We enjoyed the hotel BUT the pool was GROSS. My daughter wanted to use it but I was disgusted by the mold on the chairs and it didn't look like enough chlorine was used. Other than that it was great and so was the breakfast!

When I checked in after 2am and tired from driving from Iowa, the check in lady gave us keys that wouldn't open the door to our room. Our ro was very far from the front desk and we had to go back to her twice because both times the card wouldn't open the door. Then she moved us to a room that was right around the corner from the front desk. I saw the reviews and was worried about the cleanliness of this hotel. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and had white sheets so we could have seen if there was anything on the bedding. We stayed at the Jameson Inn South Bend four years ago when I brought my son out to visit Notre Dame. We stayed there this past weekend to see the Notre Dame football game. The Inn was just as I remembered it four years ago. I believe the same woman was working the desk. The room was very clean. It had a hair dryer, coffee maker and cable tv, the usual. There […] is a free breakfast in the morning with make your own waffles, cold cereal, bagels and muffins, and coffee and juice. There was also a computer and printer available in the lobby. The location is perfect, within walking distance to Notre Dame and a bus stop right next door. Restaurants are close and there is a variety. The room was big, the bed very comfortable, and the in room refrigerator and microwave made a nice touch. The shampoo was awesome too!

Based on some of the recent feedback we had noticed about this hotel, we were a bit anxious about what we would find when we arrived. We had 3 rooms (on an ND football weekend) booked in March and we worried about where we would go if things were bad. Our fears were unfounded! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was comfortable, clean and a stone's throw from a fantastic football weekend. The only problem is 31/933 is a complete dump of a road with fast food, as stations and liquor stores, so while you are at the hotel you definitely know you are in South Bend.

Stayed here while on a road trip and visiting some friends. Staff was very nice and friendly but the room was just kind of average. My wife was concerned with hairs found in the bed and questioned whether the sheets were new, but it wasn't bad enough for us to call the staff to get it changed. Bed wasn't that comfortable anyway. While this hotel is comfortable and clean, the rooms need some work. My room had wallpaper peeling on outside corners and a tub whose finish was wearing off. As well, the rug was wearing in the entrance way and outside the bathroom.

Do not recommend this place at all. The hallway smelled of cigaret smoke. My room smelled horribly of deodorizer that was trying to mask the smell of mold in my room. A couple of things concern me, the breakfast served did not change in the five days we stayed there. In the past it changed at least a couple times, bisquits and gravy with waffles got old after a couple days! I really liked this hotel. It is on a main street but backs up to a neighborhood. So you don't have the intense street lights burning into your room. Overall it's an average hotel. The rooms are being refurbished, and it looks like they need updating. Rooms are a little small - the area by the sink is a bit cramped. The breakfast they offered in the morning was okay. Going down the line, you had apples, cereal, biscuits & gravy, bagels, and a waffle maker. Not much else.

Hotel room had strong perfume odor that intensified if you turn on the AC. Beds are full size, not queen. Breakfast was OK, we liked the waffles with fresh strawberries. We have stayed at this hotel location several times and have always found it clean, comfortable and pleasant. The close proximity to the Notre Dame campus makes it a perfect location for parents of students. We love to take an early morning run and found a 'back way' into the Notre Dame campus arriving at the lakes and grotto for a pleasant experience. […] Unfortunately, the indoor pool area is sadly in need of updating. On our most recent trip, the pool area felt 'creepy' with rust and peeling paint on the ceiling. It looked like a 70's pool area in an other wise updated hotel. The Inn was clean and in good overall condition for an older facility - could use some refreshing. Staff was friendly and responsive to requests. Did not use pool facilities, they appeared to be basic but clean and in good condition. Notre Dame campus is only a couple of miles away and easy to get to from this location.
