No hot water at 6:35am. The entire shower was cold. The heat in the room was turned off and temperatures overnight went in the high 30's. When I brought my concerns to the front desk, all I was offered was a "sorry".

My daughter and I stayed at the Doral Arrowwood the night before touring SUNY Purchase as part of her college decision process. The hotel is withing 1/2 mile from the school, meaning we could walk between the hotel and the school. There is a portion of the walk with no sidewalks along a somewhat busy road, so you need to be careful, but we appreciated […] not having to rent a car for our trip. The service at the hotel was great. They have two restaurants which offered enough variety of food for our visit. The concierge went out of her way to ensure we received assistance when needed. Our only complaint was that we could not get the room warm enough for our needs (we are desert rats), but housekeeping promptly brought us more blankets when requested. I will stay here again. There probably isn't enough room to tell you everything wrong with this experience. The room was at best a motel. Obviously they are remodeling and if not it needs to be. It was the best hotel I've been at. Modern and beautiful architecture, huge, clean and confortable room, excellent pool: we could go out in the winter evening for a swim and it was like a pleasant vapour bath (though the water could have been a little bit warmer. :-) The surroundig area is beautiful too. The bar was quite expensive, but the food and […] the atmosphere were excellent. There is a huge aquarium and a fireplace that makes this place special. The other thing we liked was that there was 24 hour service, e.g. we could go for a glass of wine around 2 AM... Also, we could connect our laptops though HDMI and enjoy our movies on a huge TV screen in our language. Most of other hotels don't offer this possibility, you can choose only from the limited channels and (optional) expensive programmes that they have. We didn't check the restaurant, so I can't comment on that. It was only a weekend, but a very pleasant experience. I can highly recomment this place. PS: It is very easy to get there from NYC by public transportation. The train stops at White Plains and a taxi will take you there for 20 - 25 dollars. Read more

I thought the hotel was very nice. The only complaint that I have was the cost of the movie rental. I thought $18 was ridiculous considering that it costs much less to actually go to the movies to see a new one in theaters. I would go again, but would not rent a movie.

The room was very nice and "roomy". Nice linens. The Pub was a very cozy place to hang out and watch TV - good food. The best part about this hotel was the workout facility -one of the larger one's I've encountered. the pool was really great - heated with outdoor/indoor access.

our firsrt room the air conditioner didn't work when the front office was told they sent an engineer to repair it after spending over an HR he changes the thermostat and tells me to leave it at 65 and it will.be cool. after several hours it never cools office so I complain to the front desk once again. they tell us to pack and upgrade ur room and we […] move. our new room is bigger but has the most uncomfortable bed and no tub. and the air conditioner still doesn't work so we call the front desk and they send 2 engineers and they spend an hour or more working on the system and we end up moving again to a new room across the hall. and while the air conditioner did work a little better it never truly got cold. the day before we checked out there was a worm in the bathroom and a huge clump of black hair in the shower. parking was a half mile from the doors if you didn't use valet. it was in my opinion the worst hotel I've ever paid to much for Read more

The only complaint I had was that the curtain in our room didn't reach the window sill. The sunlight filtered the room early. Would have been able to sleep in longer if the room had darkening curtains.. We enjoyed the exercise room and the indoor pool.

Although there was nothing terrible about the hotel, there was absolutely nothing good. The food was very expensive, yet very unimpressive. The room was ridiculously outdated, did not seem 100% clean, and had an odd smell. Housekeeping didn't bother to show up 2 out of the 3 days we were there (showing up at 5 PM while we're getting ready for a 6 PM […] dinner and refusing to return in 10 minutes does NOT count as showing up). The service at reception, etc. was not rude in an outright way, but they made zero effort to be helpful or accommodating. I have stayed here before and, like last time, the staff was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel, right next to SUNY Purchase, was ideal. Unfortunately, the room was awful. Built into the side of a hill this hotel made cell service nil. They offer wifi but it was weak in my room. The toilet dripped nonstop, coffee pot was coated in grounds, and I had to hip-check the door to get it open and closed. The hair dryer was broken in my room and the grout in the shower was almost completely gone.

We arrived in a torrential downpour and were pleased at the size of our room and the scale of the hotel. The girls loved the pool once the storms had passed--we sampled both the inside and outside pools. Dinner at the Pub in the early evening was laid-back and kid-friendly. The breakfast buffet was ample and delicious.
