"Modern hotel, clean, good location"
09/18/14 Laura S
My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel recently for four nights. The hotel had been renovated and we found it quite modern and beautifully presented. The rooms are clean however a little oddly arranged - this didn't affect our stay however our toilet had a large unused space, a basin would have been excellent in there. The shower was great however did flood if the water was on moderate pressure more than 5 minutes. The wifi was poor and did not work for our final day at all and oddly we found that there were no tissues available in the room, again minor but it's the small things that we appreciate. Breakfast was great however seating was limited on some mornings and we were almost turned away one day when we arrived 45 minutes prior to breakfast officially finishing - I think the waiter was confused by the time. Overall clean and good location.

"Just needs to work out a couple of kinks"
09/15/14 IMARover1973 St. John's, Canada
I loved our room the minute we walked in. Big, bright and beautiful. 5th floor with a perfect view of the Eiffel tower. Doesn't get much better. Great check in, very friendly lady. Unfortunately we had a couple of issues that put a damper on our stay: ISSUE #1 AIR CONDITIONING. Noticed it was hot and humid in the room right away. Called front. Guy came up and looked at the settings (which I had already done), and said it will cut in soon. 2 hours later nothing. We went for supper and told them again at the front desk air conditioning not working. Said they would fix it. Got back to the hotel that evening and checked with the front to see if they had any luck fixing it. The guy knew nothing about it. He checked the maintenance book and said there was no note of it. Said he would write it down and it would get fixed in the morning. Hot and humid night. Couldn't sleep in the heat, had to open the balcony doors (no screens), but then couldn't sleep much because of the street noise. Next morning, again reminded the front desk and was promised it would get fixed. We were gone for the whole day, came back in the evening, once again the guy at the front desk had no idea. And it was not fixed. Another night with little sleep. 3rd day, repeat of day 1 and 2. 3rd night was extremely noisy outside. Little sleep went to zero sleep. 3 days touring Paris with our 12 year old daughter with all of us running on very sleep. Very very disappointed in the hotel service in this matter. Our once in a lifetime trip to Paris was really affected by the failure of the maintenance staff. ISSUE #2 AIRPORT SHUTTLE I called down on last night to ask if the hotel had a complementary airport shuttle. Language barrier with the front desk. He asked if I wanted a taxi, I said yes. I then checked online what a taxi fare to the airport was - it showed about 40 euros. Next morning, a minivan pulls up with no taxi sign on it. A guy who absolutely REEKED of alcohol comes in to pick us up. I see there is no taxi meter inside and we really don't want to get in with him because he had obviously been drinking. Trying to talk to the guy but he doesn't speak English. We didn't have a ton of time to get the airport so we decide to get in. The guy drives like a complete maniac (yes, much worse than the rest of the maniac drivers). Then the drunk demands 65 euros for the trip! When I ask a front desk to arrange a taxi for me, I expect them to fix me up with a reputable driver. Otherwise I will just flag down a taxi myself. I suspect that this drunk driver was just a friend of the guy at the front desk and not an actual shuttle or taxi of any sort at all. ISSUE 3 (very minor) - NO CORKSCREW IN ROOM. Really? In Paris? Went to open a bottle of wine, called down to front desk. The guy was by himself so asked me to come down to get the corkscrew, then asked me to return to to the front when I was done since it was the only in the hotel. Really? In Paris?? Anyway, hopefully they work out the few kinks. The hotel has the potential to be amazing.
"Spotty but saved by Paula"

Was dropping daughter off to start university and booked a five night stay here. First the positives 1) have to definitively mention Paula at the front Professional and deserves the crossed Golden Keys (Les Clefs d’Or). The Service at the breakfast Buffet (an Asian gentleman who's name I did not get but should have) was also very good and attentive. 2) location- perfect to the Metro and the Eiffel Tour Military Museum and Invalidis! 3) very nice Buffet breakfast 4) recently renovated so clean and new 5) free water/soda in the minibar and Hermes toiletries 6) the AC worked well and they kept it on even in the first week of Sept (not all hotels will do this) 7) August Free parking 8) bed was very nice sized (although hard mattress so if sensitive be aware) 9) good coffee and tea pods station in the room 10) wifi included 11) Nice shower set up now for some minor gripes 1) rented a three person junior suite as a few nights daughter stayed with us and it really is bigger room with a roll way bed in it (but it is a bigger room) 2) Hallways are not really well marked 3) Parking is not cheap Euro 35! although close by (however AUGUST is free parking on the street) Not really a hotel issue but would feel better if they could have pointed me to a cheaper lot. 4) one day out of 6 the fire-alarm went off and for some reason it did knock out our AC. We did not realize it until that night and of course they could not fix it so we had to sleep in the humid hot weather. 5) first day forgot to clean the room and replace the used coffee pods 6) not sure if they are supposed to but they did not replace the free minibar soda and water every day (I think if you pay the same price every day it should be included every day) 7) Wifi was spotty and could only register one acct at a time 8) tiny toilet closet 9) a few more shelf's and hooks in the bathroom would be great The one night we got back at 11:00 pm where our AC did not work the night shift desk staff is really there to only check customers in and provide security , they were not trained or capable to handle a late night issue (although after 1 hour of telling us they were not electricians finally offered an alternative room - why they did not start with this is still a mystery). By that time was wife was already asleep so I elected not to move. I mentioned lack of AC the next morning to the front desk but the person kind of just shrugged and the neglectful cleaning on the first day and she proceeded to offer the standard rate. Paula overheard stepped in and apologized profusely. She then offered a discount for the extra night we had asked to stay and had a bottle of champagne delivered to our room as well). While the discount and Champaign were very very much appreciated it was the empathy and sympathy that Paula demonstrated. While not all is perfect would definitely stay there again. It is not a 5 star luxury hotel (Kempinski/4 seasons/Waldor/ Ritz) but is a very very good 4 star hotel in Central Paris. Of course not all staff are equal and some seem to be much more customer focused and better trained.
"will definitely stay again at "La Bourdonnais""
09/01/14 Chrissie1710 Singleton Heights, NSW, Australia
we totally loved our stay "à la Bourdonnais" - the room was immaculate and extremely well appointed. The view was amazing! An awesome "breakie" - very French with baguettes & patisseries, as well as a grand selection of fruits, meats and petit fours. Heaps of soft white towels & a bathrobe each. Little restaurants & eateries on every other corner & yummy boulangeries & souvenir shops. All within a stones through of the Eiffel Tower & cruises along the Seine. I would recommend this hôtel to all who wish to enjoy Paris

We stayed here when the hotel was still brand new, so the decor, etc. was still in a very good condition and up to date. Everything was super clean. Our (standard) room on the 5th floor had a little balcony and view of the Eiffel Tour! The Tour, by the way, is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are many restaurants nearby and the area was actually quite quiet as it was more residential than city centre. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast - even including eggs, bacon and sausages! The service at breakfast times was not good though. This appeared to be due to a lack of sufficient staff on the floor. Our room was tiny but comfortable enough.
"One of the best hotels I have visited."

l LOVED our stay here. The room was wonderful and the balcony with views of the Eiffel Tower were priceless. All staff were incredibly friendly and more than happy to help, even offering up tips for great restaurants and bakeries in the area. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the perfect Paris experience. I'll absolutely be revisiting.
"A bit disappointing as four star hotel..."
I stayed at the hotel with my family for my birthday. I reserved a family suite for two nights as special birthday package, which price should include a 1/2 bottle of champaign, breakfast, VIP welcome, and late check-out depending on room availability. When we checked in, it was late, 11pm, but as scheduled, so on time as informed on booking. In the room a 1/2 bottle champaign was in a bucket filled with room temperature water, no ice. I had to put the bottle to the refrigerator to chill it. No other welcome, not even a word of "Happy Birthday" from the mouth of the hotel staff--not only at check-in but through out our stay although I mentioned a few times that our stay is for my birthday celebration. The breakfast was delicious. However, in the second morning only one staff member was serving, the tables were not ready and remained unclean, thus we were asked to wait for five minutes (in fact longer than just five minutes), the buffet plates were quite empty. When I asked a receptionist about the late check-out as it depends on room availability, she replied to me, saying "Yes, you may, but you have to pay." So I reminded her of my birthday special, then finally she said yes, but that's it, no birthday wish, again. As other reviews mention, the wifi connection was bad. Cleaning of our room was not finished until 4pm. We came back to the room around 2 pm, but the room was remained untouched. We could not go back to our room for rest until the cleaning lady finished. The hotel decoration is nice, four star worth, but overall the room and facility are not practical. The location is great, convenient, within walking distance to the neighborhood of the Eiffel Tower. I do not so much appreciate the hotel as four star. I stayed at many cheep hotels in Paris, so my expectation was very high, especially to its hospitality. Indeed that was the most disappointing part of this hotel.
"JUST AMAZING !!!"
08/12/14 greg l London, United Kingdom
Wonderful location and staff!! I was delighted by how helpful and polite the staff was. They went out of their way to make us really comfortable. The decor is beautiful ( they have just reopened in July) in both the lobby, tea room and room. The buffet breakfast is absolutely delicious (best bacon and eggs of Paris). I will definitely stay there again when I return to Paris! Top hotel in every way with AMAZING view on the Eiffel Tower for some of their rooms (I had one ! Thank you). Perfect value for money
"Missing the basics"
08/07/14 MHolmes70 Auckland, New Zealand
We had two large suites and thought the rooms were really nice. Main beds were huge but very hard. Fold outs very comfortable. Coffee machine broken in one room and we couldn't get an iron to our room for the duration of our stay. Rooms not ready on time when we checked in. Location was excellent for all our sightseeing requirements. Staff were really helpful.
