"Duplicate room Keys, No Hot water and Extremel Sma"
1) The room was incredibly small (maybe 10ft x 7ft) – This point is minor since space in NYC is at a premium and small rooms are not uncommon. 2) Someone had a key to my room and tried to enter it at 2am. Originally we booked a "Cozy Queen", and upon check-in the front desk provider made us aware that the room was so cozy it was only 180sqft. and offered us a room upgrade for $50 per night. My husband and I stayed at the W Hotel for 8 nights. The location was fantastic - near a lot of shops including Bloomingdales. It was quite easy to go around New York from the hotel because it was accessible from 2 subway stations. The room was great, although it was quite small. It was very clean and they provided these really nice toiletries. Be […] careful of moving the stuff on the mini bar though. They use some high tech way of monitoring if the stuff are moved through sensors so we were erroneously charged with a few items. The lady at the front desk quickly reversed the charges when we explained what happened. Staff were very helpful, giving us useful information and breaking our $100 bills a couple of times when we ran out of change. They also served free hot cider at the lobby everyday which I loved! The only downside is that WIFI is only available for free at the lobby. You have to pay about $14 for 24-hour WIFI access in your rooms. We'd definitely stay here again. "Horrible customer service"
I stayed at multiple W Hotels and I am also a Star Awards member. This was by far the worst customer service I have experienced in any field. I booked 2 nights direct with the hotel for the conference I attended and one night through Expedia. I received a promotion via email on upgrading my room for an additional cost. I was sent an email confirmation […] approving the upgraded room and rate for all nights. I also called to confirm the upgrade and to reserve a roll away and would pay the extra $25 for this. At check in they confirmed the upgraded room at the price agreed and a roll away bed but the room was not cleaned. When I checked back in just 2 hours later (2pm), they gave the room to someone else and said all the roll away's are out. I asked for the manager Katie and she confirmed the agreed price and terms for the upgrade and roll away and said "sorry" we gave to someone else. They would not provide any other options or solutions for their confirmed mistake. I will not recommend this chain any longer solely based on the 'I do not care about you" attitude and solution given even after they admitted that this was their internal issue and mistake. For $400+/ night stay- I will spend my money on the other 200 options in NYC that would appreciate my business. Also, we will be removing this option at my corporation as "recommended" since I am not the first to complain.
