"Good value in Alexandria"
I stayed here for New Years Eve. It is technically close enough to the Eisenhower Metro station to walk, but I probably would have taken my car and parked at the lot (it was New Years Eve, so the lot was free, I think. Otherwise it's $7). Other than that, this is a very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Room size is average for the area, decor was fresh. […] You have a coffee maker in the room but no fridge. There is a restaurant in the hotel. Parking is free but breakfast isn't. If you want to visit Alexandria or DC but don't want to pay the higher hotel costs (and don't mind a bit of a hike) this would be a good hotel to work from. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Room had odor"
My room had a musty order the rugs were old and stained. But main complaint was the bad smell. I did report This to front desk upon leaving and I received an apology. Hope they correct this situation I would not stay at this courtyard hotel againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This Courtyard offered great value and met all of my needs easily. I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Really great hotel"
This hotel was modern, well designed and clean. Granite bath counter-top, sofa. Only missed having a minifrig (but the wall unit had a place for one). Otherwise perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We really enjoyed our stay and the hotel. It was quiet and clean and the bed was a plus for me because I like a firm mattress. I was very pleased. I just wish we had had a sofa in our room instead of a single chair. When our son and his friend came to visit it would have been better to have a sofa so they would not have to sit on the bed and there would […] have been more room. Whenever you have specials, please let us know by email because we would use your hotel when we return again. Thank you!!!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Real solid in The Courtyard"
This is one of my fav hotels because of the classiness, cleanliness of it and the feng shui of the room. This changes the experience for the better. It even has free parking, some underground parking garage too with elevator up into hotel. That was a plus. Only thing is I had to ask for a fridge and there is no microwave at this location. Im a leftover […] kinda gal so this was a little issue. Overall, its real solid at the courtyard. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Good hotel - bit far from DC sights but great if you have a car. Wish they also had free breakfast. But overall a great hotel for the priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was being renovated so it is difficult to rate. I expect it will be fine. The shuttle service was excellent and staff very accommodating.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good place to stay, close to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty good overall."
I would say I loved the room it was real good for the price but when I decided to go downstairs to get something to eat the chef or guy that was serving wasn't too friendly he definitely seem like he didn't want to be there. But the food was delicious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to monuments"
Hotel was close to monuments, White House and Smithsonian. Only tricky part was the highways leading to it. Otherwise everything you would expect from a Courtyard...Genuine Expedia guest review
"Some hotel staff were unhelpful - poor cust svc."
At front desk, staff told me that I could not check-in because my name was not on the reservation, even though I made the reservation for us, and paid with *my* credit card, and had the reservation number. Staff repeatedly told me that there was *nothing* he could do. Repeatedly I made suggestions that he *could* do. It made little sense: he said that […] my guest could call him and add my name onto the reservation. Finally, he told me that I could go to a computer and pull-up my reservation and modify it to put my name on it, and come back to him. It was poor customer service that he refused to pull-up the reservation himself. He was too quick to repeatedly tell me what he could not and would not do ... and gave too little help ... no sympathy ... it felt like he did not want us to stay there, and he was trying to create obstacles and discomfort. "Clean, comfortable rooms - no more, no less"
The place was difficult to find and to get to/from during our stay. Make sure you call the hotel to obtain directions- there are some new roads that were not displaying on our GPSs. Fairly close to the metro and a free shuttle bus from the hotel was convenient. Our stay was nice- clean, comfortable rooms- decent mattresses and decent water pressure- […] nothing luxurious. A nice café for breakfast (they also serve dinner, which we did not stay for). The hotel was definitely understaffed during our stay- everyone seemed to be pulling double-duty- but if that's the price for a good deal, that's fine with me. We did obtain all the information we needed, though, regarding the sites in the area we were interested in visiting. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Accessible to Down DC"
This hotel is conveniently located just outside of DC. We drove up there and it was easy to get there, free to park and they had shuttle service to the Eisenhower Metro Station as needed. That serves as a major plus. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is good, the rooms could be better in terms of design and amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was very friendly. The hotel was easy to find and close to the highway.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Short visit to Washington DC area"
We booked this room through Expedia for a great price and this hotel was great for the price. The area was nice for a morning run with a jogging path and a park a few miles down the road. It was perfect for what we were looking for; a nice clean room for a few nights stay while visiting relatives.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location to the Washington DC Metro System. Convietent access to all the downtown locations and attractions. Hotel has free shuttle to and from the Metro, however, it is only a short walk across the freeway bridge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Stay At A Good Rate"
I searched all around the Alexandria area for a hotel near the highway that was affordable, and this was the best price I could find. Parking was free (very rare in the DC area), and the hotel was in very good condition. The room was very comfortable, AC worked great, internet was fast, and the staff brought up a minifridge right away so I could keep […] my medication refrigerated. Also, the hotel is the sponsor of the NFL, so the Thursday Night Game was on and they were giving away small prizes, which was unexpected and fun. Overall a very good stay. Only downsides were, it's pretty tricky to get to the hotel, even though it's right off the highway (blame city planners for that, but, it is still a bit of a pain), and parking was pretty cramped. One last thing, the shower handles were way too complicated, there were three, I guess one was hot, one was cold, and one switched between bath/shower, but it took awhile each morning to get the water temp somewhere in the middle between "scalding" and "freezing." But again, overall it was definitely worth the stay, especially for the price, I bet you'd be hard-pressed to find a more comfortable place for the price and location. "Smelly room, not walking distance to Old Town"
Our room smelt stale - like someone had been sweating profusely. Even with the balcony open, the stench did not clear for the two nights that we had stayed. Since we arrived at 5 a.m. and were exhausted from driving overnight, we didn't ask to change rooms but hoped instead that the smell would go away. It didn't. The bathroom was spacious but not as […] clean as I would have expected. The toilet seat was in poor condition - it was bumpy and stained. How much does it cost to replace a toilet seat? $20? The hotel does not offer a free breakfast but they do have a market area where you can purchase snacks 24/7 (we didn't visit their restaurant). I purchased a bag of M&Ms for $3.30. I was stunned when I found out the price, as none of the items in the Market have price tags. I guess they know that if we knew the price in advance, we'd drive to a convenience store. I thought that the hotel would be closer to Old Town, but it's not within walking distance. It's about a ten-minute drive. On the way home, my husband and I stayed overnight at a Days Inn in PA, and not only was it half the price, but it was in much better condition! I'm very disappointed in our stay, especially after reading so many positive reviews. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Internet included in the price"
Free Internet at a hotel is a must in the 21st century. Stay away from Hotels that charge separately for Internet. It is the equivalent of McDonald s charging separately for napkins. Front desk people were 100%.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel for a DC trip"
We stayed here for two nights while visiting D.C. It's close to old town Alexandria and the metro stop was only a 5 minute walk away which was nice. Breakfast was good, but the hours were not displayed in noticeable areas so we did not know that breakfast ended earlier on the weekdays. Aside from missing out on one breakfast, we enjoyed our stay here […] and we would stay here again in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great value in Alexandria"
I attended a conference in downtown Alexandria and stayed here because the conference hotel was $220/night, and didn't even include internet access. This Courtyard was in a good location for me (I could walk to the conference), was clean, and had very friendly staff. Check-in and check-out were extremely fast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel in mid Old Town Alexandria"
We loved the "mini" suites in this hotel. The bed was the best night's sleep we had had in awhile. I plan to purchase the bedding on line. It was pretty, pure white with 4 big fluffy pillows we just sunk into after a long day touring DC. We would stay there again in NY minute. They take pets, a big deal for us.Genuine Expedia guest review
We planned rather last minute a quick visit to Alexandria for a few college visits, so we wanted free parking, wi-fi, sleeper sofa for our teen, and convenient location. This hotel met our needs; beyond that, the employees were extremely friendly and helpful, and there was always a friendly face at the front desk to make fresh coffee or expedite our […] need for late night or early morning snacks. The hotel does not have a pool, which we knew in advance and did not have the time for that, but I did take advantage of the 24 access gym and used it at 5 am before heading off for the day's adventures. It was nothing fancy but does have excellent treadmills as well as other cardio equipment and some weights. It was clean. The Metro was a five minute walk from the hotel, and there was a convenient area nearby where we could enjoy an outdoor dinner, movie, coffee, etc. The location was great; we were a 15 minute drive to some of the colleges and a subway ride to the rest. Additionally, we could do all our D.C. touring from the Metro, which was really convenient since our hotel was set in a quiet area near HIstoric Old Alexandria, so we got some peaceful rest with a great price but were minutes from every destination. "2nd Stay, Just As Great As Last Time!"
This was our second stay in the last couple of months. Our experience this time was just as great as the last time. I even got to see this hotel's great teamwork when a busload of people arrived to check in late one evening. Three employees worked together to check people in while taking care of any other customer needing assistance at the same time. […] I will definitely stay at this hotel in the future! "Need a little more space to get a 5 rating."
The experience was overall was very good. We love traveling the metro. We wanted the entire Metro experience morning, noon, night and rush hours. We had a ball on the metro. Just did not know how much Washington has to offer. Must come back, we could not see everything in 1 week. However we did some awesome things while we were there. Washington made […] me appreciate history. Now I wish I had paid more attention in American History. Our youngest son pick Washington for vacation this year. He just love history. He did a great job picking the state and the oldest daughter did a great job in planning the different sites to see. Now we need an additional vacation just to rest. Bu if the opportunity present itself we would be right back in the area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best housekeeping Experience"
I came to town for a conference happening at the Hilton hotel. I wasnt sure of I should stay in the Marriott because of commuting, but I don't regreat. The first night i checked in very late and i was very tired. The room was freezing. I was so tired i didnt want to look for the air condition control. I just grab the extra blanket from the closet. I […] undid my lugagge but left my clothes hanged in a disorganized way. I took a shower and felt in my bed. The second day I left early morning and took another shower after waking up. At night I came back at 1 am exhausted from the long day of events and guess what I see: The housekeeper had pu set up my bed with the extra blanket nicely open, my room wasn't freezing temperature, my clothes were nicely hanged, and I had extra bathroom amenities (about three of each- I guess it was clear one wasn't enough for two showers a day!) That housekeeper made my day. Whoever cleaned room 505 on July 26 deserves all the compliments! I wish I knew the persons name because he/she made e huge difference in my 4 night stay! I really hope that person can get promoted or recogized from the great job, above and beyond service. Please, find out who that person was because I appreciate the attention to detail from my heart. "Good hotel, reasonable location"
Overall our stay was fine. We were in Alexandria to visit our daughter and while the hotel was not walking distance to her home, it was just a few minutes away by car. Both the room and the bathroom were good sized and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The one issue was that on check-in we were told that our breakfast was free, but we were charged […] for breakfast on the first morning. When we checked with the front desk, they removed the charge, but said the second breakfast would not be free. We probably would have eaten there anyway given that it is not close to downtown, but the communication failure was annoying. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small Rooms - No Pool"
Photos online made rooms appear to be bigger than they are. Traveled with kids and had to switch rooms because the tiny pullout couch was only big enough for one child and so much excess non-essential furniture in the room that there was no room for a cot or rollaway bed. Also, did not know that there was no pool at this hotel so again, the kids were […] disappointed (that will teach us to read the fine print next time). Breakfast at hotel was pricey ($40 for a scone, tea, box of cheerios, 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 bottles of water). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was spot on for a courtyard marriott. It is precisely what they aspire to be. It was not overly ritzy but it was not a bad hotel. I rather liked the room and found them to be spacious and more sound proof than some hotels located next to a freeway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
