfortable. The location was perfect and very centrally located.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice but very small"
Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. The rooms were very small and beds were not comfortable. The bathroom was so small that when you got out of the shower you had to be mindful not to step in th toilet. Not someplace I would recommend for an elderly family or friend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Boutique Hotel"
We loved 70 Park Avenue! Though it was a little tight for 4 people with all of our luggage, the service was fantastic. The concierge was extremely knowledgable and led us in many adventures. Clean, clean, clean and so quaint. I would like to stay there again when travel takes us to NYC!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"excellent small hotel"
Walked into small lobby where there were two glass containers with water, one with lemon; the other orange which I drank everytime I passed by. Check-in was easy, room was nicely decorated and comfortable. From 5-6 there was a free wine reception which we enjoyed. Staff was very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
a great choice for nyc. the usual outstanding kimpton service and amenities, and a location that is close to everything: grand central, bryant park, the shops of park and madison avenues and the subway. staff is both friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. great rate for nyc and easily accessible to both laguardia and newark. will […] stay here again. "Friendly Hotel With Benefits"
In the Age of Stringency and being charged extra for everything it's nice to find a clean, comfortable, classy little jewel of a hotel on Park Avenue. Amenities abound and the staff is helpful in every way. Top notch.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very nice (although a little small) room, but the exceptional part was the staff behind the front desk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay very few amenities"
The only negative comment I have about this hotel is that the restaurant and bar where closed on Sunday ..otherwise a good stay. Staff where very helpful and friendly. Especially the door men.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Reasonable-ish for NYC"
Hotel is nice for mid-tier NYC. It's not as nice as most Kimptons we've stayed at, but it's better than most NYC hotels we've stayed at in similar price ranges. Everything is small, but the people are nice. Valet parking prices are brutal. The fact the serve Cafe Vitta coffee in the mornings is a major plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location, but rooms suffocatingly hot."
Rooms too hot. It was cold outside (the day after we left is snowed). I hit the AC at 65F and it would not pump cool air at all. Fixed windows so could not get any fresh air in the room. Breakfast vouchers were good and appreciated. Staff pleasant and helpful. Did not appreciate extra $120 for 3 nights for an "extra person". We are a family of four, […] bedding was 2 x doubles and we did not use any extra bedding, so why the extra charge? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I didn't like this hotel. The rooms and especially the bathroom are extremely small. There wasn't any air conditioner or heater for that matter. I didn't know they accepted dogs in the rooms! It was a very disappointing experience.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great staff but Hotel was just okay."
The staff at this hotel could not be better, from the doorman to the cleaning women. All were very friendly, responsive and informative. With the exception of the female bartender who at 12:00 midnight made sure you were not dawdling over your drink. The rooms were tiny, however the beds were very comfortable. Now the big issue was the bathroom, you […] had to walk out just to change your mind. They use Bigelow products which I love but the bathroom was so tiny it really took away from most of the good. That is why I can only give it an OK. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Staff was great but the a/c/heating system I feel needs to be adjusted. On our stay on 10/31/13 the room was very warm and the temp was set at 67. When we called to say the room was warm they sent a tech, The tech advised us that it is on the winter system. He brought us a fan and opened the window but the noise woo loud. That was my only complaint. […] The one night the sleeping conditions were a bit uncomfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was our first time in NYC and the hotel was exactly what we were hoping for. The hotel staff was very professional and friendly - everyone. They all went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The concierge, Kevin, was absolutely amazing! He assisted us in planning our time so we were able see and do all the things we had planned, […] plus told us about other wonderful things to see. He was patient and always available; I don't think our trip would have been as enjoyable without his help. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. "Nice hotel, tiny room"
The room was extremely small and overheated. Window looked out on a noisy generator so windows needed to be closed. We turned off the heat but the room did not cool off until about 5 AM. One elevator was broken so getting to the lobby required quite a wait.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was expecting a lot more from this hotel. I have stayed at hotels that were half the price and they were cleaner and in better condition. Where the door frame met with the tile there was dried reddish chunky stuff (like vomit or something else splatted and was not cleaned). The sheets and a decorative pillow had a several inch slash in them. The windows […] to the room looked like they have never been cleaned, there was so much grime on both sides of the window. The roller shade under the blinds was filthy. The shower head was so small and sprayed a small area on my body. In my opinion, all of these things showed a lack of attention to detail and is why I do NOT recommend staying at this hotel. The plus side: the location is nice. It's beautiful at night to look out and see Grand Central station lit up. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I booked two rooms in this hotel by looking at good reviews. It is a nice and safe place to stay. Location is perfect. Walking distance to many places in NYC. Hotel staff are very friendly.Concierge helped us a lot in finding good restaurants for dinner. When I book two rooms via Expedia, it was not clear if the rooms have one or two beds. According […] to my previous experiences, most US hotels have two beds in a room. So, I booked two rooms for four people. But, when we got there we found out that the rooms have single beds. This was a bad surprise as we were not expecting such a thing. We wanted to upgrade our room (by paying the difference) but the hotel manager told us that they are fully booked. We had to share the beds which was the worst part of our stay. The rooms are extremely small for two people. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Overrated and outdated hotel with good location"
Location is the only thing that sets this property apart. The lobby and rooms themselves are small. The decor and furniture are outdated (lobby sofas are covered in clear plastic). In general the property needs updating to be competitive. I felt that the Hotels.com rating is too high and that the property itself was overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy, boutique hotel in a lovely, tree lined area!"
70 Park Avenue is a cozy, lovely, boutique hotel in a quieter area. The location is convenient to Central Station. The afternoon wine tasting and morning coffee are a very nice amenitie. "Great for NY....just average otherwise"
My husband and I went to NYC for a long weekend for my birthday and the hotel prices were outrageous (more then usual) This was the best price we could find in a 4 star range. When we arrived I realized the hotel was undergoing some exterior renovations (so I now understand the low price) but thank goodness we were not disturbed by any of that. The […] staff was friendly and attentive and the daily wine hour was a great perk. The rooms were small (eh its new york!) but NOT the smallest I've seen by far! Our biggest complaint....the location! It was a bit too far from most things to walk, yes grand central was close by but the subway is not always the way we wanted to travel, and getting a cab was close to impossible because they were all driving by full from grand central. So if you don't mind an average room, good service, and you like to walk, have at it! It was my first stay with a Kimpton hotel and I would choose a Kimpton again, just maybe not this one. "Great boutique hotel in great location"
Hotel staff was amazing in particular the male concierge in the mornings was very knowledgable and helpful. The room was a nice size and very comfortable. The location couldn't be beat. Overall, very happy with our experience particularly for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great if you wanted access to the subway on the east side, as the Grand Central stop was just a couple of blocks away. We found great places close by to eat and it was far enough away from the craziness of other crowded neighborhoods. The only issue was the room size. There […] was no room for two suitcases. We had to use the desk for one and partially block the door for the other. I expected the room to be small, but this was more than I anticipated. Overall it was a nice place and I'd stay there again. This was a nice experience. Hotel clean and convenient. Modern too. One thing to improve: rooms can be too noisy regarding the outside (windows could be changed, in order to have ones more efficient regarding street's noise).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for business trip"
70 Park Ave was great for a weekend business trip. Just a few blocks from Grand Central and easy access to the Queens tunnel. Plenty of great food in the area. "Overpriced for what it delivers"
While I'm a frequent guest at kimpton hotels I have to say overall this one is a dissapointmemt. The facilities are "fine" but that's about it. Nothing special particularly given the extraordinary cost.Genuine Expedia guest review
I loved this hotel and would definitely stay again or try another of the Kimpton group next time I go to NY! Being near Grand Central was a plus for getting around the city. It was very easy to get to a Yankee game from this hotel. Not too much in the surrounding neighborhood open after 10 pm. But that was the only negative. Staff was very friendly […] and accommodating and the concierge was great. He recommended some good spots to visit including the 9/11 Memorial. He booked my tickets for me so there was no waiting in the long line when we arrived at the site. Nice perk was the complimentary wine served to guests between 5-6. "Not what i was expecting"
This was my first time staying at a hotel in midtown, I don't think I would ever stay again. Its inconveniently located in between the 33rd and 42nd subway stops. The room was much smaller then depicted, half the reason I book this hotel was due to the fact there was a couch in the deluxe king suit, but there was no couch just a chair. The rooms decor […] is much more modern and up to date then the bathroom which had a bad paint job. I also was on the 8th floor and the traffic from the streets was too loud. Despite this all the staff was very nice and accommodating, allowing me an extra hour to checkout. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Family Stay at the 70 Park Hotel"
We loved the location next to Grand Central Station and a 10 minute walk to times square. Safe neighborhood only a 4-minute walk from Grand Central Station, with a Starbucks, restaurants and bodegas even closer.
