"great potential, could do with some minor tweaks"
Lovely design, comfortable beds, value for money, but maintenance backlog needs to be addressed and reception smartened up (messy desk, unprofessional and receptionist was chewing gum). Toilet seat and sink and overhead shower needed fixing, no towel rail anywhere, in corridors light bulbs need replacing etc. But location is close to Champs Elysees, […] quiet location, I love the quirky design. With more attention to detail this can be a really good quality hotel. Now it is simply good enough Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
wonderful hotel with very friendly staff and a location away from the busy traffic, but close enough to walk around Paris if you wish or there is a metro station near by. Beware the rabbit though and approach with caution.

J'y reviendrai certainement. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Very nice hotel, with fun design. There is e real bunny in the foyer! Rooms are small, but comfortabele. Nice shop across the street for some snacks. Location is good, a 8 walk to the arc de triomphe.

I have now stayed here on two occasions whilst on business trips to Paris. This is unique magic themed hotel, which is really good fun to stay in. Breakfast is great and the staff are lovely. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but spotless, very quiet and comfortable. Perfect place to get some peace and quiet without being too far away from anywhere. Can definitely recommend to others and my first choice hotel.

I was for business in Paris. I wanted a not to expensive hotel in the 17th district near my businesscontact. So I ended up in Splendor. The rooms all have a theme connected to the start of cinema and illusion. The bed is very good, Breakfast is good and people very nice. It's near the Arc de Triomphe, walking distance. A really nice hotel!

The hotel was in a great location . Only 15 mins to many of the sites. Rooms were a bit small but really clean and nicely decorated . Quirky decor :-) all magical themes. The bed was really comfy. The man on the front desk was really helpful ... Had some nice chats with him. Told us nice places to go etc. The rabbit in reception was really sweet ;-) very friendly. Only like 2 mins to nearest station too which was good. I would stay here again and def recommend
"Fantastic until the end"

Most of our stay here was great. A warm welcome and rooms sorted quickly.the hotel is in a very quiet part of Paris, but is within walking distance of most of the sites. The decor was quirky and interesting although a bit tired especially the carpets. Rooms were small but functional, not much storage room though. Always disappointed when can't make a cup of tea. Had a nice nespresso machine, but no milk. Breakfast was good and the lady came in early to make sure we got breakfast when we had an early start on the last day. This is when things went wrong. We booked a taxi to Orly airport at 7am. When we arrived at the hotel late the evening before we were presented with a bill telling us that we had to make an advance payment of 32 euros and it would be a further 40 euros direct to the taxi. It was too late to sort anything else (which I guess is why they tell you then). We arrived in reception at 7am to find that the taxi was arriving at 7.30. This was cutting it fine. When the taxi arrived it had been booked for CDG airport and the driver refused to take us to Orly and left. We were obviously very stressed but initially the concierge said it wasn't his problem and he couldn't do anything. Eventually we persuaded him to call a local street taxi. This arrived in less than 5 minutes. During this time we asked for our 32 euros back which they refused to give. The taxi driver was great and got us to the airport on time charging us 40 euros total. He explained the whole thing was a con and the taxi drivers were actually friends of the hotel. The 32euros was a "booking fee". Despite emailing we have not seen our 32euros or had any apology. This turned what could have been a fantastic trip into something that left a nasty taste. I would have given this hotel a good review but I feel they have really let themselves and us down and displayed themselves as being totally dishonest.
"Nice & different hotel but too expensive"

Nice & different hotel but too expensive. Rooms + bathrooms are nice and I enjoyed my stay. Receptionists speak english well and are kind. Rooms are cleaned etc. For all this I will give 4* Bathrooms are nice too but hard to clean with 'glass' everywhere but for the price you expect all to be perfect, which is not the case. The lift is ridiculously little! You can barely fit 2 people in, so each person need to bring his own luggage down alone. Also no piccolo services seen. It was a nice and small hotel but I Cant see why the price should be so expensive, almost right up to the level of other Parisian 5* hotels like Le Meredian etc. All these things drag my rating down.

We arrived at the hotel and the receptionist said he was expecting one person. I showed him the booking and he seemed annoyed and told us we could pay for breakfast, at an additional cost of 17 euro pp. I said i was sure we had breakfast included. When we got to the room, it was apparent that they had tried to squeeze us in a single room, despite us paying for the top double (superior room). After taking my booking down and arguing for a while about the breakfast (clearly stated as included on the form) and the fact that it definitely wasnt a double, he said there was nothing he could do and there were no rooms. Eventually he said they had room 1, the (now fabled after reading reviews) room off the lobby. In fairness, the room was a lot larger, and we didnt hear much noise from the reception. The breakfast was also very good. The wet room shower however points towards the bathroom door and leaks into the bedroom, and a good deal of light shines through from the lobby. I would stay in the hotel again if the room was different, but I found the reception staff pretty rude and would want a different room away from the lobby, plus an honest admittance to issuing the wrong room. These things happen, but dont try to fob us off with a single room at half the price and not even offer a discount.
"Looks great, but let down by the details"

It is a value for money hotel, looks really nice, and quiet location close to Champs Elysees. Would recommend considering the price, but can be so much better. The detail let them down: receptionist chewing gum rather unprofessionally, messy reception desk, unprofessional check-out, the lift is really, really small, bedrooms have quirks: room 64 door to room really jams, sink leaks, only 2 normal and 2 trouser-hangers, sloping ceiling unpleasant, hooks not stuck on straight, no towel rail. Superior room on 3rd floor much better (room 34 'playing card room'): sink plug stuck down permanently, rain shower squirts literally everywhere (holes need cleaning out), toilet seat needs fixing down, nowhere to hang up your towels (!). Also in the corridors some lights need replacing. The hotel has been open 8 months and these things should all work still or by now. But do not let this put you off. If the hotel fixes the maintenance back-log and professionalise reception,it will be a superb hotel
"Splendor was splendid!"

Very nice, small, cosy and peaceful hotel at a good location near many metro stations (we used Monceau) and beautiful Park Monceau. Easily accessed from the airport by train and metro. All rooms different and uniquely decorated, the magical theme ran throughout the hotel. If you like walking, you can easily walk to Champs Elysee and Arc de Triomphe. Grocery shops, cafes and bars nearby. Good value for the money, highly recommended!
"Quaint but clean"

This hotel was in a fairly good location. A short walk to the Monceau Gardens and all the main attractions. There were two stores outside the hotel which sold pretty much anything you wanted. The hotel itself was small, the rooms a fair size and the facilities were pretty standard - WIFI, coffee machine, toiletries, hairdryer etc. The elevator was the tiniest I've ever seen! The staff were friendly and the rooms were lovely and clean. A good price for a decent hotel overall :)
