A number of complaints - clean towels were not put in bathroom second day, soap dispensers were empty and never filled, mini-bar refrigerator didn't exist - had been ripped out, mediocre breakfast cost 14 euros - overall this hotel was a disappointment. Shuttle to and from the airport was timely though. Oh, and the airconditioner didn't work.

The staff was very helpful and spoke perfect English. When I called from the airport, a shuttle arrived within about 10 minutes and brought us to the hotel free of charge. The food was also very, very good. We got to the hotel about 30 minutes before the kitchen was going to close and were able to order a hamburger and potato leek soup. Convenient hotel near the airport. A bit far from city center about 30 min. Service was excellent. Rooms are clean but nothing exceptional. Good place to stay if you have early morning flight out. It takes 5 min to the airport.

We took a taxi to the hotel and did not realize that we could have phoned for the shuttle. We met friendly people who helped us in any way. The only disappointing thing was that there was no wireless free internet access in the room.

The staff was particularly accommodating. We were there on the night of a very important soccer match for the German national team, and still got a good night's sleep. It is close to airport and good if you have a eraly flight. The room service is okay. My assigned room has very bad smoke smell and I have to ask upgrade. Make sure you specifiy "No Smoke" when book it online.

The hotel was great, extremely clean, great service and very comfortable. I wish the internet was cheaper and wireless in the rooms instead of being connected through cable. Wifi is however is free in the lounge and the lounge is extremely comfortable. Also, if you are walking from the U station, if you have luggage it can be quite a hike.

This is a great hotel for a good price. We used the free hotel shuttle to the airport- 3 minutes! The hotel is nested in a residential neihgborhood. In walking distance you can find some nice small restaurants. We would stay their again for a night before flying out from HH airport.

At one time this was a nice Hotel. It needs some investment to bring it back to 4 stars and some training of the staff in manners would help. I travel a lot for business. Mercure chain is not bad, bu this location is a weak link. Some things are almost funny...like the small grey/silver tube tv's. It is relatively clean and close to the airport.

As we were traveling to Kiel the following day to board a cruise ship, the hotel was ideal for overnight stay. The hotel courtesy bus picked us up at airport and brought us back to the airport the following morning to catch the Kielibus to the port.

Great place to stay if on a business trip. Close to the airport, shuttle bus, great breakfast, very good services. I'd definitely come again.I have only two "negative" comments : there is no snack/drinks in the room fridge so when in need to drink something once the bar is closed, there is no way without cash needed for an in-corridor vendor's machine. […] As a business hotel the internet should really be fast and freely available. Asking for 10EUR/day for wired internet is really bad. If I payed I would needed to stay in the room all the time. We were very impressed indeed. Sometimes checking into a hotel is such a big deal in our experience. Not so at the Mercure Hamburg, it was so easy and smooth. The hotel is nothing fancy, but it's perfect if you need a place near the Hamburg airport. They offer a free shuttle to the airport every 15 minutes. I recommend skipping the hotel's pricey breakfast and grabbing some food at one of the grocery stores around the corner.
