"Nice Hotel and staff"
The room was small but worked well for our needs. The maps didn't even show the street.Genuine Expedia guest review
average basic European HotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Surprisingly decent. Smallish rooms but very updated bathrooms and they have AC ( a very rare thing in most parts of Europe). Free breakfast was nice as was the patio out back. The location can't be beat if you're only in Paris for a day or two.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to bus line and situated in a neighborhood."
It took us a while to find this hotel, it is situated on an street off of a main street. Once we did find the hotel, the staff was very helpful helping us figure out how to get to all the places we wanted to see. The bus ride we took most often was a 10 minute ride to the Arc de Triomphe. Because this hotel is situated in a neighborhood, there are bakeries, […] meat markets, grocery stores and cafes all over. We enjoyed experiencing the 'living in Paris' feel. There is no elevator for half of the hotel, the side we happened to be on so we ended up carrying our luggage up an S curved staircase. The shower was functional however, a snug fit. We were very glad for the air conditioning on the hot Paris days we experienced. We would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient Hotel for a great city getaway"
The hotel was very welcoming on our arrival; fairly easy to find and near to metro station. Bed was a little uncomfortable and air condition could have worked properly but otherwise a pleasant stay. Make sure you are aware of breakfast fees before you go was a bit of a shock but otherwise a nice continental feast and superb staff on hand. Wireless was […] weak in the room but was free. Definitely would recommend the hotel as was convenient and best priced through expedia. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Overall Satisfactory for the price"
The location is good which is only about 5mins to the nearest Metro. Most tourist attractions can be walked from the hotel depending on one's endurance. Only thing that could be improved is the availability of hot water flask in the room and perhaps some instant coffee. Other than that, hotel is new and clean, and very good location.

"July 2014 Stay"
We had a great stay at Hotel Glasgow a few weeks ago in Paris! We stayed 4 nights and the first day we got there, the concierge helped map out our metro trips and booked our shuttle back to the airport for us. Such great service! The room was cleaned every day and the AC worked great! The only issue we had was that our key wouldn't work most times, but the desk staff was more than willing to help each time it happened. I would definitely recommend anyone coming to Paris to stay here!

We stayed here for a 40th birthday weekend for 4 nights. Hotel was easy to find, 10 minute walk from metro station and there was also a bus that took you directly to the Arc de Triomphe. On arrival we were greeted by staff who spoke excellent English and gave us a map straight away which had the hotel marked clearly on it so we could find our way easily. Rooms were brightly decorated, very clean and a well stocked bathroom. Free wifi was also included which is a pleasant added bonus. There was also a safe, might not be bolted to the ground but it served its purpose. Rooms were a little small but this was not a secret! We were in Paris so we did not intend spending a lot of our time in the room, who cares what size the room is when you are asleep in a comfy clean bed!! We had booked with expedia so breakfast was not included but this was an extra €11 per day and it looked well worth it. Café across the street is another alternative which provided English tea. Also their streak frites are worth checking out!! Staff in the hotel could not have been more accommodating and provided us with everything we needed. There is no hotel bar but the staff directed us to a late night supermarket around the corner were we could buy everything we needed at a very low price and we enjoyed a couple of bottles of wine in the hotel patio area. For those people who complained about there only being a lift in one part of the hotel... this was good training for all the steps you would have to climb to see the many sites of the city!! If you are really against walking up stairs, just ask upon reservation for a room on the side that has a lift. Tea, coffee and water available in reception 24 hours a day which was a welcome relief at times. We believe that we got more than we paid for with Hotel Glasgow and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you again for a great stay, you really did make us feel very welcome in your city. Please give this place a chance, a very creditable 3 star hotel in a lovely residential area where you can experience proper Paris lifestyle before you hit the madness of the city centre
"Ideal for a short stay - great staff"

We got a great deal at the Glasgow Monceau for a long weekend over the Tour de France. The location was conveniently located within walking distance of most things (Approx 20 mins walk to the Arc de Triumph) but far enough away that you can distance yourselves from the commercial tourism. The staff couldn't of been more helpful - infact I would say that they were the best part about our stay at the hotel. The hotel itself is small and the facilities are basic, but there are good restaurants & cafes nearby, the beds were comfortable and the rates were very reasonable ... overall we would definitely recommend the Glasgow Monceau and it's staff for a short stay in Paris.
"Good Hotel for Value!"

Good hotel for value. Room was clean, and the staff was helpful. The light in the toliet was broken in the room we were given, and we were switched rooms immediately, with an apology and no hesitation. Staff were very helpful and showed us the way to the main attractions in France. It was quite a walk into the city centre, but nothing overwhelming. It was also close to Parc Monceau, which we loved. Good value for money, but if you want something central to Paris' city centre this is not the place for you!
"You are better sleeping on the street!"

This hotel was an absolute joke! Our first room was on the 4th floor on the side with NO elevator and when we huffed and puffed our way up with our luggage we laughed our heads off. No fridge, coffee maker in room and the safe you could carry out the door-not bolted down! This room was the smallest room I have ever seen. They need to knock down some walls and combine two rooms to make one that is just adequate in size. This room stunk so bad it gave me a headache-they changed us to another room the next day with laminate flooring and unbelievably it was even smaller. My husbands back side wouldn't even fit in the shower and he is just a normal size for 6 ft.! He dropped the little soap they have in the bathroom and flooded the bathroom trying to recover it! Most of the staff were ok, but a few of them were very intrusive and rude when you went to the lobby to get a coffee or tea or wanted to heat something in the microwave-do they think we are going to steal the 15 year old microwave or something? The breakfast was something in our tummies but was far from good. The coffee was terrible. In the area-the so called Traditional French cooking places were a bad joke-20 euros or more for a steak that is pan fried and half of it was gristle served with FROZEN French fries-they don't have steak sauce or salad dressings. Even by the Eiffel Tower the restaurants serve frozen fries and the same kind of bland food-the so called wonderful French cooking is an absolute myth. It may have been wonderful years before but it is crap now. They have never heard of AAA or USDA prime beef or else they are serving horse meat! As for the prices-anyone that is willing to fork over ridiculous amounts of money for horrible food needs to have their heads examined-go to McDonalds or a grocery store and get something to go. Even the bakeries are charging double what the food is really worth. If Paris wants to get out of financial trouble, they need to seriously look at the prices they are charging tourists for rooms and food(I just can not say enough about how awful the food is and I think the people who live there are in denial as to the state of it)-the costs to go to sites and museums are in line and acceptable with comparison to other European cities. We stayed there because our "usual" hotel in Paris was sold out. Hotel Glasgow Monceau is in a nice neighborhood. Easy access to both Montmartre and Champs-Elysees. The different people at the front desk spoke decent English, were courteous and helpful. We were overlooking the courtyard which was great during the soccer games : less noise ! Overall, a place we will get back to.
"A brilliant boutique hotel."

Pros: Great location in a quiet street near to the Villiers metro stop and Parc Monceau. Suberb range of choice for breakfast which was included in our booking. Staff were very helpful and had good english Reasonable price for the room. Con: Room slightly small but not unusual for Paris
"Super Hotel. Excellent Staff."

Superb location, and the hotel staff could not do enough for us during our short stay. We had a problem with our return transfer - fault of travel agent in the UK - and the 2 gents on reception did their very best to resolve the problem for us. The staff were knowledgeable about the area, and the hotel is well placed for walking into the local town and enjoying some local hospitality. I would definitely visit again.
"Cosy and clean, Perfect for couple"

Looks like this hotel is recently renovated and it's worth for the price, given it's in a well connected prime location. Initially we hesitated and couldn't easily take a decision by looking at old reviews, but after spending some time and going through all recent reviews, it gave us bit of confidence and decided to go head with this hotel and finally on the day of arrival felt very happy by looking at the room and service. Pros: Cosy and Hygiene Staff can speak English and very helpful Located in prime location and well connected to Gare Du Nord station Walk-able distance from Metro station (10 mins walk) Bright and relaxing Lobby in the ground floor (though it's not very spacious) Cons: Very congested common area (lift and corridor from lift to room) Small shower, but very clean Not of a great quality sound resistant walls, could hear noise from other rooms (Luckily our room is not facing to main road, so there isn't any disturbance from road traffic) To be honest, we haven't felt discomfort with any of the above cons, I just mentioned so that it would be helpful to those people who are very sensitive to these points.
"Great hotel, very helpful staff"

Typically small for Paris, but clean, good location and helpful staff, Some good little bars / restaurants nearby. And metro is not far away. With the taxis on strike, the staff helped with arranging transportation. We will be staying again.
