I stayed here after riding in the BP MS 150. I chose this hotel for 2 reasons: the location, and the hot tub (after riding over 150 miles all I wanted to do is soak in a hot tub). Location was great. VERY disappointed with this hotel. Arrived to find they had "overextended" themselves and no longer had a room available for us even thought we had a reservation with conf #. They sent us to a Holiday Inn 6 miles away. The whole reason we booked this hotel was because it was within walking distance from the Convention Center (where our work convention […] was) and we could walk around downtown/sixth street after our work convention. "Very disappointing experience"
We paid well for our room for a four day stay and every aspect of the hotel was a disappoint. The pool/hot tub is a joke and looked unattended. The 18th floor restaurant that they advertise so much about was barely a deli. Sure it was on the 18th floor and had a view, but at 730 PM ON A FRIDAY NIGHT they had the lights off and the chairs on the tables […] to 90% of the restaurant (not a holiday weekend either). So we took a table over by the bar, which was the only open part. There was ONE server/bartender trying to do everything herself. The menu was nothing more than a very very FEW choices of bar food that you would find in a hole in the wall. We ordered sandwiches and they brought us tiny SINGLE USE ketchup/mustard bottles. I swear to god I am not making this up. What was advertised as a nice luxurious 18th floor dining experience actually felt like we were eating at the airport! The bed in the room was uncomfortable and lopsided. The advertised adjustable dials for comfort setting did nothing and appeared broken. The bathroom was tiny, and the walls/floors were poorly painted, worn, and in disrepair and not at all what I expected from a downtown Hilton hotel. The room was NOT as advertised! This is a nice hotel but way too close to the highway. The road noise was unbearable even on the 11th floor. After two nights I switched rooms to be further from the highway and that was better but not great.
