This hotel was a Hyatt and is now a Marriott - Concierge and Bell Staff very helpful - housekeeping responded to request for a refrigerator within 10 minutes of my call. Room service food was good, temperature as expected and within the stated time - usualy 'early'. When I arrived the front desk staff at the counter was occupied and another person came forward and opened another station - that was great, no waiting. The BART is directly across the street (11th) that was very convenient to the SF Airport.

I paid the lower rate, considering my other option was the concierge service. I never go to extravagant on hotels when I visit San Francisco as I don't spend much time in them other than sleeping. This time around the Nike Women's Marathon was happening so I opted to stay in Oakland. This hotel had BART right across the street- literally, so it was perfect. No worries about walking around late at night to get to your hotel. No microwave or fridge was a disappointment, we ordered delivery the first night as we didn't want to spend $50 on room service food. No complaints, the shower head made a difference in the standard hotel room. All was to be expected from this Marriott. If you are looking for a room with room service, concierge, and lots of amenities- this is a great choice. We never spend time in our hotel to notice so can't review much of them.

The actual room was decent. It seemed ordinaary considering I was given an "upgrade" when my hotel.com reservation didn't pop up when I checked in! The birthday card was a nice touch- but was spoiled when I recieved a dining charge to my room that wasn't mine. While checking out, extra time was spent to clear up the mistaken charge!

Very nice hotel, very reasonable pricing for the quality of romm and location was good for our needs. Unfortunately, when I booked, I thought parking was included. Since the city of Oakland is broke, don't dare to park on the street overnight or risk ticketing or tow. So I had to pay $20 more per day for overnight parking with NO in & out priveleges. Or Valet would park for $29/day. So the actual cost was more than I had expected, or I would have chosen another facility

When you book a room, you should be aware of all costs. Water (for one regular bottle) at almost $3.00 is an insult. It would help your establishment a lot to give a few little things to your patrons. It wouldn't cost you cost you that much. Also, to be told that your parking is $25- from four to 24 hours is a rip off especially when you were not informed before. We chose your hotel because we were willing and could afford the quoted price. Why don't you include the parking in the cost of the room or are you afraid that you will lose customers. You have lost us permanently!

It was an overnight stay so the room wasn't used for much more than just a place to shower and sleep. However, it's a peace of mind that it was clean and comfortable. Paying for parking is a bit outrageous. Hide it in the room fee or something but it "feels" atrocious that one has to pay for parking when you're already paying for the accomodations. Seems that should accomodate your transportation as well.
