This was the closest Hotel to Southbend we could find on a Notre Dame gameday. With a 2 1/2 star rating we were'nt expecting all that much. All we needed was a place to sleep for the night, before heading home the next morning. We arrived around 10 PM. Checkin was smooth and quick. Parking was spacious, and we found a parking space only a few yards […] from the entrance. The condition of the hotel was very good. Very clean, without any signs of wear. Either it has been remodeled or is a fairly new building. The room was also very good. No musty smells. Everything worked liked it was supposed to. There were 2 areas for the bath. A sink/mirror area for shaving,teethbrushing,etc. The shower/toilet were in a seperate room with a door for privacy. Because there were 4 in our party, it made the morning ritual go faster. Overall, I have to say the 2 1/2 star rating is too low. I'd give it at least 3 stars or even 3 1/2 stars. I would stay again. Read more

My family stayed here during a trip to Notre Dame. It is an older hotel so there is some wear and tear. The carpets need replaced. Pleasantly surprised. Room was large, clean and well appointed for the price. Staff at the front desk was extremely effecient and accommodating. Convenient location with four restaurants within walking distance. Easy access to toll road.

Have stayed in this hotel many times for Notre Dame Games. This was the Istanbul time booked through Expedia since you had a better cancellation policy. fortunatley we didn't have to use it. The hotel was renovated 3 or 4 years ago, Don't no how long they are going to us the newly renovated thing. The staff is downgraded & complement reduced since […] we first started to stay there. I honestly didn't have very high expectations of this hotel after reading some reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was! The bed was so comfortable, room was very clean and loved the coffee maker! It was located by several great restaurants.....we stayed here after a Notre Dame game, I'd definitely stay again.

We have stayed in a Jameson Inn in Greenville, TN. This one doesn't compare. Maid service was quite hard to figure out if and when the room would be cleaned or what would be done. Every day there was a maid's cart in the hallway, all dsay. No folder in the room listing the motel's services orrestaraunts or points of interest in the area. Upon check in I noticed the room was designated as non smoking. As I'm a smoker, I inquired as to this room. Indeed it was a smoking room, and was recently converted from a non smoking room. Maintenance should change this to avoid confusing other guests.

I was traveling with my two dogs and this property has a very pet-friendly policy, nice area for taking the dogs for walks, and a big, spacious room. The first room was not clean , stains on bedskirt , holes in the bathroom wall and the room smelled musty/smoky. I requested another room which was better. I went to get some cups(none in the room)from the cleaning staff, the person was rude. I will find another place to stay for the money.

We were driving across the Country and having trouble finding hotels with outdorr pools (mainly in the west and midwest). We loved the Jameson. Our room was great (we didn't need anything too fancy). Go in to the downtown area if you have the opportunity as it is really quaint and fun. Our only negatives about the hotel have to do with the customer […] service: we only had a half full shampoo (about 1/2 ounce) so we asked for 2 more and were told to "come down and get it ourselves" and when we asked for a late checkout (on a sunday with the hotel more than 75% empty, we were told "it is not possible"... we just wanted to stay at the pool and be able to shower at about 1:00 p.m.".... great hotel.... not such great employees. Obivious 2d owner facility. First room unsat due to noise of refridgerator. 2d room just as bad. Carpet filthy. When you leave black foot prints in tub when stepping in you know there is a problem. Didn't need the attitude of the desk staff. Was in Elkhart for an unpleasant situation. Didn't need that added to by Hotel.

This is an older, no frills hotel. It is in good condition, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay (not great), and they have a very convenient, lenient pet policy (with plenty of surrounding grass for dog-walking). The location is close to the highway and various restaurants. Two thumbs up!

The reviews online led me to believe this was a real winner--several steps above the nearby Holiday Inn Express. It's not. The service was great. Staff very friendly. The hotel, however, had a funky Febreeze-y stink going on, and the room could have been better cleaned. At first glance, it was perfect, aside from the rattling fridge which we unplugged. […] But later I spilled a little water on the carpet. When I went to dry it up with a towel, the towel came up brown. Not a good sign. Also, my allergies went from 0 to 10 after 5 minutes in the room: another bad sign. We stay here when we visit Notre Dame and provides a good, inexpensive alternative on game weekends. It's a good all purpose hotel. Certainly will not be confused for the Ritz, but you can't ask for more in a little Midwest town

Second visit to Jameson Inn. Stayed while dropping daughter off at Notre Dame. Less expensive than actually staying at South Bend, and only about 15 minutes drive to campus. We went to Elkhart for a family reunion but did not stay in the hotel where the others stayed. The Jameson Inn was only 1 mile away and considerably cheaper, and after the other family members mentioned that their rooms seemed so small, we were really glad we chose the Jameson Inn.

The hotel location was great for the multiple areas we wanted to visit. Once we made it to the hotel, we didn't need to hit any toll roads to get where we wanted to go. The staff was very nice. I probably had direct contact with 6 different employees during our stay and all were professional and nice.
