The bed was very comfy and I slept like a baby. The breakfast and 180 degree view on the 18th floor was to die for. The wait staff, maid service, front desk, and valet were always very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary unlimited fresh fruited water and coffee in the lobby was refreshing as we went in and out often to tour the local area by foot. We felt safe and secure with the key card access only on the elevators. It is located right off 6th street so it is convenient but also noisy on Saturday night. There was a white noise machine in our room that we didn't use. We were on the 14th floor and heard sirens and other immediate guest activity only on Saturday night. The bathroom wall, though was paper thin and we could here other guests in the adjacent room clearly throughout our stay. We would have liked a hot tub since the jacuzzi in the beautiful waterfalled outdoor pool was too cold to use in April. All-in all we enjoyed our stay!

"Good location...bad view!!"
We were given an inside room, it was horrible because the window was facing inside the hotel, we couldn't leave curtain open at all or the other guests would've seen right in. Also, we never received our wake up call and we had a maid come right into our room without even knocking very early in the morning (around 7:45am). I did inform the manager of these things and he ended up giving us free parking for 2 nights, so that was good. If you go, request an outside facing room and don't rely on wake up calls!! The hotel itself has great location, walking distance to 6th street and all of downtown!

"Very nice. Only had one problem"
It was very nice. Our stay was only for one night for your first wedding anniversary. We got to our room after a night out to a little gift and card signed from the staff. That made us feel very special. The only problem I had was checking out. We paid cash. Our debit card on the room was also charged for the full amount and there was a hold of almost $300 for a few days. That made us a little upset. But other than that it was great. Just don't give them your debit card if your going to pay cash.

"Weekend stay forum UT baseball"
Nice hotel with a great location. Staff was amazing all the way around. Valet is more than I prefer to pay. But that's just how it works downtown. Had a nice stay.

"Not bad at all"
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in April. The room, facilities, service were all good. Our room came with breakfast each day, and it was one of the best breakfast buffets I've experienced in a mid-range hotel. The location was good as far as being close to everything we wanted: 6th street, Rainey street, downtown, Franklin's barbeque were all close enough to walk to. The view left much to be desired, looking out over some kind of construction company yard. The pool is very small, but pleasant with a nice little waterfall. Very helpful staff.

"Love the view of this hotel"
Enjoyed the hotel, location, and service. I just wish I knew the coffee machine was a keurig, I would have brought better k cups because the coffee was terrible lol. But a great stay!

"Choose another hotel"
Hotel is nice and clean. Check in staff and valet were extremely rude. It took the night staff 30 minutes 3 trips to the 17th floor and 3 programmed cards later to figure out how to get us in our room after the card quit working.

"In the heart of SXSW"

"Meh...but it's about location"
Nice location in downtown Austin. The room faced in, so no view to speak of. The room was mostly nice, but considering the price, the bathrooms should really be updated. Otherwise, it was ok. Extra charge for valet seems excessive, the restaurant/bar was uncomfortably dead so we opted to go elsewhere. Overall, the location saved it because it is in a busy area of Austin close to restaurants and bars. If you intend on staying in, try elsewhere.

"Great location, in need of renovation..."
The hotel's location on 6th Street provides easy walking access to many of the restaurants and nightlife that make Austin interesting. A great coffee shop/bar shares a courtyard with the hotel; it was my first stop every morning during my stay. The hotel's condition needs some attention: the area under the sink in the bathroom had been painted over as many times as it could stand, and multiple screw holes along the window trim seem to indicate many different curtain systems over the years. The room is lit only by lamps, and not a central ceiling fixture, and it could use two more. The air conditioner blew cool air, but it didn't seem to remove any of the humidity from the room, and never reached the sixty degrees Farenheight advertised by the thermostat. None of these things are terrible, but for the price and the brand, they shouldn't even be noticeable. On Sunday morning, (when the hotel was most populated...) there wasn't enought hot water pressure for the shower to operate. I found this unacceptable. To their staff's credit, the hotel agreed to refund one night of my stay.

"Perfect Location if going to 6th st"
It was very nice! The beds were extremely comfortable. I stayed there for my 23rd birthday and it was very convenient! We literally walked to 6th street in under 5 minutes!

I expected more from the Hilton chain. There was not a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, there was not a shuttle to anyplace. No lunch restaurant. The only entrance was through the parking garage. When I arrived at my room, there was a large pile of dirty linens in the hallway blocking entrance to the room. There was not an entry way light, no light to view things in the closet. The coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator were in a cabinet that didn't have a light. Because of lack of entry light, it was very difficult to see to use these items. I will not stay here again.

"EXPENSIVE parking"
I was shocked when I checked in and found out I had no choice but to use the 30 dollar overnight valet service. That came to 90 dollars since 3 different vehicles were used to get there. We all traveled from 3 different cities to celebrate my sons 21st birthday. Now we know.

Everything about the hotel was great except for the 2 rooms on each side of us partying until 3:30 in the morning despite numerous attempts by management to quiet them. I feel there should be some compensation for an very unhappy sleep... Or should I say lack of sleep. I would love to let Hilton know!

"Overpriced and Underwhelmed"
Was supposed to have a king sized bed in the room, received 2 beds in room instead. Parking was $30 per night. The "market" had some medicines and bottled beverages. They had no food beyond candy bars and chips. A $130 cost over $200. The valet drivers had an attitude. Not impressed and won't be returning.

I reserved a room next to the convention center with double queen beds. When we arrived at the hotel at 11;00pm they said we don't have anymore rooms with 2 queen beds. I was traveling with 3 little kids so we needed the second bed and because I was traveling with 3 kids I couldn't go and look for another hotel. So basically take that room or nothing. We took the room with 1 king bed and 2 of us had to sleep on the sofa. If I would of known that I would of stayed at home. In top of that the room had a sqeeking noise all night long. That was the worst experience ever. I paid $180+ to be uncomfortable. The experience was bad that I decided to drive100 miles back home and travel for Sunday's event.

"Great!"
Great hotel right next to 6th street. We could walk everywhere. The only setback is that there is a $200 deposit which you may or may not get back depending on the condition you leave your hotel room at the end of your stay

"disappointed in the ambiance"
The Hotel is in a perfect location, close to the main part of Austin and easy access to the freeways. We didn't have any complaints about the service or our room. I did have a problem with the fireplace in the main atrium It didn't work. It was very cold outside, so I was planning on enjoying sitting on one of the comfortable chairs in front of the fireplace, and reading a book while my husband watched football in our room When I complained to the front desk, I was just given the run around. First I was told it didn't work, then when I persisted, I was told it was just for show, it never worked and I wouldn't be able to feel the heat from the chairs anyway. I'm sure amenities like that aren't important to those people who work there, maybe they're just over seen, but is important to your guests. It would of given the hotel a much more inviting feeling and a cozier appearance, especially on such a cold day. Sincerely Sharon Browning

"Nice view"
The hotel was great. The staff was helpful and the location was convenient. The only negative aspect was we didn't realize the only parking option was $30 a day valet.

"Austin in less than 24 hours"
Stayed for 1 night, everything was perfect. We could walk to everything, the front desk recommended fantastic restaurants, room was comfortable and had all of the amenities that we needed.

"Great Staff"
We had a great experience in Austin Texas, Hilton Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and made us all feel very welcome. Our only complaint was the 30 valet parking, we thought it was a bit high since most places are walking distance we didnt need to use our car at all and we would have been better off self parking.

Valet guys shouldn't be driving off and returning car fast, especially in small short space. Started my experience there with a negative view.
