The front desk staff were not all that friendly. The room accomodations were adequate, nothing fancy. The towels had small holes in them.

You know, the hotel was "OK" but no more than that. It was really quite noisy in the room; the folks next door sounded as if they were in the same room as us. Since they stayed up late & got up early in the morning, we heard everything they did, and I do mean everything! I have no prudish qualms, but I don't need to know all that goes on in the Day's […] Hotel. There was no breakfast of any sort, and I'd have liked the experience more if I could've had a decent cup of coffee and some sort of breakfast. The staff were all pleasant and very helpful. The hotel itself was old and could use some TLC - carpets in hallway old/worn, the elevator had a rough stop when we reached our floor. The room was clean and I especially liked the roominess of the bathroom itself. Since we didn't request a handicapped room I was surprised we got one and we weren't told at check-in. With all of the handicap equipment […] in the bathtub itself, taking a shower was a little tricky. The tub didn't empty while showering, although it was obvious it was trying to when the water was turned off. Bed clean and comfy with fluffy pillows; shower hot and vigorous with soft fluffy towels. WiFi poor reception. Urine odor upon entering room - old and faint but nonetheless it was there. Staff friendly. Windows leaked lots of air - good thing it wasn't cold. Desk chair had no padding at all. Entry into hotel smelled of smoking. I would return but ask […] for a different room. The themostat in our first room was broken, maintance checked it right away, but did not fix it as they said they would. When we complained the second night we were moved to a up-graded suit which was very comfortable.

We had an enjoyable visit. Once we figured out the "T", the location of the hotel made sense. It was easy getting in and out of downtown. The surrounding area is a little sketchy at night however.

I was placed in a “business” room. I could not get ANY internet signal. After calling 3xs a manager finally came and fixed the issue. He ended up moving me to a different room. I was VERY happy with the manager and his immediate action to solve the problem. However, the next night when I went to use the internet, it was slow and I could not load my […] email. The staff was very friendly, but my room was dreadful. The room door was unlocked and ajar when I entered, and the TV didn't turn on. Additionally, the door didn't feel securely locked when I was inside the room. Though the towels were surprisingly nice, there was black mold built up on the ceiling of the shower. I was in town on business, so I wanted something close to Harvard Sq, but didn't want to spend a fortune. There is no T-line close by, but there are buses. Instead, I decided to walk to the Square -- about 20-30 min; perhaps a bit more than I thought, but I knew in advance that local transportation was a bit of a problem. The room I had gave a great […] view of the Charles, so in the morning I could watch them rowing by in their shells. So pleasant to watch, and up close in the park across from the hotel, it was even better. The Charles is really such a beautiful river, with it's winding turns, back and forth. I've now put it on my "Bucket List": To row on The Charles, surrounded by a symphony of colorful falling leaves. Peace. Heaven. A king sized bed that was so comfy, Very nice. And a microwave and small refrig, so that I wasn't forced to eat in a restaurant every day. On the back side of the hotel is a mall with a huge STAR supermarket that had everything, from prepared foods to fresh fruits and vegetables to frozen foods. Great if you want to save a few dollars on eating, to use for entertainment and other expenses. And for a little late-night ice cream treat while watching TV in that king sized bed. The WiFi was intermittent, so don't count on that, but the parking was complimentary, so you can count on SAVING yourself some money to put toward some T-shirts and other souvenirs, while you're there. Looked like a great deal, turned out to be one of the worst hotels I've ever visited. Room smelled of sickening air freshener, so I had to open the window. Chinese restaurant located below my room made it then smell like moo goo gai pan, and black flies on window screen must have thought so too. ICK!!!!!

The hotel is dated and very basic, but clean. It also sits across from the river and is right on a bus stop. I say that because if you don't rent a car, you will rely on public transit. The bus stop directly behind the hotel can take you right to a subway stop at either Central or Harvard station - from there you can go anywhere.
